Messages disappearing?

I’ve noticed lately that sometimes when I reply to a message, after I click “Send” it completely disappears and doesn’t show up either in the message chain or in my Sent Items folder/Outbox. Yet when I bring up the message I was trying to reply to it will say that I have replied.

I’ve gone back and checked my settings and it definitely is set to save a copy of all messages I send. I’ve tried toggling some of the settings to see if I can retrieve the messages I sent but nothing. The most confusing thing is that most of my messages still seem to be sending and copying into my Sent folder normally and I cannot work out what’s going on, why some messages are working normally and others aren’t. But the ones that aren’t just seem to be vanishing into the ether.

Now I’ve completely lost a long post that I sent on a PM RP chain that took me ages to write up and have had to ask my partner to move to a different RP method because if I can’t fix it I’m stressing that I’ll struggle to keep track of what’s happening or have to poke them every couple of posts to check if my response went through and/or ask them to forward my replies back to me so that I can keep track of what’s going on. Is this happening to anyone else and is there anything I can do to fix it so it doesn’t keep happening?

If you want I can undelete your sent messages specifically.

The site is going to be upgrading, after which you will be able to recover any deleted messages on your own.

I know what happens for some people is they somehow accidentally trigger mass deletion somehow.

Please do try. I’m hoping that’s it, but the weird thing is I don’t think I’m clicking on anything that would delete it; it’s just not there when the page loads after sending despite the PM chain saying that I’ve replied.

I only found three messages deleted in the past few months. They should be restored. I only viewed timestamp and deletion data.

What browser and operating system are you using?

Thank you. That seems to have restored them.

On my phone I’m on iOS(don’t ask which version I have no idea) and Safari, and on my laptop it’s Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge. It’s happened on both.

I know iOS has been pushing buttons it shouldn't, so to speak. I've never heard of it happening in Edge, though. : /

Hopefuly will go away with upgrading.
