Like many of my stories, this one revolves around the idea of fluidity: in gender, in appearance, in personality.  Expect my character to be a chameleon.

It's the near-enough future.  Virtual Reality has taken off and seen at least a few iterations, each improving on the last.  Finally the technology has matured past the need for bulky, uncomfortable hardware.  Instead, discreet implants, located just at the base of the brain, provide direct sensory input.  The user is either hard-wired into a computer, or connected wirelessly, using more recent, more expensive implants.  The virtual world appears just as real as this one, but with far fewer limitations.

For now, I'm going to call your character "Mike", just so I have a name.  Mike is married, semi-happily.  In most things, he and his wife get along very well, except for sex.  Mike's drive is... much greater than his wife's, especially lately, plus their sexual tastes are not very compatible.  She is perfectly fine with just plain vanilla sex, lying on her back, letting him do his thing.  They never try other positions, other acts, anything beyond a little touching ahead of time until they're ready, then missionary for a few minutes, then done.  Mike is becoming more and more frustrated with the situation, and any time he brings it up, his wife just dismisses everything, saying that they have a perfectly fine sex life, and that she's just not into anything kinky (although she defines even other positions as "kinky").  Mike doesn't want to stray, or to leave her (for reasons you can decide or we can discuss) but knows that he has to find an outlet before he goes crazy. Eventually, he wanders online...

Mike meets my character, Lucy (again, not set, just a placeholder) at a kind of virtual "adults only" club.  She's a professional "entertainer", like an escort in the outside world.  There's more to it though: while she'll fulfill whatever fantasies you might have, she can also BE what you want her to be.  It's all online, all virtual, so your real physical appearance doesn't matter.  She can be whatever gender, whatever build, it doesn't matter.  Mike, and really any user, gets to create a custom version of themself to present to the rest of the online world, so maybe in reality he's a little overweight, or short, or whatever, but here, he can be 6'2" and built like a runner.  I have a faceclaim idea for Lucy, but he would be able to request different appearances from her as well, and that's something I really want to work with.

I figure that Mike really wants to explore everything he can.  Sometimes he'll ask Lucy to dress up in leather and be his domme.  Other times he wants her to look sweet an innocent and virginal so he can "corrupt" her.  Maybe he gets in a mood once (or more) and wants her to have a dick, just to experiment with.  Maybe he wants her to be a guy sometimes.  It's up to him, although fair warning: I do like messing around with gender.  Hell, maybe he wants to try being the girl.  None of this is permanent, though.  Each time they get together he can request something else.

The thing is, though, he realizes that he's getting what he needs from her, and starts to wonder about the real woman behind the avatar.  (I promise, no surprises where it's actually a guy.  Whoever or whatever is behind Lucy is female.)  The thing is, is Lucy even real?  She could be a very good AI, or maybe not just a single person.  What happens if Mike starts to fall for her?  When he starts suggesting they do things other than just sex, like just spending time together.  Maybe they go on virtual "dates", or  play MMOs in character and quest together.  Those options are all open to them.

I'm open to any gender of writer, playing as any gender.  I would ask, though, if you're playing a character that is not the same as how you identify, that you have experience writing as that gender and are reasonably good at it.

Any questions or if you think this might appeal to you, please PM me.

Thanks,
Jess
