History: A Louisiana native of Cajun descent, Tanner ended up in New Orleans for work after finishing high school. Not able to attend college due to poor grades and a poor family, he worked a variety of jobs over the years until he found a decently paid one as a bouncer at a few clubs. What was initially intended to be a temporary situation became permanent as he adapted a little too well to the New Orleans nightlife scene.

Through a series of unfortunate encounters, Tanner found himself in a precarious situation after he inadvertently insulted an Ancient, causing their ire. Consequently, Tanner became a servant to this Ancient and was enlightened about the existence of such beings, which scared and scarred him. Now stuck in a situation he does not want to be in, he has to figure out how to escape but also stay alive while for now he is docilely serving his master.
