Muse

Name:   Linnea Durese deThurani
Race/Class: Mark of Shadow Elf Wizard (Bladesinger)
Sex/Gender: Female
Kinks: I'm perfectly happy with everything from light romance to lecherous monsters who defeat and molest me every few sessions, and Linnea is attracted to all genders.  Just make sure there's some normal adventures, too.  *smiles*
Brief Description:   5'7", 111lbs.  Linnea has a tight, supple body with a tiny waist, flared hips, and generous cleavage she's not too shy to share.  She has long, straight dark brown hair that falls to her claves, often kept in various arrangements of braids.  her favorite outfit is an elaborate and extremely revealing dancer's costume made of black silk and lace with thread of gold and some jewelry and chains.
What was your character doing during the Last War?: Linnea got her initial combat experience off and on in the last few years of the Last War.  "Just a dancer" she was not sent to the front line, but did a lot of patrolling in her home region.
Why are you on a train to Sharn?: "In celebration of my coming of age, I'm going to spend a few decades exploring the world.  I'll start in Sharn, where my cousin Siona dances in the ballet."  (And the burlesque.)

How to set this Muse ablaze (O/Os)

When the little angel won't appear no matter how many plum blossoms you swirl:  https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=135346.msg16474321#msg16474321 (Major update 5/10/2023)

All of the characters sound interesting and I'm looking forward to, hopefully, being part of a party with them.

I do want to reinforce that I expressed interest in an adventure and not a traveling orgy or sex-fest every time the party turns around. I don't mind in the least if a little smut appears here or there, but I would be disappointed if this turns into a smut focused  fuck the hero everyday and twice on Sunday situation. But, things seem to be moving in that direction with  things.

He blep
Name: Fragrance of Misted Rain (Misty)

Race/Class: Swiftstrider Shifter Bard (Maybe Artificer, still tinkering)

Sex/Gender: Male

Kinks: Prefer humanoid partners, though sentient bestiality (unicorns, dragons, etc) is acceptable. Not interested in violence or degradation; most noncon and dubcon is a no. Misty would be interested in cuddling / petting, dress-up, light bondage (G/R), with a bit of exhibitionism and breeding play mixed in. Prefers feminine partners of any gender; player as a thing for short stacks and fauns, go figure.

Brief Description: Misty is fairly feminine, and could even be mistaken for a woman in some outfits; he has fair, sun-warmed skin, long blonde hair, and a lean, supple body that he enjoys displaying with open clothing. When he Shifts, he develops a calico pattern of fuzz that matches the ears and tail he has all the time. He would call himself curious; others might say "nosy." Flirty and a bit flighty, you might think it weird that he's a veteran of the Last War; he thinks it's pretty strange too.

What was your character doing during the Last War?: Misty spent two years aboard the Dame Leocadia, a Brelish privateer first as a rigger and then as a gunner. The ship was still active after the war ended (sometimes it takes a while to get word to se...) and as a result the letter of Marque was revoked and the crew left without pay or stipend.

Why are you on a train to Sharn?: Two reasons; Sharn's a big city, and Misty's goal is to write for the Inquisitive; you can't do that from Wroat. Second... He was running some ahem, uh, items for one of the criminal factors in the Capital, and, uh. Well, misplaced the merchandise; Sharn's a good place to either get lost, or maybe make the money to pay the debt (and interest)... right?

I had originally planned for him to be working at a Thurrani-owned theme restaurant in Sharn (Femboy Hooters, Sharn location!) to maybe tie in with Muse and Fox's characters, but then I saw we're on a train to Sharn.

Rummy Tum Tum

Misty's full name is dope!

...And so is femboy hooters

I have so many Eberron ideas in my head now.  >:(

I might have to either request a second game, or run one of my own

Is anyone surprised by this?  ::)

Blinkin

Ok, I think that I have this figured out. Just need to figure out ability score generation and do the math. Still debating a single level dip into warlock for hexblade  or fighter for dual wielding.

suggestions?

Revelation

Personally - I don't think Dual Wielding is really worth it in 5e, it's a really weak combat option.

Assuming Calemi is accepted he'll be a hexblade, I don't terribly mind someone else dipping in to that niche if they want I guess.

FoxgirlJay

Revelation

Yeah, that'd be my issue with dipping into hexblade given we have a Warlock, a sorcerer, and a probable bard. We could probably go with widening our stat distributions as compared to going tall.

well shit. There went all of the ideas I had in the air  for something that wouldn't step on someone else's toes.

got a thief, so I was going to not focus on a thief, got a warlock and didn't want to ctramp that, got a bard (potentially) so that's out and I hate straight up fighters... spell casters have never been all that appealing... hmmm... I'm probably just screwed.

I guess  could play that gnome barbarian that has the life sspan of a TOS redshirt, and the wee folk are once again ignored as PC options. lol

If you want to play Warlock instead, I could probably think of another character. Paladin or ranger? Iunno, I'm playing fighter in another game so I'd rather not play another, but I can try to finagle something else.

Nobody else posted a rogue besides you. Chula changed their character idea from rogue of some sort, after you posted yours, switching instead to bard or artificer

Me: Sorcerer
Changingsaint: Hexblade
Muse: Bladesinger
Chula: Bard or Artificer
Rummy: Cleric
Blinkin: Rogue
Vreski: Fighter

Chulanowa

I think... I might go with a different flex.

(shut up Mal no one asked you!)

Misty's still there; I'm just so full of brain-juice that I gotta explore options just in case

There was a positive covid case in the office on Thursday (idiot came in while waiting for the results on his test) with everyone in the section of the building he was in being told by security at the gate they weren't allowed in on Friday morning. Not my section, but considering the guy never stays in one place I've been a little anxious over the last few days and haven't been able to concentrate on reading the thread and character information in the detail I'd like to. Since in my last post I said I'd have more for you guys today I thought it best to come on to give you a reason why nothing's come from me as yet.

Please permit me a little more time to get my head cleared, when I get hit by anxiety I get hit hard. At the same time I don't want to be unfair to you guys and keep you hanging so I'll keep you updated as soon as I've been able to go over characters, questions about them and when an IC/OOC thread's going up.

Rummy Tum Tum

Oof that blows. And anxiety is extra shitty. Hope all’s well.

no, no, no. play what you want. It's my problem for always ending up playing pointless characters. I prefer a light fighter with a little flash, so... hoping no one is striking for a swashbuckler, if the game makes it that far. It would be the second time since 2012 on here that I have leveled a character. hehe

Awe damn, hope you come through clean. My wife and I got it early on, when it was just 19 without any letters after it and for nearly 2 weeks, we could barely get out of bedd. I lost 35 pounds in 14 days and barely kept water down. After that, you couldn't give the vaccanition fast enough... and still had to wait until early July then.

that's not pointless, blinking.  That's the strongest fighter build in most games.

it's those of us who want to play big, buff guys that are underpowered.

Ershin

Well this has been a week. Not only did a co-worker come in to work before getting the results of his test, a nurse at my dad's dentist did the same on the day he was getting a tooth out so yay, another round of tests since I look after my dad and need to be in close contact with him! Good gracious. Hopefully the old adage is false, trouble doesn't come in threes and I can just get on with things.

So! By general consensus We'll be using the alternate options for races found in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything . For those unaware of what this is;

  • You may exchange your racial stats for any other stats (eg a Centaur may instead of having +2 Str, +1 Wis may instead have for example +2 Cha, +1 Dex). I'd prefer a background based reason for why your character doesn't follow the racial norms though (in the centaur example, this could be explained as them now being classified as Fey and medium sized - your character may be more faun than centaur and more deer than horse leaning into being a fey, or if you're a more strength based elf you could have trained to use heavier, more devastating weapons)
  • You may exchange a known language for one from the following list;
Abyssal, Celestial, Common, Deep Speech, Draconic, Dwarvish, Elvish, Giant, Gnomish, Goblin, Halfling, Infernal, Orc, Primordial, Sylvan, or Undercommon
  • You may swap racial proficiencies in the following;
    • Any skill for any skill
    • Armor for simple/martial weapon or tool
    • Simple weapon for simple weapon or tool
    • Martial weapon for simple/martial weapon or tool
    • Any tool for any other tool or simple weapon

Right! So in terms of stat generation... There's a dead tie between rolling and point buy as far as my peepers can see.
So to make this inherently fair let's just go with 27 point buy.

That business out of the way, on to characters.

Chula - I like Misty, seems like a cool guy and I enjoy that he was a privateer during the War. I like the concept of Femboy Hooters to the point you may actually get to set something like that up.
Does he have any contacts in Sharn's criminal underbelly to unload that merch, and if so are they more likely to belong to Boromar, Tarkanan, the Tyrants or Daask? Does he know anyone in the paper to allow him to get his foot through the door or does he have a collection of writings he's hoping to submit to the paper when he gets there? What are his opinions of the Korranberg Chronicle?

FoxgirlJay - If Meri was on an adventure of her own prior to coming to Sharn, was she associated with either the Clifftop Adventurer's Guild or the Deathsgate Explorer's Club (less evil, more dubious.  A René Belloq to Clifftop's Indiana Jones - Deathsgate is simply the name of a district in Sharn)? Were her parents associated with either? Was her adventure a success or is she going to Sharn with her tail between her legs?

Rummy - Since Rexxy comes from a small farming community, would you think he's more likely to be a citizen of Breland (the country Sharn is located in) or the Eldeen Reaches (a nation that broke off from Aundair as the farmers believed they gained more aid from the druids of the neighbouring forests than the crown)? Possibly Aundair itself as it's still provides all the nations of the continent with food and wine. As a medic did he save the life of anyone that settled in Sharn after the conflict?
Being medic who participated in the Last War, did you ever see someone who looked like Calemi across the battlefield also tending to the wounded on his side?

Blinkin - Who do you think is closer to your tail - the assassins of House Thuranni or the bounty hunters of House Tharashk? Are they actually after you due to something foolish you did, or is it more a rumour to make Natasha seem more impressive? How far down a dark road would you go for revenge?

Muse - As you mentioned being an ancestral worshipping elf previously, is Linnea her original name or the name of the ancestor she wishes to venerate? How closely are you following their path or have you diverged wishing to be your own person? Does her cousin Siona venerate the same ancestor, an ally of that ancestor or a rival?

Vreski - That's a lot of horse cock in that spoiler. Can't say I'm terribly fond of that style but I'm not the type to kink shame. Only request is that you keep any such images in spoilers if you feel the need to post them for a situation you're in and label them as such and if possible tone down any descriptions of it please.

For the background you've provided we can work out how it can fit into Eberron - With the war going on for a hundred years there would have been a lot of orphanages where Victoria could have ended up, and a lot of conflicts that could have seen the end of her parents as Orcs are more... druidic balance-keepers in this setting.

Do you fancy being from one of the Five Nations?

Thrane is the seat of the Silver Flame religion and the only of the five to be a Theocracy rather than a Monarchy
Karrnath was known to have used a lot of undead soldiers in the Last War and is currently a dictatorship
Breland is a mix of open farmland, woodland, and sprawling metropolises
Aundair is full of farmland but also happens to be a seat of arcane learning which includes the University of Wynarn and the floating city of Arcanix.
Cyre is Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Movie, the end of the Last War was brought about by its complete and total destruction four years ago. As no living thing can survive there (probably) it's currently the stronghold of the Lord of Blades and his army of Warforged.

Then there are the other nations of Khorviare; the Goblinoid country of Darguun, the druidic Eldeen Reaches, the pirate archepelago of the Lhazaar Principalities, the dwarven nation of the Mror Holds, the jungles of Q'Barra, the Gnomish Zilargo, Halfings' Talenta Plains, the Elven Valenar, the swamplands held by the Orcs in the Shadow Marches, and the monster nation of Droaam.

In any case, you've said Vic is going to Sharn looking for work. Does she have anything lined up or is she going to apply in the Clifftop Adventurer's Guild or the Deathsgate Explorer's Club? Is she looking to be more a bouncer, a town guard or a thug for one of the crime families? Perhaps being a bailiff for one of the detective agencies would be more her speed?

Changingsaint - The fluff of Calemi's patron being a Couatl is perfectly fitting for a believer in the Silver Flame, what did you do for their eyes to fall on you and provide you with your weapon? If you're looking to properly learn and practice magic have you made any contact with either the Esoteric Order of Aureon or the Guild or Starlights and Shadows - have you had correspondence with anyone in Morgrave University regarding research on your divinely gifted blade and the abilities it's unlocked for you? Being another medic who participated in the Last War, did you ever see someone who looked like Rexxy across the battlefield also tending to the wounded on his side?

FoxgirlJay

I imagine Meri's parents worked with the Clifftop Adventurer's guild. While on her hand, she signed on with either them, or Wayfinder's Foundation, and took a trip off to Xen'Drik and Stormreach for a little while.

I'd imagine the adventure/expedition went decently well enough. We're start off at level two, right? I'd say she ran off as a new blooded Sorceror, inexperienced in using her powers for anything other than messing around, and coming back from Xen'drik with a bit more experience under her belt.

Rummy Tum Tum

Firstly, after seeing what you said about orcs and reading up on them, I think I'm gonna play Rex as a half-orc instead of a v.human.

Eldeen Reaches sounds interesting from what I've looked up--and it has lots of orcs and half-orcs to boot. When he left home he could've traveled East into Aundair (which he'd been warned against many times) to get a feel of their lives and see--and maybe even study at--Arcanix, the floating city of arcane study. None of this went well given his relative poorness and the relative snobbiness of the people of Aundair. Could be he was stealing to make himself appear richer and more capable in their society but was caught and challenged to a duel, which he lost, and was promptly arrested after that shame. Then came the priest to pay for his freedom and induct him into their beliefs.

And yeah I'd say he met and saved the life of someone who's now in Sharn. Maybe a changeling whose family had disguised themselves as cousins of a prominent family in Aundair. But the changeling family didn't have enough prominence to avoid the war entirely. I'd say they were a middleborn daughter or son (depending on their mood, being a changeling), which Rex would have in common with them, bringing them to bond as he healed them in triage. And saving their life would have meant keeping the secret that they're a changeling too, which they would've shared in desperation of being found out. This person would have settled in Sharn after the war's end, sent to create ties for their family, even if it means tricking and disguising their way into accessing certain prominent contacts.

Last but not least, could've seen Calemi on the other side, yeah. And speaking of, I'd love a moment like the Christmas Truce in WWI--especially seeing as The Last War is partially based off that war. Maybe on a certain holiday or after some great or horrible event happened, both Aundair and Thrane's sides ceased their pitched battle for a night or a few days, spending time as people and enjoying each other's company while living and letting live.

Chulanowa

I'mma be honest, Misty feels like a cluttered mess to me right now. I brained him up with Waterdeep in mind, and what he is now is kind of a cludge  :-) I really feel like I need to smooth him out (giggity) and Eberron him up by at least 20%.

I'm glad you like the framework though: that'll probably stay in some form or fashion as I tinker (now that I have a weekend hopefully free of anxiety and errands)
