Safe (F seeking M)

The last time they had seen each other was eight years ago. She ran out of his house crying and he let her go. Their relationship was passionate yet short-lived; no matter how much they both loved each other, they knew that their separation was for the best. She moved to the city and began a career for herself as a successful prosecutor. He remained in the town they grew up in, taking over his family’s business despite his long-ago promises to stay as far away from it as he could.

They cut off all contact following that day, which made it all the more surprising when, late one night, she showed up on his doorstep. Gone was the young, bright, confident girl he had known back in high school. Now she was jumpy, constantly looking behind her and seemingly frightened of her own shadow. She didn’t provide any explanations to him other than to say she didn’t have anywhere else to go, so he didn’t have much of a choice but to let her back into his life.



I'm searching for someone to play the M character opposite my F. One of the primary themes I'm visualizing for the story is (obviously) romance blossoming up again between the two, even though the circumstances are much different than they were when they were previously together. I don't have any specific ideas in my head about what (or who) she's running from, so I'd love to hear some of yours or plot them out together!
