Amplified announcer voice: Dark elves were at war with a human kingdom.  It was a hundred years ago, so most disagree as to who was the aggressor or at fault, despite the elves claiming first-hand knowledge.  In any case, many on all sides died, but soldier Curra was captured, a prisoner of war, then eventually sold to the gladiator circuit, expected to die.  But Curra wasn’t just a fighter, she was a soldier, trained to think, plan, organize, and survive.  She was pretty enough and managed to live long enough to gain some popularity beyond simple novelty, and with popularity came better equipment, living conditions, and favors.  Just as famous gladiators endorsed products, the gladiator circuit used her image in local advertisements to drive ticket sales, and offers of renting the lovely Amazonian gladiator for the night were sold for high prices.  Curra uses her favor to plan entertaining fights, though always careful to gain and advantage and let lessers act as fodder, and to curry greater fame and glory to ensure her popularity and survival.

Yeah, I was figuring I might have to revise things since she’s only level 1, or perhaps that’s her PR/mythology/kayfabe to boost her persona, but really it’s just been one year, and instead of a war it was one raiding party.

Name:  Trilana Dovinae

History:
   Trilana was born to explore the unknown of the world, her insatiable curiosity only grew as she got older.  Delving into ruins or digging for lost treasures, nothing has been out of the ordinary for her.  She's become synonymous with "exploration" in the few circles that deal with it, from adventurers to scholars she's worked side-by-side, or delivered priceless relics.  Never one to turn down a challenge, or to shy away from the unknown, Trilana will champion nearly any cause in between carousing at the bars and telling stories of her exploits.  Naturally commanding with a charming personality, she's often the center of attention or the one guiding the research team through treacherous tunnels.



PS:  Could potentially tie in with Joanie's Android idea, having discovered her in the wreckage perhaps.

History:
   Kye's origins are entirely unknown to her, at least the parts that are more than a few years old. Found amongst fire and strange metal and quite clearly not one of the races commonly found, she was taken in by a local noblewoman as much for study as from concern for her well being. While she was never able to offer any explanation for what she was or where she came from, Kye as she was named, soon demonstrated her nature to her new mistress.
She likes orders and praise, and happily obeys the former when offered the latter - by a woman, or at least an individual who is feminine enough for some part of her to see them as such. The noblewoman who took her in had a certain level of ambition and Kye's eagerness to be given clear instructions to obey was certainly a boon for her efforts in gaining fame and renown through the exploration of ancient and unusual sites.
Her growing interest in her obedient servant's body was something else that Kye was happy to submit to, as well.
Sadly, while they worked well together and Kye found genuine happiness under a firm, caring mistress, the ancient traps that fill those old ruins are still quite deadly and one mistake, one time being slightly too slow, was all it took for her to lose the woman who had given her life direction.
Kye still explores, curious in case she can find any signs or clues as to her own origins, but she feels lost without someone to command her.

History:
Eri Grimskull (formerly Woodpeg), scourge of the seas.  A Corsair and freebooter who preys on slavers and raiders in the greater and lesser seas as well as the merchant ships of House Astor.  The daughter of a prestigious shipwright who was bankrupted in the process of building a magnificent yacht for them... they had offered a contract with loopholes they were exploiting to drive him out of business and take the ship for much less than was promised.  Her law-abiding father went along with this, all the way to indentured servitude, his company forfeited.  The laws couldn’t help her family, so she went outside them!  She stole the ship before the Astors could take it and started raiding their ships to get the money to free him.  Eri knew ships inside and out, she’d grown up in them at the shipyard, even sneaking aboard on sea trials. But he wasn’t the only one in need.  She was free-handed with giving out loot to villages and communities in need when she saw them.  Sometimes a bit too free-handed for her crew! 

Name:  Jenna Stonehearth
Race:  Human
Class: Solarian
Theme: Mercenary
Party Role(s): Melee striker, mother figure.

History:
There have always been wars, and even a little one looks big when you're fighting in it.  Jenna was a veteran sergeant in one who laid down her arms afterwards and took up caring for a house full of war orphans for a few years.  A different life to be sure, but she needed a change.  After watching the sun set after a busy day, seeing it sink down to be replaced by the black sky above, her mind seemed to expand to take it all in.  A brilliant blade of light suddenly to hand, illuminating the area around her... and the zombies creeping up on the orphanage!  She cut them down through the night and when the sun rose that morning, she had a revelation..l the sun and stars were always moving and it was time for her to move too, to shine this light in new places and cut down things that needed to be cut down. Fierce but kind-hearted, she serves as a "team mother."

History:
Val is the seventh daughter of a noble family rich in daughters and not much else, and dowries for that many daughters are a strain.   As such, she entered the church, naturally drawn to the fertile embrace of Arshea, as her mother was before her.  After working for a time at the temple in the capital, she felt the call of wanderlust (which is more literal for daughters of Arshea) and set out to explore new frontiers and experiences.  She’s even taken a turn or two at adventuring... sharing her healing skills for a share of the loot for the church.  The thrill of survival is quite the aphrodisiac too.  Generous and giving.  Free spirited and not modest, she boldly thrusts herself into new situations, doing everything she can to keep her companions on their feet (or on their backs!)
