So here is the thing, I have always done my writing in form of mostly sexually driven in a number of few different settings but primarily Slice of life format, compiled of various plots n pairings and I have done this over the span of many many moons and I've gotten stuck in this way of writing. Why?  Well, it all starts with the reason why I am here to begin with, write out some sexual fantasies that would otherwise realistically never happen.

On the flip side of things as I've gotten older and tastes change indefinitely, I want to open my horizons to less strictly sexual focused RP and more fun things like Action//Horror//Horror-esque Adventure stories where I have some great inspirational pics and gifs to pull from for ideas.  This where the problem lies, I have very very limited experience in this so my writing and creative muse juices are on the low end plus things tend to fall flat and I become bored with them before things have a chance to get more interesting BECAUSE I AM TOO used to the long routine of always playing the sexual focused RPs that I always fall back to.

So I would appreciate any insight / advice / guidance on how/what I can do to get out of this narrow hole and start having more fun engaging DIFFERENT aspects of RP and not fall trap of getting bored with the beginning and fall back to my old ways.

Now I know for what I'm about to ask isnt meant for this forum specifically but is tied to this topic at same time so;

I'd also like to try to seek people who are willing to help me practice my writing skills in a different setting,  challenge me, and kinda coach me with how I can improve my creative writing with both quality and quantity of content I bring. All I ask from my writing partners is patience and willing to communicate. I understand people have IRL stuff to worry about but with my experience, people have very little courtesy of communicating of whats going on and as to why they may be MIA for a period of time.

This is an interesting overall question. Or maybe I find it as such because I've always had the reverse problem. Straight up slice of life with heavy smut tends to make me bored as can be. I need a central theme and plot to work around to help make the words go. I usually pair them with an action backdrop or otherwise a quest or goal that the story is meant to work towards. Without that goal or quest, any story tends to get pretty boring for me.

I'd suggest first you start planning stories around a plot or goal as described above. Make it the first step of the story and then add what excites you about the cast you envision actually tackling this threat. Many Lords and Ladies on E prize romance to pair alongside these plots, so adding a budding romance between the protagonists as they work toward the goal can be a big help. It's something common that comes up.

Other than that, find some media inspirations that circulate what excites you about the story. Leave the fetish and other smutty inspirations at the door, cause trust me, those are a lot easier to insert on this site than we think. I would also suggest maybe working to change your mind on how you view it. You mentioned being here to write sexual fantasies that would realistically never happen. Replace that thought process with "I wanna tell stories I'd otherwise never get the chance to tell."

As for the last part, I'd honestly add that to a one on one request with maybe a link back to this thread. You'll run into much more of your target audience in that area of the forum. I'd also pair it with with a few story starters. Maybe add some details to each about what aspects of the story are exciting for you to explore and that you're looking for someone to push your current writing ability and you wanna go all out.

I'm also noting you might have some frustrations on people having issues pop up and not getting in touch with you about it. I'd just warn that such is part of forum writing. I myself always try to give my partners a warning and an idea of when I'll be back, but I fail on this more than often than I succeed. Usually all I manage is a warning on my A/A that it's coming. People do not usually plan such absences and while it sounds shitty, it's kinda hard to expect that when they feel like everything is falling apart, that they'll remember and find it a top priority to message their RP partners.

Some great insight here! Thank you for your input and noted!  :)

One-Shot stories are ideal for dipping into an unfamiliar element (be that theme, style, genre, whatever). Small scope, short commitment, and if it takes off, it can always keep going.

If you're having trouble finding enough plot elements to sustain a story that won't revolve around sex, you can try using a piece of literature or other entertainment as a springboard. What would happen if X event had never happened? Spin the plot away from the established narrative, create a sequel, or a prequel, make up some original characters and look at the setting from their perspectives. Stories are not about events or ideas, they are about people. Start with real people, and things are bound to happen.

(Also, discuss with your partner. Even if you like to leave things up in the air and just play off the last post, being in an unfamiliar setting will require more comparing of notes in the background.)
To go in the dark with a light is to know the light.
To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

Also, if you want to experiment with a genre, you can make use of the Storytelling Forum.  Start writing a scene and see where it goes.  If it sparks something, it's perfectly okay to take the idea and roll it into an RP request.

I assume in the slice of life roleplays, the goal is to end up in bed with someone. You have an active thing you're writing towards.

I wonder if you become bored with other games because you're joining games with an interesting general premise, but you don't have a particular character/writing goal you're trying to reach. Even when you do find a purpose for your character, do any other characters have a reason to care or help out? I have found on occasion that my problem stems from liking the game concept, but not really having a good idea of what my character wants to do in it other than react to world events.

Good insight,  but the thing is also is with my sexual games,  they are slice of life deal so there is no end goal and doesnt stop at sex and its not totally about the sex, they have plot to them as well, they just have a strong sexual underline to it.

Not really - slice of life can be purely PG.  It's just simply a story that follows the characters through everyday situations.

You're right. I only said it that way because it was mentioned the roleplays were primarily sexually driven.

Tis true but like Oniya said,  it's more than that. It's everyday situation storytelling and my RPs are not 100% smut.
