Well, it is Thanksgiving and people usually spend it getting Full Tummy Syndrome, bothering family and so on.

I'm working on Dasha's CS and trying to remember what I may be missing. It's hard to believe that when you do it in word that it's multipages, so I'm working on condensing it.

There are times when I wish that these things could be done with a screen reader and an app.

Being Literate is the ability to read and understand a language. When you ask for literate, what you are looking for is Verbosity, which is the ability to use lots of words without actually saying very much... like politicians. I consider myself both literate and verbose.

Ah, right. Non-American, regular work week. Other than the "I swear turkeys could fly" jokes on facebook it sort of slipped my mind. Turkey it up, y'all.

Working on the CS at the moment, but my sister will be flying in to visit, so won't get much done the next few days.

Thinking about taking the Folk Hero.  See that I get two sills, would I get those free, or would those count against my total starting amount?

Will probably be going the finesse route.
"Are you into whips and chains too?"
"No, chainsaws."  (just kidding)

Skills granted by Class and skills granted by Background are both applied. Any overlap is unfortunate, but can often (but not always) be avoided by picking skills from Class that aren't granted in Background.

Deja vu?

I could of sworn that I've seen this post somewhere before. ;)

I know we had a bit of a break for American Thanksgiving, but I'm certainly eager to continue here.

A few folks have PM's me characters (full or partial). If you haven't, and you're still interested, can we move forward with that?

And you can post your characters here when you're ready. When we have a crew ready to go, I'll start IC and OOC threads.

Tavarokk

I've had my char mostly finished for a week now (no Thanksgiving here), but I'm having doubts about actually joining, so I'm engaged in fence-sitting until there's more information, from anyone.

knightsdestiny

I'll get on the character creating tonight. I admittedly was procrastinating since I knew it was a holiday for us americans and figured slow movement so I dedicted the time to school work. >.>

Blinkin, I put my characters in a stat block format with notepad. I find it easier that way. It's when you get into spellcasters that things get lengthy.

Our illustrious DM Has my CS, The CS for Natashah Riskmonte, The widowed Baroness of Riskmont; a barony far, far to the southeast.

If there is some warrior seeking adventure and travel, please apply to Baroness Riskmonte at the Dolphin's Retreat. For just coppers a day, you too could enjoy the experiences of long days, sore feet, sleeping under the stars (Or standing watches), bad food, life endangering battle and the joy of babysitting a spoiled noble too! How could you possibily  pass up is opportunity for verbal abuse, ill temper and  general disinterest? lol

As you can see, a slight change. Anyway, I use word and tabs, columbs and tables to lay out everything in a fair faximile of a CS. The only problem is that due to all the information I put into it for my own reference, it's about 5 pages long.

Max has sent me some preliminary character info too.

I'd prefer 4 players, but I can certainly run with 3.

There's another person asking for a 5e DM in this forum, given a consensus from a couple of the players here, I'll ask if they're interested in coming aboard.

Max

I am fine with it.

Blinkin, I had thought that maybe my fighter got recruited by her local lord.  Maybe that was you?

Blinkin

I'll offer conditional acceptance. I would like to know who it is, but otherwise I'm ok with it.

Sadly, there are a very few in the PF and D&D crowd who I simply cannot play with due to personality conflicts

Max, I'll send you a PM to discuss the potential opportunity.

If there are still any open places in the group I’d definitely be interested in joining.  I don’t have any practical experience with DnD and pathfinder yet, but me and a group of friends are in middle of character creation for a new 5e game irl with me as GM, so I’m hoping to learn about the game from a player point of view with this group.  I’m more than willing to fill any missing role the party my have as well.

Hey JustA,

you may find that the pace of even a rapid pbp means you'll be getting a  lot of table-top experience to help you here, rather than the other way around. But you're welcome to the team.

We have a real hole for Arcane (Wizard, Sorcerer or Bard) and Divine (Cleric, Druid) casters. (And Warlocks are Arcane too, but they're a bit narrowly focused).

knightsdestiny

IPM'ed you my sheet, let me know if I made any mistakes/missed anything.

I can't wait to introduce you all to the wandering healer and protector Asianne Kianira

Lokus

We have a few characters that are good to go, or as close as makes no odds.

Blinkin / Natashah Riskmonte, Human rogue noble.

knightsdestiny / Asianne Kianira, aasimar Warlock

And we have Max playing a human fighter, all details not yet complete.

(If I've missed someone's character sheet, scold away and point me back at it.)

Max

Think you have the sheet for Milli.  I didn't get some tings in, like what her saving throws were, was not sure how to figure that out, among some other things.  Also, while I did her history, kind of left it off as she got to the city, so we can add a bit there, and maybe a event or two before that.

Let me know how it looks.

I do, and it looks pretty good. I'm going to PM you a few small revisions in a moment.

Saving throws in 5e are based on the six stats, and have a bonus equal to your characteristic bonus.

So Milli has a DEX Save of +3.

Each Class gives a bonus to a few saves, Fighters add their Proficiency Bonus (+2 at 1st lvl) to STR and CON saves. So Milli's save breakdown looks like this:

STR +4
DEX +3
CON +4
INT +0
WIS -1
CHA +1

Max

Thanks for the help.

Two things I am not sure about.  One, about not getting any armor.  Maybe getting some leather or similiar?  And, not sure about the Archery fighting style.  If Milli is going to be our pt=rimay fighter, maybe switch it out for two weapon fighting?  She does have a rapier and a dagger after all.  Sge does have a longbow, but has a decent attack without the fighting style.

One bit at a time.

1.  You appear to have rolled wealth (and that's cool) rather than picking the quick-pick equipment selections, and have 66gp left. You have three good solutions:

Light Armour: Studded Leather costs 45gp, and will set your AC to 12+3 Dex Mod = 15.
Medium Armour: Chain Shirt costs 50gp, and will set your AC to 13 + 2 (Dex Mod is maxed at 2) = 15
Medium Armour: Scale mail costs 50gp and will set your AC to 14 + 2 (Dex Mod is maxed at 2) = 16. But you will roll at Disadvantage (roll d20 twice, choose the lowest die) for Stealth rolls (House Rule: and Athletics rolls for swimming).

2.  Two Weapon Combat.

There are two abilities relevant to two-weapon combat.

Two Weapon Fighting Style lets you add your ability (Dex, in your case) to weapon damage from your bonus attack. For your character it will add +3 Damage to your extra attack, which otherwise would be 1d4+0.

The Feat Dual Wielder lets you fight with non-Light weapons. Without it you must have a Light weapon in both hands to use Two Weapon Combat. Twin daggers, twin short-swords, or one of each would work best for a Dex fighter.

Dual Wielder has other advantages, +1 to AC while dual wielding, and can draw two weapons at a time. But you're going to be fourth level before a Feat becomes available.

Max

Yes, I did roll wealth.  Only got 16 on 5d4, so hardly rolling in the money, but guess that fits for a peasant.  :)

1.  Think I will go with the Studded Leather.  Cost seems a bit steep as compared to Leather, compared to the protection, but think I can live with it.

2.  Two Weapon Combat.  Okay, so will drop the rapier for two short-swords.

Again, thanks.

TwistedKitsune

HI, I was just wondering if there were any spaces left available because if so I would like to put my interest forward. I have plenty of experience with both 5e and pathfinder.(More 5e than pathfinder). I have an idea for a Elf Druid that I have been wanting to give a try for a while.

Hey Twisted.

I've said "yes" to a number of people who then have gone quiet. As far as I'm concerned I'm still looking for a fourth player, and if you can get a character in it can be you.

Lokus

#74
We have four!

Blinkin / Natashah Riskmonte, Human rogue noble.

knightsdestiny / Asianne Kianira, Aasimar Warlock

Max / Milli, Human Fighter

TwistedKitsune / Lily, Wood Elf Druid

Although I'm not closing recruiting, I am heading forward with OOC and IC thread soon. I'll edit this post with the links when they're up.

The OOC Thread is up. Please post your characters there (I would prefer if the first page starts with PCs, for ease of reference)[/url]

IC Thread The IC thread is up.
