Getting very close to the deadline but I'm still having trouble deciding between a couple of character concepts,
Boros Forge Cleric

A generally friendly centaur that forges weapons for the Boros Legion, but is more often seen in the marketplaces of Precinct 2, taking commissions for various items, selling excess goods that she's made thought of as not good enough to be presented to the Legion but still of fine enough quality to sell to the Guildless masses should they need it. Currently haggling on the price of a portable forge and a larger wagon to house it in addition to all her wares and collected knick knacks. Will provide mending services for free so long as the repair job is easy enough that her cantrips can do it.
or
Orzhov Celestial Warlock

Haughty member of the Church Mafia, presents herself as a nun of the Orzhov faith and a cleric, gained power from a pact with either either the Obzedat or one of the guild's allied Deathpact angels. Keeps up an appearance of being a humble petitioner, doing good for her community and requiring a cane to walk while using any actual power she wields to intimidate and beat people (courtesty of her "walking stick" to pay their debt to the church for their aid. Was thinking of making her an Aasimar but as there's already an Orzhov-aligned, charisma-based caster of the Aasimar persuasion I may just have to rethink this.
. I'm glad I've narrowed it down to just these two but now it's a fairly difficult choice. Boros has very little representation in the thread so far, so may lean that way

Going to put the OOC up tomorrow night after submissions are closed and should start Wednesday. I mention this now because if you so choose, you and others players can work out “previous encounters” between each other. Not required and “I’ve never met any of these freaks!” is an entirely acceptable answer.

I realize that’s a lot of work to commit to uncertainty prior to final selections and I’m going with six slots to maximize availability. But you might let it kick around your head a little bit. Wish I could handle you all, but to be frank I didn’t expect this many applicants for the setting. Lol

There will be fairly few house rules, most of them chosen for the sake of expediency on play by post.

With that said, I’m looking forward to a good and hopefully long game!

I will note that personally, I agree with picking Boros. It is under-represented, has a cool dynamic with all the other guilds, and lets you have a second niche.

I mean, if half the party are Centaurs, the other half of the party can ride us.

Isengrad

Well, Centaurs still count as medium creatures so technically....the centaur can ride a centaur. In all actuality I know that is dumb though. Now moving forward as far as interpersonal connections are concerned I know I have already suggested 1 for Novak with being a Product of Lala's brothers research.

It is also possible that he has partnered or had a run in with a few others. The ones that grew up in or around the street might have known him from his urchin days.

It is possible that he might be aware of our once-Gruul Centaur as a ruffian who hunted and maybe occasionally traded with an Urchin in days gone by. Perhaps he might be a recognisable Selesnyan nowadays

yeah, Either Him of Lala could be a good influnce on our Simic monk. He is essentially good, he also understands that unless he starts trying to master spells he's nothing more than a Project to some of the Combine, and unless he works his ass off will be nothing more than second class in the organization. During the course of the story he may become disillusioned with the Simic and either become guild less or try to join another guild, all depends on how the game progresses.

Other than that, anyone from his childhood would recognize that he has changed a lot, he was not always a shark man

I think the Orzhov can definitely just be a standing team  :D Enforcer, Advokist, and pretty sure Rummy's going for a Priest angle?

This talk of an all-Orzhov party has me regretting my choice to work on this gal instead just a little because that sounds like a lot of fun with a lot of backstabbing potential trying to get the upper hand on your partners and rise in the ranks above them (potentially getting them in your debt and extorting them)  >_>

Features
Background:
Boros Legionnaire
Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Intimidation
Tool Proficiencies: One type of gaming set
Languages: Choose one of Celestial, Draconic, Goblin or Minotaur
Equipment: A Boros Insignia
A feather from an angel's wing
A tattered piece of a Boros banner
A set of common clothes
A belt pouch containing 2gp (Boros-minted 1-zino coins)
FEATURE: LEGION STATION
You have an established place in the hierarchy of the
Boros Legion. You can requisition simple equipment for
temporary use, and you can gain access to any Boros
garrison in Ravnica, where you can rest in safety and
receive the attention of medics. You are also paid a salary
of 1 gp (a Boros-minted 1-zino coin) per week, which
(combined with free lodging in your garrison) enables
you to maintain a poor lifestyle between adventures

Racial:
Fey
Your creature type is fey, rather than humanoid

Charge
If you move at least 30 feet straight toward a
target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack on the
same turn, you can immediately follow that attack with a
bonus action, making one attack against the target with
your hooves

Hooves
Your hooves are natural melee weapons,
which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit
with them, you deal bludgeoning damage equal to ld4 +
your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage
normal for an unarmed strike.

Equine Build
You count as one size larger when determining
your carrying capacity and the weight you can
push or drag.
In addition, any climb that requires hands and feet is
especially difficult for you because of your equine legs.
When you make such a climb, each foot of movement
costs you 4 extra feet, instead of the normal 1 extra foot.

Survivor
You have proficiency in one of the following
skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Medicine, Nature, or Survival

Class (Cleric):
Forge Domain
Bonus Proficiency
When you choose this domain at 1st level, you
gain proficiency with heavy armor and smith's tools

Blessing of the Forge
At 1st level, you gain the ability to imbue magic into a weapon or
armor. At the end of a long rest, you can touch one nonmagical object that is a suit of armor or a
simple or martial weapon. Until the end of your next long rest or until you die, the object becomes
a magic item, granting a +1 bonus to AC if it's armor or a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls if
it's a weapon.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Channel Divinity (1/rest)
Turn Undead
As an action, you present your holy symbol and speak a prayer censuring
the undead. Each undead that can see or hear you within 30 feet of you must make a Wisdom
saving throw. If the creature fails its saving throw, it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes any damage.

A turned creature must spend its turns trying to move as far away from you as it can, and it can't
willingly move to a space within 30 feet of you. It also can't take reactions. For its action, it can use
only the Dash action or try to escape from an effect that prevents it from moving. If there's
nowhere to move, the creature can use the Dodge action.

Artisan's Blessing
Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to create simple items.

You conduct an hour-long ritual that crafts a nonmagical item that must include some metal: a
simple or martial weapon, a suit of armor, ten pieces of ammunition, a set of tools, or another
metal object (see chapter 5, "Equipment," in the Player's Handbook for examples of these
items). The creation is completed at the end of the hour, coalescing in an unoccupied space
of your choice on a surface within 5 feet of you.

The thing you create can be something that is worth no more than 100 gp. As part of this ritual,
you must lay out metal, which can include coins, with a value equal to the creation. The metal
irretrievably coalesces and transforms into the creation at the ritual's end, magically forming
even nonmetal parts of the creation. The ritual can create a duplicate of a nonmagical item that
contains metal, such as a key, if you possess the original during the ritual.

Class (Fighter):
Fighting Style (Defense)
While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC.

Second Wind
You have a limited well of stamina that you can draw on to protect yourself from harm.
On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 1d10 + your fighter level.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.

A Boros insignia
Feather from an angel's wing
Tattered piece of a Boros banner (a souvenir from a famous battle)
Set of common clothes
Belt pouch containing 2 gp (Boros-minted 1-zino coins)

Background
Boros is in Theokleia's blood, her maternal grandparents wielded hammer and shield in their name and from a young age she has been guided along the path to join the guild, wishing to gain their approval. Her paternal blood is however guildless, has given her an appreciation for the life of the common man on the street. Her father was a smith, a fairly good one but not the best. When she was sworn into the Legion she was drawn to the path of the military mage, focusing more on working with the masters of the forge who crafted the weapons and arms for the legionnaires and maintained the on the battlefield.

A resident of Precinct two she can mostly be found there, chasing after thugs and thieves when on duty for Boros, while off duty chatting with members of the community and attempting to aid them with more grounded, day-to-day problems such as mending damaged items or wagon wheels, tending to the maledictions of more feeble residents or helping her father forge and sell his steel.

Theo is the eldest of three siblings, having a younger brother and sister. Her brother similarly joined the Boros Legion and was somewhat bitter about not inheriting their grandfather's hammer, unlike her he has devoted his entire being to the Legion, rising up in its ranks and surpassing his sister while she mingles with those he deems to have the potential to turn from righteousness at any moment. Her younger sister has had even less communication with Theo in recent years, the mare having thrown her lot in with the fools of Rakdos.

Appearance
Flaxen of hair, green of eye, horse of rear. She prefers to wear the reds and whites associated with the Legion. Due to the somewhat sulphurous fumes of the forge she requires glasses to read and when working on fine detail.

Personality
Theo believes concretely that compassion is the first weapon against injustice, treating others fairly and aiding the members of the local community having the potential to stop evil and corruption before it has a chance to take root. Violence is a last resort, but when it is required or she is ordered into the fray by her commanders in the Legion she prefers to take on a role of combat medic, healing those who have fallen or (true to her philosophy of prevention being better than simply reacting) throwing herself in harm's way to protect others first.

Backstory: Ventura was one of the host of the lost and desperate picked up by the Cult of Rakdos every day. She quickly became inured to both the grandest and most depraved of sights, and even as a child was just as comfortable elbow-deep in pig guts and lighting off pyrotechnics (hopefully not at the same time, but the demand for novelty is a harsh mistress) as she was at the grandest of state affairs. Although the Cult tried its best to teach her to live in the moment and forget her time in the gutter, she couldn't help but seethe and plot revenge against the ones who had put her there in the first place.

Her grand dramatic act was one of revolution - she led a project to firebomb the front of a magically-driven train. The front, where the respectable and well-to-do enjoyed their luxuries in comfort and safety. For would it not be more demonstrative of the absurdity of life to show that all their security was nothing against the wiles of chaos?

The plan ended with her on the back of that train, packed in like sardines with the poor. It was only when everything exploded around her and she was buried in rubble and metal that she discovered that her mentor had disagreed. No, killing the respectable was expected. Banal. Unworthy. What was truly transgressive, truly surreal was to kill the poor.

And apparently Rakdos agreed, as the great one himself not only watched the performance, but granted a tiny sliver of his power to the broken mess of a half-elf that crawled out of the wreckage.

Ventura gritted her teeth, took her time to heal, and added the Cult of Rakdos to Her List.

She maintains the air of refinement and rarefied tastes that one would expect of the best of Orzhov, and has restyled her act (when she must display it) to satire. She is charming, respectable and even soft-spoken when the situation calls for it - when people spend fifteen minutes working up the nerve to ask you to leave and you answer them with a smile, a handshake and a butt pat, the looks on their faces are just priceless!

Ally: Rakdos himself viewed one of my performances. Yeah, that fuckin' worked out great, didn't it?
Rival: Stefica Petri, my old Master of Ceremonies, tried to kill me to make a point. I'm not over that, and for that matter she hasn't stopped trying to teach me the proper way to think for myself. She... doesn't get irony, I don't think. Or I don't. Not sure which. Clearly the solution to that conundrum is to try to kill her.
Non-Rakdos: Yochanon Kleio of the Boros Legion has decided that my newfound interest in respectability is thanks to his influence, and every now and again checks in on my "progress." He's a useful man so I don't mind cultivating that impression (even if his taste in art is awful), but I can't help but feel he's not quite the naive meathead he comes off as.

In light of how many great selections I received, as I mentioned previously, I opened up space for six players. I had such a hard time with selection, honestly half were chosen via a random dice roll. I realize that’s small consolation and I apologize for that. I will keep the rest of you in mind in the event of lost players.

For the current roster, we will have:

Dahyla Kos (Rogue Assassin) Orzhov Syndicate
Oloven Dane (Draconic Sorcerer) Orzhov Syndicate
Tozispix (Goblin Arcane Trickster) Izzet League
La La Daiza (Loxodon Cleric) Selesnya Conclave
Ventura Wray (Warlock) Cult of Rakdos
Theoklia (Centaur War Medic) Boros Legion
