Logging On
« on: November 23, 2019, 03:04:15 pm »
When I log onto E, I go right in and begin my usual fun: reading PMs, Bookmarks, whatever.  About 50% of the time I'll go to a tab, hit it and I'll find myself back at a log in screen.  I log in again and when I do, I go right to the page I wanted to go to before I was logged off.  In a worse case scenario, I might answer a PM, hit send...and then Im tossed out.  This, of course, make me lose what I had just written and can be very frustrating.

Is this something with my computer/wifi?  Or is it related to the site?

Thanks for your help.

Debbie

When you log in, are you making sure that you’re clicking “always stay logged in”? There’s also a timer that you can set that will log you out after XX amount of minutes. You can see that if you log out and click the login button to go to the full screen login page.

Initially, I go to a link that takes me to a sign-on screen.   Username and password only.  As I mentioned, this works at least half of the time with no issues for my entire session.  Sometimes though, after one or two tabs that I go to, it will just take me out of mt session and make me sign in again.  On those occasions, I do get the opportunity to check off the “Always stay logged in” box, and I always put in the check mark.

This seems to happen randomly, and if no one else is having this issue, then it must be something with me alone?

Thank you for your help!

That is odd. I’ve never had that happen to me before. Are you on an insecure Internet connection? Maybe it keeps connecting and disconnecting...?

I won’t pretend to be a computer expert :P cause my knowledge of that stuff is limited. Maybe someone else knows.

I have a good internet connection for the most part.  But expert or not, you’ve helped me.  No one else seems to have this issue.  So I think it must be unique to me.

At least I can get onto the site!

Thanks for taking time to answer and help, I appreciate it.

It looks like this is occurring in Edge? Is this happening in any other browser for you?

My guess would be to check if you have any privacy/safety settings that might be resetting your session cookie.

Thank you Vekseid.    You are correct, this is only happening on Edge.  My Ipad has no issues.  I will check the privacy settings and see if there is anything thing blocking cookies etc.

Checked....I am set to allow all cookies....

Thanks for your help as well.  I appreciate it

Does it happen on Chrome/Firefox on the same machine?

It should be pretty straightforward, anyway. >_>

My only other thought is maybe you have an antivirus with a privacy extension?

Thanks for the insights.....let me poke around a bit and see if I can discover anything, or give you something more concrete with which to deal in solving this.

Thanks!
