Pause a gif avatar?

How do I pause a gif avatar? Epilepsy and some gifs don't go well together, and I'd like to be able to peruse E sans seizure risk.

You can turn all avatars off in your profile, or alternatively, you can use something like Adblock and block specific avatars, though that does require you to see them once in order to block them.   :-\

Thanks! I totally forgot about the Adblock thing because I got rid of it. Found the option on the new blocker I have. Much appreciation!
