Kingdom Hearts RP [Freeform] [Storyline/Sandbox] [Exotic Bondage] [A.U.]

Hey all,

CyrodilicBrandy and I have been playing a one-on-one Kingdom Hearts RP for a little while now, and have decided to expand it beyond the Destiny Islands, perhaps with the addition of a few more worlds, characters, and storylines. To that end, we're opening up recruitment for the game going forwards.

At this point, the characters of Sora and Kairi are taken, but any others are available to play - within reason. Because of the nature of the game, we'd like to have characters from Hub worlds (Traverse Town, Twilight Town, etc), or characters from non-Hub worlds who have a reason to be travelling beyond their own place of origin. We're looking to include some storylines going forwards, but can also allow for freeform elements and interactions on different worlds as desired.

It should be noted that, in part due to our current RP, this game takes place in an Alternate Universe (specifically one in which Sora returned to Destiny Islands after the Mark of Mastery), and thus some bits and pieces may vary from "canon"; also, not all of us have completed Kingdom Hearts 3 yet, and so the game will be largely free of KH3 spoilers - at least to begin with. Further down the line, Cyrodilic and I would like to branch down those storylines too, and carry the game through to its conclusion.

I would be very interested! Kingdom Hearts is the series that I will always return to, time and time again. How AU are you doing this? Is there a time skip where the characters have aged up to be over 18? Also, I would like to ask clarification if this is a Canon only story or if OCs would be welcome as well?

Hi! Love to see some interest! So currently as Malk and I are RPing it, we're on the cusp of KH 2 to 3, where Sora and Kairi are both 16, and Riku iirc would be 17. The general assumption would be that characters such as Namine, Pence, Olette etc; are also 16 and above, to keep in guidance with E's rules.

We haven't talked about it, but I am assuming it is a canon only story; however, of course with the nature of Kingdom Hearts and the many, maaaaaaaaaaany worlds, there are so many potential canon characters.  Malk may have more in-depth info, and I don't want to speak entirely on her behalf for this RP, but I think that's correct! 

Regarding AU, for my sake, I have ideas in my head about Kairi's motivations and the things she does during what would be the 'course' of KH3; for example, instead of going to chill with Axel during most the damn game (which I'm still salty about), she's almost certainly going to take every opportunity she can to be with Sora, unless other characters/storylines intervene. To that end, I'm sure we'll all be able to plot out such things in an OOC so that characters don't just go do stuff and potentially leave other characters behind, which is a concern of mine given the potential amount of worlds. (For instance, Kairi won't always ~just be spending time with Sora~, I'm 100% open to plot stuff which will monopolise Kairi's time, although we'll see how Sora takes that..........  )

Which is why we'd love to start out with characters who live in, or have travelled, to 'hub' worlds such as Twilight Town: it allows people to start together, plot, make stories, etc.

If it's canon only than I'm going to end up reduced down to the advanced timeline (I mean it's been a bit since this characters came) version of Female Martial Arts Turk from FFVII Before Crisis and Last Order.

Most of the Canons I play are Nova (FMA Turk - FFVII), sometimes I dabble in Aqua - but I'm very particular about how I play her, Kairi, Namine, Xion, and that's it.

I don't dabble in any of the other Canons, except Larxene but I have to know and like the Marluxia roleplayer because that's a serious OTP for me and I don't play Larxene without him - they are sort of a duo that goes way the hell back.

That's all I got going for me if it's strictly canon only. I don't often like female canon characters, I find most of them to be hardly well put together and their motivations are too dissimilar to my own often enough that writing as a female canon makes me cringe.

KH has the pleasure of being one of the few series where I like more than one or two female characters. But given the premise of this game, and when it is, I would be completely unable to play a decent amount of the cast that I enjoy writing as. xD I don't dabble playing in males very often, but I do have experience as Axel, Sora(which is taken I know xD), Roxas, and Ventus... I have a smidge of experience with NPCING Disney World based canons.

I often write the NPC parts for villains or side characters that are useful for the story progression. But other than that, that's all I got going for me?

Admittedly I don't tend to get drawn to Canon only rp groups, but I'm craving a KH group something fierce.

Depends on how much you guys are willing to let me fiddle with FFVII Character canon in the KH universe. I have a variation of things I can do with it, and have my favorite OC who I do enjoy playing. Incomplete Jenova Experiment OC that was created from a singular question I had while playing KH 1. xD That question started a 16 year journey of honing and building this OC.

Now, I also have other OCs. A slightly 'mad' wolf woman with precognition. A pirate Captain who was once a Brittish Noble, and Elemental Master (Mercedes Lackey style) in a world now consumed with Abyss, so she hopped off her world and ended up in the Caribbean and set up shop (She can world travel using the Elemental Planes). An Ex-Keyblade Master, ex-SOLDIER, that was the woman that gave birth to and raised my usual main OC for KH.

I've also got a Nobody who doesn't have a history for a somebody, and she wanders around with a box that has fragments of hearts within - these fragments all embodying the concentrated aspect of a 'feeling'. She's a non-combatant.

I do like the sound of some of your OCs, although I think that this early on in the planning, we're going to stick with canon characters at the start. Just so that characters already have preconceptions and relationships with others, you know?

Obviously we don't want to you to feel pressured into playing someone canon if that's not your preference.  :)  So no hard feelings if you decide not to RP with us!

In hindsight, I agree entirely with Cyrodilic. Kingdom Hearts is what it is because of the characters, both Disney and Final Fantasy, and at this early stage we'd like to proceed with canon characters in mind. Perhaps later on down the line we'd consider non-canon, but for now it's easier to stick with the set roster.

Well, I did list the Canons I'm willing to play? Were none of them compatible with the setting (Obviously the ones that are Sora/Kairi offshoots are out of the question at this current venture, and so is Ventus given the situations as they are.)?

Oh, no, those canons are fine! Sorry if I didn't give that impression!
I'm not sure if you've played KH3 or how far you are into it if you have (Malk still hasn't finished it yet afaik ) so some of those characters would obviously start out in scenarios that would only, with a non-AU setting, start later within Sora's story specifically (as in cutscenes etc), and of course some not at all. That doesn't mean that we can't plot stories with them that are AU. I'm sure it's not a spoiler at all to say that in KH3, although I will put a spoiler tag anyway ,

Sora's trying to get the power of waking to find Aqua, Ventus, etc, and so if this weren't an AU story, they wouldn't really have a place just yet.

But because it is, we can all figure it out together!

Awesome Sauce. I love playing Female Martial Arts Turk. xD She's super fine. I can snag up Axel as well. Let's see if there is any interest in Marluxia. I might poke at my rp partner for my KH Solo, but he may not want to as he also really likes my OCs. xD

I'm not sure. I think I just wanted to toss in my interest for now. My personal favorite Final Fantasies are somewhat underrepresented in KH (mine are 6 and 12) but there's quite a boatload of people to draw on, so...I dunno.

Since I'm picking up Female Martial Arts Turk, I have a modified KH timeline that I use for the world that the FFVII characters came from. It's pre-Aerith's Death since She's alive in KH, but likely before Sephiroth fully went crazy with the whole Library incident. Since he's not completely insane, just driven to challenge others - especially Cloud - to the darkness within themselves.

So essentially Gaia was destroyed, the cast aways from that world were scattered to hub worlds and other worlds (Why Cloud, Tifa, Cid, and the others are in Traverse Town/Radiant Garden. While Sephiroth is mostly in the employ of Hades for a large percentage of the story. This is also before a decent amount of the FFVII timeline since Cloud is alive too.)

ShinRa has established themselves, after finding each other, as an aid for defending the worlds. The Turks are still Rufus' top dogs and the best fighters he has. I usually play FMA closer to her 40's, a grown woman. She was roughly late teens during the events of Last Order. Also I play with wibbly world mechanics since some worlds do not seem to advance the same way timeline wise that others do. Like characters age differently, and some are still quite young even though years have passed since they were first introduced (like Alice.)



I also disagree that Axel would advance faster without Kairi there. I think that Axel gained as much as he did BECAUSE of Kairi, and her presence in his training. He helped her learn and grow, and she gave him a light that he could follow. Without Roxas, Namine, or Xion (who he can't remember) - Axel was adrift. Especially since he's on the other side of the rift in comparison to Saix/Isa. So no, I don't think he'd have advanced faster, so I think my Axel is probably going to be less skilled than people would like. The entire premise of KH is the strength you gain through the bonds of friendship. xD

So my Axel is no more closer to this Mark of Mastery than he was at the end of KH 2.

As to how many characters... I'd say that's up for discussion. Provided a character isn't used by anyone else once it's claimed, I think you should be able to take on as much as you wish/can handle. This allows for people to play a single character or more (I play Sora, Donald, and Goofy, but I don't think I'd take on any one else).

If Clock wants to take over playing Axel, I'm totally book with that. He does it worlds better than I do. I'm definitely taking Larxebe and FMA. I might do npcs when we jump around worlds. . I've got little interest in playing the other available canons.

Hopefully OCs become an option, because then I can add a lot more. Female characters are pretty sparse in the KH universe. Literally feels like a high ratio of make options to female. There is A LOT of male Characters.  But little in the way of female.
