As the title says. I've been trying, but to no avail. Is it just that we can't do that, or have I been doing the code incorrectly?

You can put images in your signature. They must be uploaded to E's Wiki and they cannot be larger than 500 x 100 pixels. When you grab the link from E's Wiki, drop the 's' in the 'https' in the url.
