Question on

Concealment: It is vital all Ancients keep their existence hidden. Those who find out must be killed and covered up. Failure to do so is punishable by torture or death.

Does this mean that abilities, if the can pass for human, or are they strictly forbidden from going out.

All Ancients have an inherrent ability to shapeshift as per:

"Abilities: All Ancients have several traits. They can all shapeshift into a single human appearance at will though they can only maintain this appearance for a few hours unless they are a stronger shapeshifter. They are universally more durable, fast, and strong than humans though to varying degrees. They age considerably slower. Ancients are relatively disconnected from much of human morality."

They can all live semi-normal lives if they really want to. They can conceal themselves as a human for probably around 8-12 hours at a push, enough to get through a normal work day.

As per:

"Although many Ancients forego employment they are encouraged into positions of potential information or influence without putting themselves on the main stage. Jobs like bar tending or sex work up to therapy and even behind the scenes political staff, law enforcement, and federal agency jobs are encouraged to gain more knowledge or influence or simply to blend in."

They are fairly actively encouraged to work in positions that might benefit the Enclave.

I can definitely see the question though - that rule is in reference to the specific fact they are Ancients. So no using magic or transforming in public, no using powers in a way that cannot be explained without causing unwanted interest.

I will say I am interested in the sexual aspect of this, and not the violence or gore - and I would create a character accordingly.  As far as the ancients copulating with humans.  It sounds like they might feed off the emotions of the act - but is there anything else they gain from it?  Or, would that be up to the players as they create ancients?

This is fine provided you can find the right people to write opposite, hopefully someone will suit your particular wants on that front.

The Ancients have something to gain by breeding with humans certainly (Any offspring of that would be an Ancient - they can only breed with humans), they have something to gain if they inspire adoration or fear in the human during the sex, too.

Aside from that anything more would be player discretion. Someone could create an Ancient based on Incubi, Succubi, Kitsune, or character based on any of the wide variety of folklore/myths that heavily involve sex. That character may need sex to survive or at least to use their powers. If you would like a dynamic like that you're welcome to try to see if anyone might be interested in creating an Ancient like that or to create one yourself.

Good question. Not really, no. They are supposed to be a 1200 year old order who are totally outside of public knowledge so anything identifiable would just pose an added risk.

I see that Ancients can be born but can they be made? Like for legends that are spirits of someone who died. If not can someone not know they're an Ancient until a tragedy triggers their awareness of their true self?

Should sheets be PMed or posted here?

Not a priority for my character idea but for general knowledge how do the Master slots get filled (giggles immaturely)? Like if more than one person wants a position.

Ancients are always the offspring of a human + an Ancient. That's the only way they can be created. They're not 'actually' undead even if the legend says they are a ghost or undead. (They may have traits like being incorporeal, cold to the touch, no heart beat etc.)

There's very low chances of someone not knowing they are an Ancient since they have to actively try to conceal themselves as a human to pass as human. Ancients wouldn't let a human raise one since it would risk them being outed.

Sheets should be PM'd to me.

I'm going to do a bit of re-organizing on the master/lord positions. I will take into account reliability and post rates when someone requests either of those positions - those characters need to be active and consistent. They can be requested/reserved but I may decline a request if I don't think someone has the activity/consistency to keep the position active. (If they later show that they do I may then let them take a master/lord position.)
