And one day... It just happened...

People just changed.  It was like a lycanthropy novel gone wrong.  Not to say everyone became wolves, some were mice, some horses, a fox here and there.  If it was an animal, a human became part of one.  At least that's what happened to about two thirds of the population, the remaining third remained human.  Life as we knew it was different.  No one felt different, besides the fact that they were now Anthro of an animal.  Some doctors attested it to an unknown disease, others said a more primal side of the human brain began to take part,  what ever caused it however wasn't over.  2 years since "The Happening" passed and the world seemed to adapt like it always did.  Besides the small sects of hate groups, not unlike the current ages, life started back up like nothing happened.

That was until the shadows appeared.  It wasn't until the 3rd year, that the eerie mist settled in across the earth.  No one really took notice of it until it happened, until what historians will call "The Dark Fall" happened.  From the fog came other worldly monstrosities.  Demons only from fairy tales, began to materialize and wreak havoc on the world.  Instantly half the population fell to the darkness.  That was 3 years ago.  The world has since plummeted into a chaotic apocalyptical wasteland filled with humans, anthros, and demons.  For the humans, fear of monsters and anthros alike, let alone cannibalistic humans threatens your every turn.  for the anthros, the demons seem to favor your flesh the most, yet humans still hate you, blame you for all of this.  Some of your own kind sell you out, while others fear the worse.

Can your group survive and find out what in the literal hell is going on?

Welcome to Furry-Ocalypse, a freeform group or solo rp.  I'd like for this to kick off as a group game, however if there is limited interest I wouldn't mind taking this solo.  I'd prefer this be on Discord, however if there is enough interest, the forum threads will also work.

I do have a few concepts that are not make or break to add to this story line.

One such concept is that my character has remained human, while his daughter has taken on the form of an Anthro. what kind of difficulties will they overcome? There is the possibility of this being incestual (both in solo or in a group)

I'd like for this to have a mix of about 7 members, myself included.  Mix meaning male/female/other ratio as well as anthro /  human ratio.

It's been an awfully long time since I was last on here, but if that doesn't bother anyone I might be interested in throwing myself into this...
Love the concept and setting your going with, and throwing in racial divisions makes it so much more enticing.
Only reason I say I 'might' be interested is because I have mixed feelings about roleplaying through discord... but I can probably convince myself to suck it up and go with it... maybe. Oh, and at the moment I'm leaning a bit more towards a human since it's what I'm more comfortable with, but not entirely sure.

Does a furry retain their animal characteristics, or is it just cosmetic? Like, if I were a dog would I have enhanced vision at night? If I were a horse, would I have hooves or hands?

Do furries refer to themselves as the animal name or something else?

haha its ok, I'm open to however people wish to portray their anthros. Your character can be a normal girl who becomes a dog girl and has all the senses of the dog.  Or you can be a horse anthro with just the looks but no abilities. 

Remember, everyone was once human before some of them became anthromorphic.

Race: Formerly Hispanic American, currently a chiropteran.
Small Bio: Kiara Hernandez-Styles was a former special education teacher, herself moderately autistic but having developed coping strategies and a functional lifestyle with the help of nurturing family and therapists, who had been on a confident upswing in her life prior to The Happening.

The Happening unwound most of what she'd worked hard to achieve in her life- the new suite of animalistic instincts and more powerful sensory systems are incredibly taxing on her mind, and she quickly retreated from most of civilization, unable to cope and fearing prejudice. She has since become a mostly opportunistic scavenger and wanderer, preferring her own company and becoming increasingly paranoid and strange as she remains without contact for extended periods of time. Her combat skills are average, but her suffering from constant sensory overload can often give her the dubious advantage of lapsing into feral, almost self-destructive combat rage that often leaves her emotionally devastated after the fact. She's ended up developing an addiction to painkillers, as their emotional numbing effects make it easier to tolerate her own existence and stay functional.

With the recent descent of the fog and it becoming harder and harder to avoid civilization for fear of her safety in the lonelier places of the world, Kiara has a choice to make.
Gear: She keeps two sets of clothes- for personal comfort and self-care she rotates the precise pieces one for one when she swaps one outfit out to wash or air dry the other. The first is what amounts to a travel cloak fashioned out of raw muslin that she's clumsily hemmed, with a sports bra and shorts. The second is an old piece of A$AP Rocky merch- a tee with a stylized American flag- and heavily faded and mud stained jeans with holes on the knees. She uses the same reliable pair of combat boots for both outfits.

As a scavenger her 'inventory' typically rotates- but she scavenges whatever she can into the same set of carefully maintained old containers- shampoo bottles, Tupperware, water bottles, so on. Keeping the containers the same is another little semblance of control she can take some comfort in. Most important to her is her stock of painkillers- she'll often prioritize these over even food.
Weapons: Her own Ruger Mark IV, where she can semi-regularly scavenge new .22 ammunition, but she uses it only sparingly and isn't a particularly great shot, often only emptying the clip in combat when her poise collapses. She also keeps a combat knife and a machete.
Skills: Handyman (sewing, simple repair), scavenging and recycling.
Fears: Her fear of getting close to other people is predicated on her own struggles with social situations and lack of ability to easily read people- she's fairly sure she'll be easily taken advantage of, as she was when she was younger and still struggling with her autism. She's also fundamentally empathic to painful degrees, and does not want to hurt or burden others. She also hates that she is addicted to painkillers, and fears that it will lead to her ruin in the long run.
Connections: Kiara has not been rejected by her family, and she can still count their home as a safe and fortified place that is also self-sufficient, with it's own generator and fenced backyard fortified and repurposed into a small farm. The home itself is very well-disguised by being partially concealed by the partial cave in of a nearby small office building- one has to know where to look to find an entrance through the rubble into the home. Kiara's family all remain human, her mother, father, and two younger siblings all staying alive and keeping hidden for their own protection. Kiara will be very loathe to lead anyone to this place of relative respite.

I love it! And the the blood play idea is something that is fine with myself. 

I plan to put this in the exotic extreme section since this will have horror elements to it.

I'm really happy to see that this has received a fair bit more interest since I last hopped in, since it seems like something that has a lot of potential. I'm actually surprised that there aren't a lot more wanting to jump in.
It's been awhile since I tried Discord roleplays, so if things do end up going that way my interest probably won't change. But if we do go with threads I'm certainly not going to be complaining. :)

I'll work on filling in the character sheet sometime later today (or tomorrow).
But I do have a quick question on how you're planning to run this? Since you've got a fair bit of interest now, I'm guessing it's pretty safe to assume it's not going to be run solo. But were you thinking of running this as a small group of character (I think you mentioned 7 people) that ultimately travel through the world on an adventure. Or as a sandbox thing where people will do whatever the setting allows them to? Or has that not been decided yet?

Whatever it counts for I think I'd endorse we keep this to threads. We have a number of folks here already, not all of whom may be comfortable sharing Discords! I know I'm a bit leery of giving mine out, more often than not. As for what Rynn said, I think a sandbox would be better if Chree has no overarching plot in mind? It may be better anyways if, like, every single person who's expressed interest so far makes a proper application. Otherwise that'd be a huge ass group in a single thread.

I'm fine with chatting OOC on discord once the ball gets rolling but I'm partial to threads myself, since I can get a bit wordy at time and the 2000 character limit on Discord will screw me over.

As far as plots/sandboxes go, I think plots are preferable in general over the sort of feeling of "OK, now what?" you get with sandboxes, but I think that in this case there's plenty of stuff to do, so it's probably not hugely important (?). Don't quote me on that though!

They're demonic monstrosities you haven't a clue where they came from.  I'm going to say no to the magics.  Doesn't mean though, that your character can't have enhanced abilities due to the animal part of them.
