Back Story

The story is set in Mexico and Los Angeles. The main characters are the ensemble cast of the Midrano family. The Midrano family has held the seat of power in the cartel for an untold period of a hundred years. Under their watchful eye they’ve turned the criminal organization into a multi million dollar giant. Hated, Revered, and loved one thing is certain.

They hold the true power in Mexico.

Their dynasty is founded on one cardinal rule. Family is EVERYTHING otherwise known as familia lo es todo. If you’re in the cartel then you and your family is family. The cartel will have your back come hell or high water and anything in between. You do not betray your family and those that do never do so again.  This one rule binds the Cartel together and Law Enforcement Agencies around the world have been unable to break through this rock-hard foundation.

Group Game Concept

At it's core this is an ambitious project to play fairy tale archetypes within a cartel setting. The cartel is very much like a kingdom and its citizens and business are many. The potential in the game and the wealth of characters that you can play as are TOTALLY open. From agents of various law enforcement and government institutions trying to finally take down the cartel to people just trying to survive under their thumb. While I do have some open slots for the actual family itself the recruitment is totally open as well.

The rise and fall of this dynasty is something I want to explore. Do they recover from whatever is headed their way? Do the sons tear themselves apart? Do they rise up stronger than ever? This will be a story WE create.

FAQ

1. Do I have to play a member of the cartel?

No while I do have open slots for members of the Cartel family you can play anyone.

2. Do I have to be of Spanish descent?

No any and all nationalities are open

3. What about sexual preference?

Same this is a game that is open to any and all sexualities

4. Can I take one of the Cartel families and make them my own?

Yes! While I do want them to be certain Archetypes I'm not going to make any one play a certain character

5. How do the fairy tale elements come into play?

Oh boy! While you can see above I listed some Fairy Tale concepts and story beats that's the extent of it so far. Ideally I think we should all be a certain Fairy Tale Archetype of character but make it our own. You want to be Prince Charming? Then build something around that! Rapunzel so on and so forth. I'll give you an example....

Sleepy Beauty! In this game she could easily be a girl awakening from a coma whose father was once prominent in the Cartel

6. Is this a system game?

Nope! Sandbox with a lot of communication and figuring out how this story goes. I want to tell a tale primarily a tale that we all craft together using the basics of what I have created so far.

Being as smart as she is, she is top of her year and is very close to graduating while being on the dean's list for four years straight. Bio: Megan was born in El Paso, Texas to a high school teacher (mother) and a police officer (father).  When she was 12 the family moved to Montana, primarily to take over the running of her maternal grandfather’s ranch; it also got Megan and her older brother Rob away from unsavory elements in the schools they were attending (primarily the high school).  Violence, drugs, and threats made against children of law enforcement officers in the area (mostly by the Madrino cartel).  Rob is now a Marine on active duty.

Megan kept in touch with her friends in El Paso, which meant she heard about the deaths of her two closest friends immediately after the fact.  One died of an overdose during a party at the home of a rich college kid, and the other was the victim of a DUI (drugs, alcohol, God knows what else).  She had already decided to go into law enforcement, and this was what caused her to choose the DEA.  She applied just before her senior year in college and was accepted. 

Since graduating at 21, Megan trained and worked as an enforcement agent.  She’s very competent with the agency’s primary service weapons: the Glock 22 and Glock 23, Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun, and Rock River Arms LAR-15 semi-automatic carbine in 5.56×45mm NATO.  She had studied martial arts since she was a teenager, has always been athletic, and her on the job training has honed her skills further. 

Megan jumped at the chance to work on an assignment targeting the Madrino cartel.  She’s on loan to a somewhat, um, quirky detective in Mexico City.  He’s definitely interesting and likely the only honest Federale in the city (probably the country, if she’s being honest).  Megan knows it’s a dangerous job, right in the heart of the cartel’s kingdom, but maybe by playing Watson to Detective Digorgio’s Holmes she do some real damage.

He's been running up and down for a few years now, deep as it gets and with almost no back up he's aware of.

Outwardly, this hasn't seemed to bother him, but in truth he's had to break the golden rules so many times he's worried he's slipping. Is he any better than what he's after? He doesn't know anymore, the lines between him and his cover are starting to blur. What he does know? Tony is now a trusted source by many, especially for a gringo. People know him now, and after years of shipping their product with no cross wires, he's earned it. That's not to even mention his tearing up on the races.

Bio: Maribella was born in Mexico, though she does not remember anything about her parents, she does remember much of her childhood. Unfortunately. When she was young she was taken from the streets and sold to a family in Los Angeles. He was given a minimal education, and otherwise looked after the house for a wealthy couple.

The family allowed her to have a part time job as she grew older, and she eventually won the affections of the lady of the house. So long as she continued to do what they required of her, she had certain freedoms. It took until she was nearly twenty, but she earned her freedom, it also took every penny she'd ever earned, and then some. She did things that she was no proud of, but they earned her her freedom and got her home to Mexico.

That is where she met the Don. Shared his bed, and earned his trust. So much so that he offered her a job in one of his establishments as a lead dancer, among other things. In return, she keeps her ears to the ground, and has her girls collect information from their charges.

Bio: Griselda grew up with only her father, as her mother died from illness when she was very young. While she loves her father very much, he was scattered brained and half dead inside from her mother passing away. He still loved her, and did everything he could to make her happy, but she was left to maintain the house while her father spent his time working and spending a little time with her. This gave her the ability to completely run the house by the time she was 13. Even now, she stays home while attending her last year in college for financing.

She is currently about one term away from graduating with a bachelor's in the literary studies. Being as smart as she is, she is top of her year and is very close to graduating while being on the dean's list for four years straight. This leaves little time else for boys, making her a virgin and with few friends.
