Mermaid x Pirate Romance (Inquire Inside)

Looking to roleplay a romance between a mermaid (me) and a pirate (male needed). Quite possibly down to turn it into a love triangle (male mer x female mer x male pirate) with the two males vying for her affection. To keep it from getting stale, however, I would like to introduce an antagonist of sorts (not necessarily a villain) that will help the "plot" go on.

Maybe someone is trying to capture the mers' and sell/skin/etc them... Or maybe it's a Pirates of the Caribbean setting. A little mermaid type thing--daddy issues? We'll see!
