Inspired by this piece of news I'm looking for a social media related catfish story but not with usual cliches....and instead something a little different.

My character is a retired woman who has spent most of her life living in a small town. Now in her 60's, she's felt more lonely than ever, living on her own. Especially now that her relatively mundane and predictable job which shaped up her routine is taken out. So, in order to cure her loneliness, she begins to blog but that eventually leads her into broader world of social media and she ends up creating this young, social media hotgirl personality on her IG/Live YouTube/OnlyFans streams and such using apps like FaceApp or other filters. It takes off beyond her expectations due to an array of factors. Her numerous followers, of course don't know about any of that. There's more to it all that I can elaborate further to prospective partner.

Your Character can be anything, but here's one potential suggestion I have.

One of her earliest fans with whom she has often interacted, even on one on one basis. Maybe they ever in darker spot in life and it was her videos that cheered them up, gave them hope etc and they still remain in touch. The story itself can begin at any point, but one element I would love to explore here is how IM/Text convos can be explored as narrative device in an extended form.

Themes I am looking for are psychological drama, how parasocial relationships are built, the way lines are blurred and how the way we interact has been rapidly changed by the internet in a world of hyper individualism along with some potential romance, it's an open ground. Could even go for a sort of a conwoman angle if we want, many ways this could be taken!

Update, March, 2022: Here's a mini addition that I think will make this even more fun is she maybe has a wearable gadget that allows her to move about, do an appearance while 'wearing' the filter. A slightly more advanced option for this would be that of a neural implant which the user can turn on and off.
