This video and the movie it is taken from have entranced me since discovering it earlier this week. It is a concept I really want to play with. I love dragons, I love Beauty and the Beast style stories, and I also really love the idea of having an island base built from the bones of ancient ancestors. So the question is what am I looking for? Let's get to answering that. Who I want to play will be noted in red.
Who: Dragon/F or Futa or Trap
Genre: Fantasy (dark, high, sword & sorcery, urban, or low)
Inspiration: ThisWhat I want is the Dragon and the Maiden trope. I have a lot of half formed ideas for where the story goes but I need you to help me complete them. Your maiden to my dragon. What I am sure of is that this will be a romance story between our characters. Who your character is is up to you. You can be human or elf or whatever you prefer. I will be a shapeshifting dragon. But the how and the why of how they come together will drastically change the scope of the story. Let me toss out some ideas.
- At your bridal ceremony to the dashing Not-Gaston the gathered people sing an ancient song who's origin had been lost. They didn't know it would summon the dragon to take her as his bride. Now you have a hero hunting the dragon down. Possible war brewing if your character and he were particularly high ranking. Like a political marriage between two nations interrupted? And maybe someone slipped that song into the ceremony on purpose? Someone who didn't want the marriage to happen? Or someone who just wanted your character out of the way?
- Perhaps YC (your character) is the new Queen but your bastard brother (or some such individual) is building towards an attempt at taking the throne. YC believing rightly that she cannot trust the courtiers - after all your father died surrounded by them - turned towards a potential ally she'd read years ago. Stories that spoke of a great dragon that lived of the coast and had made deals with her line before. So YC could be coming to me to become allies.
