Everyone, after pondering stuffs, I've decided to go with the Allocating Points approach to characteristics (25 starting, not 30). This is the ONLY bit that doesn't require rolling. Everything else where rolls would normally be required will result in dice rolls being made and sent to me.

Taking into account the modifications for home world?

Yes, actually. Because it would be base 30 for the + scores and base 20 for the minus. So taking those into account it is 60 points on the nose. I have it all on a fillable DH 2e sheet. If I had a way to link it I would

So let's see what we got, a pair of desperadoes, and a mystic or smarty pants of some kind. All of my concepts are still pretty good to go. Was hoping to have my options narrowed down a bit for me.

Might as well make all three for the fun of it and see which one seems to be the most fun for me to play by the end of it since character generation is always fun anyhow!

Alright, of the two concepts I've mentioned earlier I've settled on the latter - a low-ranking member of Adeptus Mechanicus with radical leanings and too much enthusiasm for restricted knowledge who eventually crossed paths with the Inquisition and signed on to cut corners in their own organization. So, forge-worlder, sage role.

Alrighty, no worries! Just excited and its fun to talk stuff out like this.

For anybody curious I ended up deciding to work on a character worked up who works as a fairly heavy armored melee seeker or a crusader depending on what other people would like to do. Seeker has got a bit more outside utility while the crusader version of the character is a bit more combat focused but still decent at talking to people

I've just been given access to some Wrath & Glory books. I haven't reacquainted myself with the rules - and only glanced at them briefly before - but intend on doing so soon. IF (and that's a big "if") I end up thinking them a better fit, then I may consider using them instead, since I remember them being a little easier to handle for a GM than Dark Heresy; if I don't prefer them, however, we'll stick with 2nd Edition DH.

I'm only considering a possible shift in rules because of the early stages of this interest check. I'll keep you all updated.

I admit, I've personally been wanting to try Wrath & Glory for months now. So on that hand i would be willing. But i haven't bought the book yet, nor have i been able to quire it through other means. So i wouldn't know or have any references for character creation. Which would make things difficult.

That might be workable, at least if we can find a group copy. Failing that, it's far easier than DH2, and so might be easy enough to work from without the book. Maybe.

The big deciding factor here would have to be what Tier I would allow as a maximum. This would of course impact what archetypes could be used.

Same issue here, no books and unlikely to get them. Can't speak further as I know nothing of that system.

I’ve got access to the rules. Picked them up recently along with Fantasy.  My opinion on it is that it seems to be a solid system and rules but I think Ulisses tried to cram too much into a single book and could use a little more focus. Supplements or separate themed games lines like ffg did would do wonders for them. Cubicle 7 the ones who got the rights after Ulisses is also doing a large revision, almost a new edition, of the rules as well. No clear release date on it though. Did share the new cover last week though. The cover looks  pretty nice.

I’d be happy to do either game though!

The dice decreeth that the Emperor doesn't care for me much, that I'm slightly tougher than average and that I have aptitude for shutting suspicious people up with a surprise shot to the face.

I think that covers all rolls I need to make as an admech character.

It's not first come first serve. You roll up a stats and submit a character concept. Then she'll pick 4 or 5 for the game.

I'm still making a decision on which system I'll be using. Between the two you can still submit concepts however, especially since I made a point of saying Dark Heresy would use point allocation now for characteristics. 

Might just be worth writing up ideas for either system in the meanwhile. Or one or two ideas for either, if both could be applicable. But keep in mind that Tier for W&G has not yet been determined.

(At home, I'm on the verge of a house and job move which, among other things, is the reason for the slow progression of this.)

Leaning slightly more towards the Seeker at the moment unless someone else mentions really wanting one in which case I’ll swap to Crusader. Crusader it is!

Malka, any chance I can replace the Seeker’s tech aptitude with knowledge? Fits a bit more with the witch hunter-esc type I’m going with.

Slightly different question then! Mind if I take defense instead of a characteristic aptitude for retaking offence with Adepta Soritas background? If not that’s perfectly fine and just go with Adeptus Astra Telepathica instead. Just a slight fluff preference. ^^

Got me idea of highborn outcast seeker.
Thief type that used to get lost at other highborne parties and "things would go missing".

While at one party wandered into inquisitors party readying to take down that nobles secret cult, she talked quick and helped them crack security through.

Rather then wait for the Inquisitor to "offer" her a spot in his retinue, she asked to join as she stole simply because she was bored. Now she can get excitement AND serve the Emperors will!

Would it be possible to swap tech priest starting proficiency and weapon from solid projectile autogun to standard issue lasgun?

If a game of Wrath & Glory happens, I wouldn't mind jumping in. Character concept would rely on the game's nature and Tier, of course.

The Dark Heresy archetypes in W&G are all Tier 1 characters, though if the game runs at Tier 2 it allows more customisation between characters in Tier 1 so there's less crossover if the game gets like, two Hive Gangers for example and allows if someone wants to be more specialised to go for stuff like the Sister of Battle, Tempestus Scion, Astartes Scout or Skitarii.
