X-Men: A Brave New World

This is the start, friends.  X-Men:  A Brave New World....

Three years ago four friends maneuvered a rocket, into space and came back with wondrous powers. They became Fantastic Four -- the world's first superhumans.

Then came the Avengers. Billionaire Playboy Industrialist Tony Stark known for the powered armor he wears, Iron Man. Thor. the Norse God of Thunder. Hulk, part rampaging beast, part hero. Captain America. Hero from over half a century ago who is a shining beacon of liberty and justice.

Last year a superhuman emerged who used his powers to entertain. Spider-Man ignited crowds with his aerial acrobatics and web-slinging glory, playing in sold out arenas across the tri-state area. It was shortly after he made the jump to televised specials that the media mogul J. Jonah Jameson began an all out campaign against the wallcrawler. Spider-Man gave up his career as an entertainer and instead became a vigilante, cruising the streets of New York and keeping the people safe from super-powered criminals.

Unknown to the world at large super humans are nothing new. Mutants have existed for centuries, keeping their existence hidden from the rest of mankind. A war is being waged between them, a secret war, a cold war. One side stand those who believe that humanity needs to be wiped out or enslaved, and that mutants, or homo superior, are the rightful rulers of this planet. On the other side stand the ardent protectors of mankind. These are the mutants who believe that humans and mutants are one species and are willing to put their own lives on the line to protect humanity. They are the X-Men...

The world is about to learn of the existence of mutants and it will never be the same*....

Now that I have your attention...

Charles Xavier will be younger and still have use of his legs, think late twenties.

Most of the students will be younger as well.  Any that is over twenty has the potential to be a teacher's aid (TA), if desired and depending how many students there are in total.

The likes of Magneto, Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost, Mr. Sinister will all be NPC points of interest, and so off limits for those reasons.  Potentially Mystique as well....

Oh, I have plenty mutants that I absolutely LOVE and really want to see played out. Like Remi and Rogue being together! Unfortunately, I always worry that I will not do them justice. So, I make original characters instead.

Miss "CandyLips" -- I won't twist your arm and force you to play anyone you don't want to.  But....*perks an ear* did I just hear something about a certain Southern Belle??  noNOno, don't teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease me so!  *smile*

It's up to you, but as long as you can write, can do an "accent" for someone like her, I'm sure the rest will play its course?

Please, just Candy is fine. And trust me, I would absolutely love to be opposite of Remi. He's so dreamy! I've played mutants before who have nearly been on that end with him, but as soon as someone takes Rogue as a character I'm like "Grrrrr. True love. Can't keep them apart. MUST WATCH!" Lol!!!

Nah, I'd be a player myself.  Was just going to state this is in the "looking for GM area, instead of looking for players."

@Candy - Rogue is fairly easy to write.  Add sugah every now and then, and pull up a list of Southern colloquialisms and remember she's a BA with a heart of gold.

@Lachiyous - I love the X-Men, and have played a number of the X-women: Jean, Kitty, Rogue, Blink, Polaris, Siryn, Dazzler, and Magma.  Along with a number of gender-bent characters.

The reason I placed the thread here first is because I'm new here.....and since I'm not established yet, I didn't want to be presumptuous enough to feel/think that I would be recruiting for a thread.....when I didn't know if anyone would join yet, y'know??  Might have crossed that bridge now though! :)  Any thoughts on a gal that might catch your eye....?

X-Men, Avengers, anything superhero, really, is always a hot commodity around here.

I'd like to know more about the story before I pick a character.  Is it going to be more social, or have an overarching plot?  How are battles going to be decided?  Which characters will best fit into the story?

For those inquiring about the plot/story/anything-beyond-the-vague-'alternate" notions I've barely divulged............I am going to do a little surgery on my first post in this thread.  That should help entice, enlighten, and hopefully encourage everyone here!  Thanks gang :)
