Everyone had known that the dates wouldn’t all be great; that some of them might even be with a geek; or worse, if such a thing could be imagined! But, it was in the name of school spirit; the money raised from the raffle would go a long ways to getting the new cheerleader uniforms that everyone wanted and maybe a little more for the schools' academic program as well.  All in all, it wasn't a bad plan.

For just $20, any guy attending Brook Valley High could have a chance to go out with one of the beautiful cheerleaders or drill team of the Brookvalley Cougars. A real, authentic date with dinner, an after dinner event and most important of all… a real good-night kiss at the end of the evening!

Needless to say, the boyfriends of the cheerleaders were not thrilled to see their girls go out with anyone else; but as it was for the school, they reluctantly agreed and the raffle was announced. The results were overwhelming!

Out of the total male population of the school, 304 guys ranging from freshmen to seniors; Over 600 tickets were sold and $12,000 was made!!

When the night of the drawings had finally arrived, the stadium's stands were nearly packed with students, teachers and staff; all wanting to see who the lucky boys were that got the 17 girls; 7 cheerleaders and 10 girls from the drill team. As each ticket were pulled from the tank by the head cheerleader, Tiffany, the lucky guys were brought down to the 50 yard line and placed with their future dates; including our hero, Scott Parker.

Planned for the next Friday evening, the date with His cheerleader, (Insert name) went surprisingly well, in (Insert Name) thoughts. A pleasant dinner with a thoughtful and excited geek, a movie that Scott asked her to select; it was a romantic comedy. Followed by a pleasant stroll through the park; complete with some stimulating and charming conversation to make it all appear to be a great date... with a geek of all things.
Unfortunately, it was just the one date; While scott knew it from the startand (Insert name)  might of even enjoyed the evening, she had a boyfriend that took up as much space as 3 of scott.  Even though it was the girl that he had crushed on since the 7th grade, it was just an unhappy fact,.

When they pulled into the driveway of her house, at just after 11 PM,like the gentleman that he had been, he walked her to the door and swallowed in the porch light as he gazed down at her. The moment of truth… the one that (Insert name) had been dreading all week was at hand. Her intention was a quick brush of lips and a hurried “Good Night.” before retreating through the door and into a more comfortable place.

However, what (Insert Name)got was… something else. Scott wasn’t going to let things end on a lack-luster peck on the cheek; he had always had a crush on this particular cheerleader and when the moment of truth came, Scott went all in on the bet of his life! He threw everything that he had into that kiss! Was it natural talent? The surprise? Or maybe something even more mysterious would be the question overriding every thought in their heads as the liplock broke. The only thing holding her up after that kiss was Scott; she had no trouble at all telling that Scott was having a similar reaction to hers... pure, unadulterated, bone melting need.
As they leaned into each other for support, the only thought in her brain was, “Holy shit!" With shakey knees, she pulled away and with a breathless whisper,
she bid him good night; before she fumbled with the doorknob and slipped inside... and slid down the door in shock.

For the rest of the night, she was plagued by dreams and thoughts of that kiss; and if it was only a fluke, or did Scott have something special; she had to know which it was!

That's pretty much the basis of the story, two teens get swept up by an immediate and intense connection and the question, how do they deal with it? What do they do about the expected jock boyfriend that's not exactly what she wants but is expected to have? How do you handle the potential social fopah of having a geek that you're head-over-heels with and know that he'll never be one of the popular crowd? Only you and I can figure that out, so if you're interested, drop me a PM.

Yes, I really am blind.
Being Literate is the ability to read and understand a language. When you ask for literate, what you are looking for is Verbosity, which is the ability to use lots of words without actually saying very much... like politicians. I consider myself both literate and verbose.
