Just to put out there, for anyone who might be a bit intimidated by the GoT world...don't be. There is a lot of lore but people are willing to help, answer questions, and point you toward resources. Lots of the Noble Houses are connected by marriages so it's easy to link in with another player (after talking to them first of course) for help in building character background and connections and there are lots of Houses, and also some Small Council slots still open!

And to build off of what everyone's said before, it really is fun and easy to jump into the group.

One of the best things about this is that time has passed in Westeros after the aftermath of Dany's claiming of the throne.  It's a perfect opportunity to either build your own house, or take what might be a small and obscure house and make it into something really special and kickass.

I'm more than happy to brainstorm and share some ideas and potential faces that could help inspire some stuff.  I've got a ton of potential character ideas I threw together over the last few times.  Feel free to PM me.

Honestly any house could be open but if there is already a character from that House I'd message that writer and see how they feel about connections. Most folks are down for cousins, aunts/uncles extended family etc.

Lady Winifred (Winnie) Tully

Character: Winifred Tully. Lady of Riverrun.

Alias:  Winnie, Fred (by her father when she was younger, because she was his only heir).

Age:  21

Position:  Lady of Riverrun, The Little Creek

Allegiance:  The Faith of the Seven, The Riverlands

Appearance:  Winifred is a small, petite woman of short stature. She has long, reddish-brown hair that curls to the base of her back and is braided neatly away from her face. She, ever since she was a little girl, has had the tendency to wander to the creek and pick flowers to wear in her hair. She has deep brown eyes inherited from her mother, and dimples on both cheeks. Her face is wide and heart shaped, and she often wears a good-natured smile. She often wears practical clothes, not one for dressing up unless she absolutely has to. She favors light, breathable fabrics, in blues and yellows, and skirts that she can walk easily in.

Face Claim:  Samantha Barks

Personality:  As heir to a noble house, Winifred was taught from an early age not to care about frivolous things. She is kindhearted and free-willed in nature, often found wandering the Riverlands as a child with her nursemaid in tow. She has always been more of a tomboy, preferring to train with her father and ride horses than to sew, though she never complains when tasks need done. She was taught history, to read and write well, and to defend herself, and thus she is confident in conversation as well as combat. She is, as most Tullys, fiercely stubborn and strong willed when it comes to getting her way and the betterment of her lands, and she will do anything for the people of the Riverlands.

Motivations: Winifred is very aware of the little power the Riverlands hold in the Seven Kingdoms. She knows that her marriage can form a powerful alliance, and thus is searching for a good match, not only for herself but also for her homeland. She wants to better the Riverlands, to build them up to a powerful land that contributes.

History:  Winifred is the granddaughter of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey. Her father, their firstborn and only son, doted on her every whim and loved his daughter. He married a commoner, which shocked his family, and when she gave birth to a girl the resentment toward her only grew. When, two years later, Winifred and her mother both fell ill with sweating sickness, the people of the Riverland celebrated that Robb Tully would be able to marry again. However, Winifred survived, and Robb, devastated at his wife's death, never married again and gave everything to his daughter. He raised her as his trueborn heir, and wouldn't hear of anyone saying otherwise. He died when Winifred was ten years old, and instead of allowing a regent to lead until she became of age, The Little Creek took over the running of Riverrun with such skill no one could stand against her.

Sexual Identity:  Heterosexual

Rumors and Gossip:  That Winifred Tully is never going to live up to the legacy of her ancestors. I heard her declare that she would never marry and live life as a virgin! I heard rumors that Winifred Tully dresses as a man and frequents the local taverns.

Strengths and Key Skills:

• Literacy- she is very well read and enjoys reading books
• Defensive skills- While not a keen swordswoman, Winifred can defend herself and is especially good with a knife.
• Conversation

Flaws and Weaknesses:  Winifred is absolutely an introvert. She prefers her own company rather than the company of others. She also has simple taste and does not see the need in "making appearances". She is also stubborn to the point of insolence.

Character Likes and On's: Intelligent conversation, flowers, an adventurous spirit, an avid horserider, reading, walking by the river, boating on the river, well-baked pies, the history of the Seven Kingdoms, fishing, children, animals.
In the bedroom, although she is a virgin, she has some ideas about what she may like. She likes being in charge.

Character Dislikes and Off's:  Arrogance, women playing stupid just to impress men, people who hurt animals, especially horses, people who hurt children or look down on children, being doubted or underestimated, pain

A regent would rule until a Lord or Lady is of age (is to hold a title). Beyond that I really enjoy the character if you would not mind tweaking that I would be happy to have you join us.

Hello.

Due to holidays among other things there was a bit of a break in the game.

Beyond the Dragon is back however welcoming new and old writers to continue the game.

The lovely Caela has written up a recap of what has gone on so far.

28th of the 9th

• Ser Ashton Long arrives in KL and later meets with Alyssane Blackthorne
• Lady Lyanna Stark, Lady Wynn Manderly arrive at the Stark villa outside KL
• Ser Emry Manderly arrives in KL and goes to the Stark villa to see his sister and nephew, Lady Stark invites him to remain for a family meal so the Manderly siblings can catch up
• Lord Daven Lannister arrives in KL and is met at the Lion Gate by Ser Coralei Lannister
• Lord Elmo Volmark wanders the city and ponders the shifting nature of the game of politics before his thoughts are interrupted by the arrival of Lady Auralei Lannister

29th of the 9th

• Captain Dakeyras Greyjoy and Damien Pyke arrive in KL and meet with Lord Ulric Greyjoy and Lady Darna Farwynd
• Lord Ulric Greyjoy meets with Lord Elmo Volmark, in the city, after leaving Captain Greyjoy and company down at the docks

1st of the 10th

• Lady Darna Farwynd wins the Melee, Captain Dakeyras Greyjoy takes second, and Lord Daltis Frey takes third
• Lord Ryam Peake wins the horse race, Lady Lyanna Stark takes second and Ser Coalei Lannister takes third
• Lady Tyrell and Lord Peak have a short discussion about the upcoming tourney
• Lady Tyrell and Lord Baratheon engage in a polite flirtation and she agrees to his request to wear her favor in the joust
• Ser Coralei Lannister and Ser Emri Manderly meet
• Lady Auralei Lannister and Captain Dakeyras Greyjoy meet and Dak finds out his father was a Lannister
• Lady Wynn Manderly and Ser Ashton Long discuss the tourney
• Darna, Dakeyras, and MacGowan go drinking to celebrate Darna's winning the melee
