A golden light pours out from an intricate archway before you. From the archway a figure steps forward and bows before you before speaking.

"You have been chosen to save our world from the greatest evil ever known, and bring peace back to our people. But I warn you, it will not be an easy journey. If you wish to turn back, you have but one chance to do so. Once you have made your decision to stay, it cannot be undone."

"What say you?"

Welcome everybody to the interest check for the game called Dragonia Online. It is a fantasy themed VRMMORPG where you and a party of adventurers will attempt to defeat the Demon King and his armies of monsters. The game will be divided into floors and each floor has a number of locations. The goal is to level up your character and defeat the floor boss in order to move up to the next level. Each time you level up you gain an ability point. Each ability point will be allocated to a number of different powers and abilities which your character decides to invest in.

There are no set rules about focusing your abilities towards a certain role type. For instance you could be a paladin which focuses on defensive magic. Or you could be a paladin with a few defensive magic abilities but you also have a few stealth skills as well.

This a free form game so there are not that many rules. More like general guidelines that can help give you guys some structure to follow.

Zephysempai and I will be your GM's and we will facilitate the main story events, and otherwise make sure anything you do makes sense within the confines of the game. We also will issue all quests on the board in your local guild. To start there are only two guild houses. One is more light hearted and the other more shady. If our numbers are sufficient enough in the future I might add another guild.

Generally speaking the monsters in this game are "evil" but a few monster species exist which are not inherently evil. You can play as an adventurer, an NPC, or even as a baddie if you want. I am open to hearing your ideas on that matter.

Any sexual act will give you experience points. Any sexual act done with someone you love will give you a ton of experience points. Thus sex is now an integral part to the game and must be put into the equation for leveling up.

The world of Krell does allow for multiple partners. This is backed up by two main religions which profess the way of the harem. One is the more light based group known as "The Ordinal Codex". And the other is the more dark based group known as the "Velum".

The experience you gain per quest completion will be stated on the quest sheet posted onto the wall in your local guild. Any kills, gambling, or otherwise unscripted events you guys do will have to be allocated experience by you. Obviously don't award a whole bunch of points for a simple fetch quest. No GM can be around 24/7 to help allocate experience points for every single player action. Any obvious exaggeration of points or repeated "gifting" of legendary equipment will be punished by a temporary ban. Any repeated offenders will be banned from the game for that calendar year.

When you post for the first time in a real life day you are "logged into the system". Your character appears in the last place where your character was standing. When you are done posting for the day you will be "logged off" and your character disappears. This allows for writers to continue playing even if the other player is gone. It will be just like a real game in that instance. Miss too many days in the game and you could fail your quest or have one of your party members die. So I do encourage players to post as often as they can. At least once a week.

UPDATE #2 The game begins Monday, April 27th at 8PM Est. If you want to be there for the opening day then I would suggest putting together your character sheet(s) and submitting them as soon as you can. After the initial day the recruitment thread will stay up for an additional few weeks. So if you can see this then we are still looking for new players.

DRAGONIA ONLINE MAP OF DROGON:

Thanks for reading and I wish you guys a great day! ^_^

Silk

Colour me interested! :)

As a first question, how do the two guilds interact with eachother if at all? Is it just a sort of faction system or are the two guilds actively antagonistic to eachother and trying to bring eachother down?

GreenMoonKing

Hellooo Silk. ^_^

The two guilds are Silver Dragon and Iron Claw. Silver Dragon awaits in the bustling city of Everglade. For over a hundred years they have fought against the forces of darkness and kept the peace in the city. They are the do gooders and live by a code of ethics much like the knights of yore.

Iron claw on the other hand is off the beaten path near Mt. Cragmoore. They live inside a large cavern at the heart of the mountain. Iron Claw's are known for being brutal in battle and don't normally take prisoners. They are kill or be killed type of monster hunters. Although they do take the occasional escort quest because of the high amount of gold involved, they normally stick to kill quests.

Silver Dragon and Iron Claw butt heads often in the world of Krell. They both take out monsters and want to progress to the next floor. However, they don't see eye to eye when it comes to keeping the peace and saving every single life. Iron Claws get the job done and are not afraid of casualties. Silver Dragons want to save everybody and always value all forms of life. They only kill monsters that are obviously evil. They also bring in criminals to be judged and imprisoned. Whereas Iron Claws just kill the criminals and get it over with.

Iron Claws also value gold and wealth. They'll do anything for a price. Silver Dragon on the other hand values community, friendship, love, and honor.

Hopefully that helps distinguish them a bit better.

If you guys have any more questions then feel free to ask anytime.

I'm so glad this RP is getting some interest. :D I can't wait to share the world of Krell with everybody.

GreenMoonKing

Thanks for showing interest lux89. ^_^ I've added the races to the original post. We can add and move around races as we see fit.

SilkenVenom

So, what exactly is the difference between playing an adventurer, NPC or monster?

Do NPC's (who technically wouldn't be NPC's if we are the ones playing them) and monsters only get a single appearance? I'm not entirely sure what you have in mind for non-adventurers.

TheBlackThrone

Hmmmm.....you have my interest. You offer such a nice customizable variety.  ^-^

Are the Yunarian's like the Khajiit or are they more like nekos?

SilkenVenom:

An adventurer is one who is generally speaking a person from our world whom is tasked with a number of quests. Their goal is to help defeat monsters in order to work their way down to the Demon King.

NPC's are villagers, nobles, blacksmiths, etc. They are the people who live in these cities and die in these cities. They are the people that the adventurers are trying to save. I was going to have the GM's play all the NPC's, but I thought I might leave the option out there for someone to just be a farmer if they want. The option is there to "incarnate" into the game as a farmer and completely negate the whole adventuring thing. They don't have to. The vast majority of players want to be adventurers and that's fine.

Also NPC's can show up many times. Basically the player chooses to make their character behave however they want. Thus in a way not making them NPC's.

Perhaps the distinction would be, adventurer or regular citizen.

Monsters on the other hand are made to either serve the demon king or otherwise survive in a world where so many people want them dead simply because of how they look. There is a chance someone could "incarnate" as a monster and refuse the summons of the demon king.

TheBlackThrone: Thank you, I do try to please. Plus I like a world rich with culture and many different kinds of people. Yunarians are indeed very much like khajitt from Elder Scrolls. They are humanoid in shape and are nearly completely covered in patterns of fur. They also sport a feline snout and fluffy cat like ears. Their pupils are also slits like a cat allowing them to see more easily in the dark.

The one difference between them and the khajitt is that the women are all super cute and slender instead of muscular and made for war. The women in their culture love to take care of the children and keep up with the chores of the household. Only in dire times do they take up arms. There have been known in the Yunarian culture to have those with warrior spirits. Women who want and desire to fight alongside her brothers. An Amazonian like Yunarian woman.

Chulanowa

So if i udnerstadn right, basically all the listed creatures are open for us to play, but only those under "adventurers" are commonly-seen as PC's?

Asking 'cause, y'know, if I can't have kobolds, gnomes or halflings, then fae and goblins will do the trick...  ;D Gotta have those characters that can sneak under a subway turnstile!

GreenMoonKing

Chulanowa: We can have gnomes and kobolds and halflings. I'll add them to ze list.
"The veil that separates us from the supernatural, is thinning more and more every day."

TheBlackThrone

How do you feel about the player joining the game as the opposite gender? You know how some gamers prefer to play the opposite sex due to character creation? XD

That's fine with me. I'm sure they'll be a few traps so I'm kewl with it.

Yes Silk, kobolds. :P

GreenMoonKing

Of course you guys can have multiple characters. The more the merrier. ^_^

Also do you guys like using anime pictures for your characters or more realistic pictures?
"The veil that separates us from the supernatural, is thinning more and more every day."

Silk

I tend to lean more towards Anime/cartoon/drawn just because there is quite a lot more creativity in the characters, With more realistic ones, you don't quite have the same pool to work from.

Vanetias

I am interested, but my main discord account is full of severs. I may need to use my backup discord acc.

Because the character is assuming the form of a video game character, I would use anime or digital art for the player character.  For the actual person playing the game, photography.

GunmetalDreamer

Just to clarify, is the Bio on the character sheet for the VRMMO player, or the in-game character?

ZephySempai

You got me @GreenMoonKing. I've been looking for something like this for a bit of time now. I can't pass it up. I was about to ask a whole bunch of questions, but it looks like they've all already been asked and answered, so thanks everyone else as well :)

If it's fine, I'll test the sheet out by putting together an Adventurer. He'll be a Swordsman/Necromancer. Been playing with the concept in my head for months and I think this might be a nice setting to test him out. See you on Discord!

pendarious

Hey Silk! Hey ZephySempai! how are yall?

I'm interested also wondering is Gnoll available to play as a race? if not that's cool
Psycho Mantis: You must spend every day pretending to act like you're falsely letting on that you aren't not unbetraying someone you don't not purport to allegedly not work for but really do! How do you keep all this shit straight without having an aneurysm?
Revolver Ocelot: *shrug* Practice.

Use of photography is away super-awkward in fantasy games, so I would go with digital / traditional art.

ZephySempai

Took some liberties with the character sheet & the bio. Would NOT recommend copying the structure unless approved by @GreenMoonKing lol. Let me know if there's anything you need me to change or add further details to. Also, hey Pen! Long time. Good to see you.

Character Sheet Basics

Character Type: Adventurer
Character Name: Nomu Nanashomaru
Character Race: Human
Character Age: 23

Character Orientation: Heterosexual

Character Description: Nomu is a hulk of a man. Scars, like badges of honor, adorne his dark skin and speak to his unyielding nature. Many have questioned the humanity of this six foot mass of man & muscle, but have only done so from a distance. Up close, his Humanity is unquestionable. The smile of a man happy to be alive is one most others find relatable. He has a laugh, deep from his gut, that can tickle the sternest of souls into cracking a smile. His inspiring smirk is one that can be easily rallied behind. His shadow is warm to the touch: a refuge from the fires of war and the heat of violence.

Character Personality: A wildling by nature, Nomu goes through life without fear or regret. He lives simply for the pleasure of living and enjoys all the benefits of being alive. While not particularly drawn to glitz and glamour, Nomu is never one to pass by a good party. Money is only a key to unlock the things that bring forth happiness. As much as he hungers for cheer and excitement, he has a thirst that is easily quenched. Whether it be the top of the highest mountain peak, or in a valley of freshly budding flowers, Nomu is satisfied with just being able to touch, taste, and smell the world around him. He has no bounds when it comes to social interactions, either. He says what’s on his mind and, encouraged by his mortality, is very forward with his feelings of attraction towards people.

Though he does whatever he can to surround himself in enjoyment, he is no stranger to hard work. While not the best at planning, Nomu is exactly the type of person you want around when jars need to be opened. He’s cooperative, even though he is not a follower. He’s a leader, though only when none other is available. He is more a lover than a fighter who speaks softly whilst wielding a big stick.

Character Bio: Nomu is a chimera of tropes and stereotypes. He is the son of a farmer with a simple upbringing. A warrior from a far away land. A soldier charged with protecting his kingdom from evil. A corpse left to rot in the ashes of his failure. A soul reanimated by a demonic pact borne of vengeance. His was one of the first kingdoms to fall when the Demon Lord declared war on this plane of existence. His farm burned and his family’s heads piked on display, his life was the least valuable thing stolen on that night. Nomu isn’t sure whether it was a gift or a curse that he met the Succubus whilst floating in the Void. Clawed hands wrapped around his spirit, her salacious voice whispered to his conscious “Return to the world as my Champion. Take vengeance upon he who has stolen so much from you: So much from us. Live and bring to me, that which has caused you such torment. Fetch me his soul in exchange for your own.” Nomu awoke shortly after worlds away from his kingdom in a foreign land. The only hint of his dream being a reality was the marking on his left forearm. Her marking.

Character Focus

Swordsmanship
Nomu is skilled in a variety of weapons from blades to bows, though he generally favors swords. Almost never seen without a two-handed weapon equal to his own size, he is known to carry one-handed weapons as well when fighting in more confined spaces.

Medium/Heavy Armor
In order to increase his survivability on the battlefield, Nomu is known to adorne heavy mails or plate armor. Whichever the situation calls for. He is skilled in both and remains far more nimble than others who lack the disciplined training he possesses.

Consorts with the Dead:
You can ask a question of a dead being whose corpse you are touching. Because the answer comes through the filter of the being’s understanding and personality, it can’t answer questions that it wouldn’t have understood in life, and it can’t provide answers that it wouldn’t have known in life. In fact, the being is not compelled to answer at all, so you might need to interact with it in a way that would have convinced it to answer while it was alive. For each additional Intellect point you spend when you activate the ability, you can ask the being an additional question.

Necromancy:
You animate the body of a dead creature of approximately your size or smaller, creating a level 1 creature. It has none of the intelligence, memories, or special abilities that it had in life. The creature follows your verbal commands for one hour, after which it becomes an inert corpse. Unless the creature is killed by damage, you can reanimate it again when it's time expires, but any damage it had when it became inert applies to its newly reanimated state. If you have access to multiple bodies, you can create an additional undead creature for each additional Intellect point you spend when you activate the ability.

Character Ons & Offs

Character Ons: Women who are high energy. Colored hair. Women who are helpful. A nice smile.

Character Offs: Mean-girls, cliquey girls, and anyone or anything that wants to do him harm.

Nomu doesn’t necessarily favor any one physical trait over another. He is mainly attracted to a person’s personality. Even with that, he isn’t very picky. Shy, quiet, strong-willed, loud, Human, Beast, Demon, it doesn’t really matter to him. He feels like almost all women are beautiful and wishes to use this second chance at life to spend as much time as possible with them. He isn't afraid of embarrassing himself around women, but still paces himself as not to come off as a brute. Nomu constantly forces himself into social situations and continuously works on bettering himself so that one day he might be worthy of all women’s attention.

GreenMoonKing

Anime it is for the character pictures.

Vanetias: Sure thing, whatever discord you use is up to you.

GunMetalDreamer: The bio is the character sheet is for both. I guess it you want to create a separate bio for the player then that would be fine.

Something like:

Character Bio: I am a cute little character bio. :P

Player Bio: I am a human on Earth, duh!

Pendarious: Gnoll? Hmmm, eh why not. We have gnomes, kobolds, fae, and elves. Gnoll is now an official race of Dragonia Online.

ZephySempai: I love your character sheet and I even love how you took the time to add in the character focus for abilities and such. I will change the character sheet to reflect this. Approved! ^_^
