Mission Briefing May 8th 2041

The mission was rather simple, take down the cartel from the inside. Couple of highly trained agents should make that task easy enough right? Hell it seemed like a vacation. Head down to Columbia, get a nice room, have a nice meal or two, meet and befriend brutal drug lords. What more could you ask for out of a mission?

Who are we fighting?

Well that would be Cartel de El Diablo, vicious bastards who splintered off a larger cartel in Mexico. At first they played by the rules in Columbia, stayed to themselves, even made a couple friends with other cartels, which provided them with valuable trade routes through South America and into the states. They weren’t even on our radar until last year, when their leader Alejandro Tehran decided that he wanted to cozy up to not so nice actors from the Middle East, and showed up to a cartel meeting with the heads of all the rival bosses in the area. This obviously wasn’t ideal for the hire ups.

So they called for us, obviously having extremely violent and powerful Cartels who have unsavoury friends would not stand for many of the world governments. El Diablo was getting really well known for killing anyone who stood in their way, and now Tehran was trying to run for president of the country, well having him on the global stage would bring nothing but trouble. So a global coalition called us Cerberus.. Not wanting to get their hands dirty with this, they needed something done to have them out of the picture and save some face.

Who are we?

Well we are the worst of the worst right? Mercenaries coming in to fill a role for bigger governments who couldn’t be seen getting their hands dirty in the drug gang. Cerberus Private Security.. Well we were private security like twenty or so years ago. With the advent of so many proxy wars around the globe we've truly become a private army. Hell we have a couple jet fighters, and our own satellite Array to help with intelligence. We come from all around the world, all different backgrounds.. All with the same goals.. Making money.

Too many of us Cerberus became home after our governments betrayed us. Shit pay for fighting their wars, no mental health, no doctors, told us that we were worthless after they chewed us up and spit us out. So fuck them, we’ll take their money and we’ll do their dirty work, but we have something building here. Something real and true, and this is our first step. Our first step in becoming something real and tangible in this fucked up world. Yeah it's drug money, but it’ll be ours. Our land and not dependent on some asshole politician giving it out.

We’ll have contacts on the ground don’t you worry and we’ve made sure you guys will have plenty of gear to get you out of a sticky situation.. Though try and not get yourself in trouble often. We want this done on the low, by the books. The more you make this loud the harder it’ll be on you. So really, treat this like a nice vacation.. Just with a lot more murder and sabotage invloved with it. So for people like you this should sound like a dream.

So that’s the general overview of the story! This is just an idea I had came up with. A near future spy/ military themed roleplay. What I’m looking for is a partner to play alongside my mercenary, in taking down the cartel and controlling the country. In my stories I do like playing..less than savoury characters. Adding on a small addendum to this one here. I'm thinking about doing a mercenary island sort of based off of Metal Gears mother base. There our characters can choose from missions and select from gear. This way we can choose from different characters if we want and a better way to organize npcs. A place for both relaxation or more intense action if you like!
