They care in as much as a.) it gives them a chance to own the libs and b.) helps their evangelical constituents pretend to care about Israel's Jewish population by defending the right-wing racists and war hawks like Netanyahu as part of their Rapture Prophecy. Any attempts at peace talks where Jews and Muslims aren't killing each other off in the Holy Land runs counter to this, where the Jews retake the Temple Mount, Jesus comes back, and all remaining non-Christians are forced to convert or perish in hellfire and the evangelicals get to claim Israel for themselves.

I'm not kidding; evangelical support for the Israeli Right is a huge decisive factor in US aid to Israel. Pastor John Hagee's one of the most influential Christian Zionists, and his church creates more funds than Jewish Zionists in the US. The man once infamously claimed that God directed the Nazis to perform the Holocaust to spare European Jews into fleeing to Israel, all part of His plan.

Edit: scare European Jews, not "spare"

Sam was obviously having a blast in that movie. Goose still stole every scene he got into, though.

It's just a good, enjoyable article about Captain Marvel (and an interview with Samuel L Jackson):
https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/movies/new-movies/why-samuel-l-jackson-had-such-a-good-time-making-captain-marvel/news-story/92f53ad0db54daa67d6e27850590cf33
That momentary confusion when you know that "real" Captain Marvel looks like this

but can't work out when Samuel L Jackson started appearing in DC Comics films.

The half of all the universe's literature he read clearly missed Shakespeare's admonition - "first, kill all the lawyers".

Oh my god, this is Handmaiden's tale level of fucked up.  A database tracks the 'breedable' status of women as young as 15 in China. The site has already been taken down, but not before people managed to snag images and some data from it.

It is fortunate for David Steel, the still living former Liberal leader in Britain, that Brexit has dominated the news so much today. It has been said that he knew of the paedophile sex abuse committed by MP Cyril Smith when he was leader, but took no action about them.
I can't emphasize enough how well known and popular Cyril Smith was in the 1970's, when I was a child. He was a member of a third party, with no position in government, but seemed to be ubiquitous as a larger than life character (literally - he was obese), who would express his distinctly illiberal opinions as proof of his blunt northern "common sense" and appear on all sorts of light entertainment shows.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/mar/14/david-steel-faces-suspension-from-lib-dems-over-cyril-smith-revelation

In another event from the seventies, which had repercussions today, one, but only one, British soldier is being prosecuted in connection with the killing of civilians at Derry/Londonderry in 1972.

Australian politician blames the shooting on... immigration.

Quote
"The real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place.”

Mr Anning said Muslims had been the victims in the Christchurch attack but “usually they are the perpetrators”.

Charming fella.

May they rest in peace.

One thing that lightens the weight of this tragedy, is the fact that world leaders are finally recognizing the act for what it is. It is a terrorist attack regardless of who or what is the perpetrator.

It is why I pointed out the words of world leaders.

The world is full of the good and the bad, but once those who can make a change see the things for what they are, then there's hope for change.

A link, to Breitbart news, without comment, is a world leader recognising a terror act?

A link, to Breitbart news, without comment, is a world leader recognising a terror act?

The link Quotes from the Prime Ministers of New Zealand and Australia.

Quote
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern described it as “one of New Zealand’s darkest days”. She also confirmed it was “terrorist attack”. Ardern added: “Many directly affected by this shooting may be migrants to New Zealand, they may even be refugees here...They are us. The person who has perpetuated this violence against us is not.”

Quote
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison earlier confirmed one of the people arrested was an Australian citizen, and described the suspected attacker as an “extremist right-wing violent terrorist”.

In other 'joyous news' Polish newspaper prints article on how to spot a Jew. Guess it's handy if you always wanted to celebrate Seder.

At this point Fox News and its supporters seem to be so departed from the realm of sanity and rational human amotion, I would like to declare them as working in sedition with the Old Gods against all of humanity :P Sanity and Empathy becoming dirty words among some of them.

Hey don't lump the Old Gods in with Fox news readers. That is just insulting to the Old Gods.

oh and if you all are using twitter, be aware that people are spreading the video the shooter made on twitter like mad. So if you have autoplay on then you might see more than you want to see.

The Old Gods have nothing to do with the insanity and hate that fills this world.

In other news - the vaccine that is supposed to protect against whooping cough is not as effective anymore.  Seems the bacteria has mutated, so the vaccine is losing its potency,
