Hey all,

I've uploaded a gif to the wiki to be used as an avatar. When I upload it, it is in motion, and when I originally downloaded and viewed it the result was the same; but now I've added it to the account, the image is still and not moving. Tried the same with another gif and it worked fine, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Lovely Complex

Do you have something like imgur and imgbb that you can save it too and try it that way?

If not, I can try to see what I can do for you. :)

I'm afraid I do not. :-( I appreciate the help!

Try to save it to your computer then upload it to the Wiki and see if that helps. :)

I did that. :-) Still shows as a proper gif in all other places, but when I put it on my profile the image just doesn't move.

Tried using the one you've linked above too, but still doesn't move.  :-\

Did you try it with the image I have? I know that ezgif sometimes doesn't work.

GIFs have to be uploaded to the Elluiki in order to work. Make sure you’re specifically saving it as a .gif and uploading it as a .gif to the Elluiki too?

It's the current image I'm using. Not moving for me. :-[

I double-checked both when I uploaded them a second time to be sure, and believe I added .gif to each. This is why it's confusing the hell out of me, because I tried with a different gif to check and it worked fine.

It might be too large. Try removing a few frames from the gif. I know that has prevented gifs from working here on E.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure how to do that. :-[

If you PM the url for the gift, I'll resize it for you.

You could do that with ezgif.com, the feature is called frames.

I dunno why it isn’t working too, I just tried using the Elluiki link for my avatar and it wouldn’t upload it. Maybe PM a Wikimin? Blythe and Britwitch are two of them, not sure who else is.

I also tried to upload the image and it did the same for me. :(

Hope that Blythe or Brit can help you out though, Malkavian! :D

Seems you were right: removing a frame got it to work!
