What future does the land have with no heir to the throne? A young queen (F) and king (A) have ushered in a golden age for their kingdom. The people are prosperous and happy, none of their neighbors dare cross their powerful army, and their court is a wonder of erudition and refinement. Most miraculously of all, their arranged marriage has proven a happy one.

But it has yet to prove a fruitful one.

The court they have fostered into brilliance has its ugly rumors in the shadows. Is the Queen barren? Or the king impotent? Even with the peace that has been established, the aristocracy has slowly drifted into different factions, each with its own notions for the succession..

With the soft whispers threatening to turn into a howling storm that will tear apart everything that has been built, the king and queen turn to desperate measures. They look for someone who can keep his silence and escape the notice of the nobility. A nobody to entrust with a task of the most important and treacherous sort, who can give the Queen the child she needs.

The royals find the man in an impoverished warrior (MC) who they bestow with honors for courage. Strong and brave, but none to boast of his deeds. Perfect to do what is required of him and be gone from then on.

Such is the making of a plan. But what if things are not so simple for these three? When desire is stoked to a burning fire, can it truly be extinguished?
