Anyone else had a problem with threads suddenly deciding to notify you, seemingly on their own? I suddenly started getting tonnes of emails from E, and I've discovered that pretty much every thread I've interacted with in the last 24 hours has been set to notify me on response. Specifically those I've posted in- just looking at a thread doesn't seem to do it.Now, I mighta done that once or even twice by accident, but it's a feature I seldom if ever use, so i certainly didn't set like 15 threads to do that...

*EDIT* including this one. Is there an auto-notify button I might have hit somewhere by accident?

NM, I found it.

Still have no idea how it got turned on, though, since I've never used it in the past.

I got it too, and found the "Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic." checkmark was checked in the Account Settings - Notifications section, I take it that's the issue and unchecking it fixes it?

I checked and mine was set too when I had it unchecked previously.

We just had that server reset thing; maybe it reset that setting for folks? Is that a thing?

This reply didn't result in me getting an email, so I'll take that as a good sign it worked. :)

I toggled the setting 'for new members' but it seems to have impacted everyone. : /

Thank you for the information Beatrice, was driving me nuts. Just unchecked it. hope it works. Didn't even remember we had a settings page. This just started yesterday or the day before, if anyone is interested.
