I just read a book that I felt had some possibilities. A portal is opened into our reality from a parallel universe. But the beings from this universe are very smart Neanderthals. Genetically they are very close to us but do have some obvious differences. They also have some very attractive qualities. I'd like to develop a story about first contact.
