I’ve been absent from E for a minute due to school, but and back and wanting to run a game. I have had some in the past that started but then died after school picked up and I got involved in too many rps. So I am once again looking to run a game, and it will be my only RP to make sure I stick with it. I have three concepts in mind, all three can be system run or freeform. Right now want to know what interest is out there and which would be more likely to attract players. So here are my three campaign ideas, let me know which interests you and we’ll see what we’ll be running.

The Arcaia League

Welcome to the Arcaia region, a land shrouded in mystery. Though this region hosts no native pokémon of it's own, it is home to pokémon from all other known regions. Due to this strange phenomenon it has attracted a large amount of attention from researchers and trainers alike. Boasting a booming economy and countless new towns Arcaia is the new frontier of the pokémon world. As it population has grown the region is finally ready to start its very own pokémon championship league. The region is abuzz with the excitement of new trainers coming to test their skills and bonds with their pokémon in the first ever Arcaia League Championship! But all is not well in this new frontier. Strange rumors have been cropping up about some extremely aggressive pokémon beginning to appear. They have been said to attack unprovoked and to be terrorizing humans and pokémon alike. What is the cause of these strange rumors, and what does it mean for the region and it’s new league? Only time will tell.

Adventure in Ibulith

The land of Ibulith, a continent divided. As far back as people can remember the races of this world have lived separated from each other by a dense and dark forest know as the Dividing Forest. Each kingdom is cut off from the other, each race living among itself. Trade and conflicts do happen between the different lands but lately the trading routes have been slowing down as tensions have been rising. Caravans of merchants enter the Dividing Forests that separate the kingdoms only to never be seen again. The leaders of the kingdoms have yet to take note of this phenomenon, but the border towns who rely on trade to survive are being hit hard. These towns are calling for adventurers to find out what is causing the problems in these dark forests and make sure the trade routes are made safe once more before the issue escalates.

Star Wars: Shadows Rising

It is a time of unease in the galaxy. The newly minted Galactic Empire has seized control of nearly every corner and aspect of the galaxy. In the name or law and order people’s rights and freedoms are being suppressed. The Emperor holds the inner and middle rim in an iron fist. But not all hope is lost for the galaxy. For among the fringes of galactic society, on the grungy and forgotten worlds of the outer rim freedom is still a possibility for those willing to grasp for it. It is out here, in the wilds of the outer rim, that trouble is brewing. But in these tumultuous times fortune favors the bold. Glory awaits those willing to seize it...

Thunder Splash

If it is decided that we want to use a system the systems I would use are Pokémon Tabletop United, D&D 5e, or the Fantasy Flight Star Wars system.

GreenFlame

I will plant my intrastate flang in case this ends up being D&D

I'd be interested in either Star wars FFG or Pokemon!

Do you know which set of games you'd be going with for Star wars? Edge of Empire, Age of Rebellion, Force and Destiny, some combination of the above?

The main story would mostly come out of Edge of the Empire, and every character would need to take obligations from the EotE book, but I will allow races and classes from the other books.

Avalon29

Alright, neat! definitely interested if it ends up either star wars or pokemon then. Sounds like fun.

Alright, it looks like Star Wars has really taken the lead. FFG it is. Now my next important question, what does everyone want out of this campaign? Details are: it will be an Edge of the Empire campaign, set between episodes III and IV. I will allow Jedi who survived order 66 and classes from the other books are allowed. It will start in the outer rim. I don’t really RP smut so this will be more a game for action, adventure, and role playing like you’d do around your local gaming table. Romance is totally fine but when it gets to the sexy times that needs to be out of the main thread.

Some questions I have for the players are: do you want characters to be strangers or for some of them to already know each other? Do we want a mechanics heavy or mechanics light game? Are there any particular things you are looking to get out of this game?

I look forward to running this game and I will have threads up in the next couple of days. For now here is a character template to start building on.

Ah hell, I'm in for some FFG. I'll have to re-read the books but, I really like rolling dice, so...I wanna roll as many as I can.
Avatar is by Lemonfont. Will remove it if he asks me to.

Come check the Cyberpunk Images Thread!

I figure every EotE group needs a character with Astrogation and I apparently cannot not make a pilot character. I'm also happy to work out connections to other players before the game.

I'm medium-mechanics. Happy to roll dice as the situation calls for it.

Name: Nat Tuo
Player: clonkertink
Race: Nautolan
Career: Explorer
Specialization: Fringer
Motivation: Freedom - Wants to wander the stars, find places where she doesn't need to be tied down by day to day concerns.
Obligation: Criminal - Black Sun hired her to chart alternate hyperspace routes into several restricted Imperial zones. She saw too much, and now both Black Sun and the Empire are after her.

Character specifics

Brawn: 3   Agility: 3   Intellect: 3   Cunning: 3   Willpower: 2   Presence: 2

Nat is a pragmatic Nautolan, who has spent enough time plying the hyperlanes to grow jaded with the wonder and vastness of space. At least, that's the impression she gives. While she'll take whatever job puts food on the table and fuel in the tank, her passion has always been in the new and unexplored reaches of the galaxy. While she is a capable pilot, her real area of expertise is in astrogation, and she loves nothing more than calculating a challenging route through rarely-travelled space.

This skill drew the attention of Black Sun, who hired her to find back-door hyperlanes into heavily restricted Imperial Space. And while Nat did find the necessary back doors, she did not entirely avoid Imperial attention, and saw just why these Imperial worlds were so jealously guarded. She also realized that there was no way she could let Black Sun get their hands on the astrogation data. She's been on the run from both organizations ever since.

Notes

There are plenty of gaps here I'm willing to flesh out with the GM. Particularly why Black Sun needed these backdoor hyperspace routes, and what Nat saw there that the Empire didn't want her to see.

I'm also happy to flesh out connections to other characters, here.

Thunder Splash

Very nice character. Astrogation is an often overlooked skill. And it looks like it at a first glance but just to be sure all characters are starting out at the beginning level. Just the exp your race and obligation gives you.

clonkertink

Yup. Took the extra 10 Obligation for 10 XP, and put it all into characteristics.

I am a firm believer that the best defence is being on the opposite side of the galaxy from people who want to shoot you. ;D

Avalon29

Ohhhh Nat Tuo looks neat Clonkertink.

As for me I've got a trio of ideas battling it out in my head at the moment.

The first one I'm thinking of would be a character raised by clones or group of clones who starts out rebelling against this whole duty above all thing and focuses on themselves and slowly realizing that they might have been the one in the wrong the whole time and growing into a leadership type character. I admit part of this is wanting to try the new clone trooper careers out without making a clone. Might need GM approval for that though. Although someone raised in a similar honor/duty above all situation or a surviving padawan would also work in this case. Original vision for progress though would be clone trooper tree with a mix of clone officer and some other kind of presence focused tree later on like Ship Captain.

The second one is probably pretty typical but I've always liked the idea of a tech type, likely Technician or Engineer who starts out mostly normal, preference for building and fixing things. Then slowly starting to love deconstructing things and explosions just as much as creating things as they start having to use their skills towards different uses due to the trouble they frequently find themselves in.  General idea on this one mechanics wise would be an Outlaw Tech or Scientist with a mix of one of the explosive focused trees like Saboteur or Demolitionist.

Third idea which was pretty recent. Thinking a smuggler scoundrel, fast talker, has a bit of an ego,and always looking for the next score or the next deal to make and getting close to the big one but falling just a tiny bit short and getting in trouble instead. Usually getting lucky or talking themselves out of it after. Also has a thing for rare or old tech and always pushing their gear to the limit to give a bit of an underhanded surprise. Would be planning on picking up the Pirate and Scavenger trees at a later with this one I think.

Thanks, Avalon!

After mulling over the build, right now my general concept is to dip quickly into Modder or Rigger to get Mechanics, Gunnery, and Fancy Paint Job. Later on, I'd probably hop over to Ship Captain to get Pride and Joy, and focus on more social skills. I think she'll end up being a very broad generalist character, with a modest focus on intelligence, and a lot of XP going into skills early on.

Tavarokk

*opens FFG materials list*

By the Force, that's a lot of PDFs. Might take a while to look through them.

Incidentally, my first impulse is also to gravitate towards engineering and starship operation. While I'll have no problem picking something else, a though occurs - if we end up with a full party of spacers, could we maybe go for a capital ship crew, Rogue Trader style? Not outright, but eventually.

Thunder Splash

I don’t see why that couldn’t be a possibility later on. Anything is possible in such a big setting as Star Wars.

Tavarokk

In that case, I'm provisionally contemplating a Navy officer who has left service loudly and with fireworks and thus has reasons to get scarce for the time being. Ace or Commander, high class background - coreworlder, military academy, active service in a good position. Feeling super lost now that everything fell apart. Wants a good ship with a good crew and to rain fiery death on certain types of people.

clonkertink

Navy Officer would probably be a Commodore.

Or you could do something like Mercenary soldier, and then take the Republic Navy Officer or Imperial Academy Cadet specs. Either would probably work well.

Thunder Splash

Another important question. Though this will be in the early years of the rebellion, it’s more so just a bunch of small groups beginning to tentatively work together, does anyone plan on being a rebel from the get go?

Hobbes1266

How smutty is this going to be? I'm looking at the possibility of a droid so my character would be lacking the appropriate parts for anything sexual.

I've never tried this system before so I'd hope that isn't a problem.

Just my two cents, but might it be a good idea to start a new thread for recruitment rather than an interest check?

Love And Submission

I'm probably going with a Herglic Heavy Hired Gun. I think that seems the most interesting to me.

No need for smut if you don’t want it. And any smut that happens has to be out of the main thread. I’m here for the role playing aspect and the story, not sexy times.

Thunder Splash

Here is the OOC thread, the others will come later but all talk of characters and questions can transfer over here for now.
