Dark forces and the Mercenaries that play together (freeform, fantasy, horror)

Story:

The mission was simple.  Find our way into the ruins of the Zalryn Kingdom, fight whatever creatures inhabit the area only if necessary.  Obtain the item, described by the client as a jeweled egg. Take just the egg, nothing more, nothing less.  Simply return with the item, and receive the money promised by the client.

Yet what should group do when they four of them find a what appears to be a female chained to a wall in the old temple that holds the item.  Dark symbols etched about.  She seems feral, partially nude except for a ragged loin cloth, speaking in a language the group cant comprehend.  What's weirder is the bodies that that lay about seem to be shriveled as if their insides were sucked clean. 

Does the group just leave her? Are they as safe as they think they are? Who is this woman? What evil forces are at work here.



This story takes place in high fantasy realm.  Creatures of all types can be found here. However, the world is far from safe.  The rich and or common folk live behind protected walls.  However, the wildlands are a reckless place where people never venture alone.

Guilds of mercanaries are where one would go to seek protection in these badlands or for retrieval of forgotten items. 

We will be one of these groups, a smaller and lesser known batch of adventurers.  What I'm seeking is a group of polyamorous adventures.  The main goal of the story is to find out and stop the hidden darkness that's about to unleash on the world. This wont be just a smut story, however I'm hoping the group as a whole can have fun. 

Character wise, I'll be playing the role of a human ranger.  He is 2nd in command of the group.  What I'd like to have is 3 more characters of different races and classes to take on the other roles of the group.  The commander can be male or female. Yet for the initial group of like an even balance of men to women.  Then comes our 5th, she can be any race as well, however I picture her being more of a shaman/druid type.

Whoever ends up playing the 5th, I'll PM you separately with some inside information for her.

If I gain enough interest, I'll post a character sheet.

Gear: Two pistols, holsters, gloves leather cloak, armored corset, leather pants and boots, swanky feathered hat. All clothing has pockets and storage to keep small items/money.

Ammunition (1x 20 regular bullet pack, 5 holy bullets, 2 bleeder bullets (cause continual harm , 5 tracking bullets (they leave a mess)

History:  An act of dishonesty on the part of a close family friend left Calistra feeling resentful and distrusting of her own kind. She was not one for swords or spells, favoring a new technology. A mentor treating with violence lead to long-term distrust of authority and a turn away from magic indefinitely.

The elf had many friends growing up due to being outgoing and charismatic, it also afforded her connections for work and to hone her craft.

Fears: Being used again, ending up alone

A little note to everyone applying. We are, as a group, seasoned adventurers.  Even though we all have been together for quiet some time, we all did have a past that some of us may know nothing about.  Feel free to PM me any key background aspects youd like for me to spin into the story.  Could be an item you're looking for, or a bad guy you want kill.

Also, as far as gear goes. We're not an overly rich adventuring group (i.e. the part about our little mercanaries guild being in the slums)

That being said, and once more stating, we are seasoned adventures. We have magical items. Some normal that others may have, one or two may be ancient relics. Just please above all make it reasonable.
