I work for an ISP and while we don't interact often with Google, we do have to keep track of their outages. Luckily, Google provides its own tracker, so if you have any issues, you can check this:

https://www.google.com/appsstatus#hl=en&v=status

Since Google has a lot of services (and how scary that is is a topic for another day), it helps to know what's not working and what might be happening. No question or anything, I just thought this might be handy.

That's cool! Thanks for posting!

(Also no comment on the scariness)

Thanks :) That's a useful page. All the things Google track is kind of scary.

Mine didn't actually go down. I'm a Google One subscriber so wondered if it might've had something to do with it, but it could've been anything.

You wouldn't know unless someone who tried sending to you told you, and it almost certainly did. It was Google's primary MX network that went haywire, it had nothing to do with any individual user. Business users were also impacted.

I had a few businesses call into our company (I work for an ISP), they confirmed it affected them, because they were trying to send to gmail accounts.

Worst of all, I didn't get a confirmation that the Chipotle someone bought me for my birthday went through ;_;

Okay, in that case it likely did. Hopefully they've sorted out the problem now.
