Problem for any potential DM is that there needs to be a good premise and story other than 'we're all small yo' Bonus points for a uniting fetish, while at it. Last request game I ran started losing players, FAST, after the initial idea had been created. You cannot run, no offense, roleplays on a gimmick alone.

OyabunKobold

While I do agree with that sometimes I am more of the mind that the Gm shouldn't be strong armed into a story that they may or may not want to do.

Personally, I'm pretty fine with any kind of story just would prefer it to be a game of only small characters since that's a Rarity in the world of gaming from what I see. Sides Ive been a GM and I know I'm not adequate to be a GM so I retired my laurels. My ideas for stories aren't usually the most life giving. If the others are interested in trying to come up with something I'll add it to the first post.

Finding a fitting campaign idea is a small problem, yeah.

Eh.. eh get it? Get it..
Haaah..
Welp, I'm a bit down from ma campaigns having such a short half-life myself, so I'm just durdling around here 'cause I need more pathfinder in my life and always did want to make a 'large folk fighter' Halfling using this or the other odd archetype. :P

OyabunKobold

Woo so a possible 5 person group of smols if we can find a gm Woot.

Surely open to the possibility. Go wizard up a DM that can write a fascinatingly emotional and engaging campaign with the odd lewd encounter with tentacles and molesty villains strewn in for funsies. :p

OyabunKobold

lol theres a possibility there if the story allows for it.

Small but mighty.

The idea of a party of small beast slayers would be pretty cool? If we're bouncing ideas.

Small mercenaries. Lead by a jaded veteran that solves problems of opressed small folk communities.

Name it..

The Wee Fellas

OyabunKobold

lol another idea could be is one of us is the survivor of a normal Sized party that got Grievously injured by the BBEG and failed and we are the last hope of people thrown together that would originally not be thought of as the viable option.

Alternatively: A vigilante group. A group of wellmeaning "criminals" looking to aid a town through nefarious means gets drawn into a wider conflict - Smol Robin Hoods.

The entire party set off the DEATH LASER OF DOOOOM which, due to the assumptions of the evil lich that made the dungeon, was set at human chest-height.

Well hello there, fellow smol-fans.

Random ideas as to why a mixed group of smols might be banded together:

Idea 1: Everybody's an escapee from the BBEG's horde, they might've been guards, they might've been slaves, they might've been fodder for situations not worth throwing 'valuable' minions into. They had an escape plot (even the bad guys wante out, the BBEG was just that bad) and then the BBEG got attacked and his forces scattered (they SAY he was destroyed, but did you see the corpse?) unfortunately, the 'heroes' are just as likely to kill off the few helpfully sympathetic guards (think of it as reverse Stockholm syndrome, you're forced to guard and take care of these people for months), so instead they get dragged along together. Dawn breaks but our heroes don't see it, because everybody's lost underground in the deep caverns which connected to the BBEG's lair. So there's the problem of trying to survive and get out, AND trying to work out a way to make sure that the 'less acceptable' members of the team aren't going to be slaughtered on sight.

Idea 2: Ocean's 11. For whatever reason, the vault/dungeon in question absolutely requires people who aren't too vertical.

Idea 3: In this setting, the tall folk tend to control everything and the small folk tend to be citizens-in-name-only. Under such circumstances, typical alignment and race become less of an issue than trying to make their way and be taken seriously in a vertically striated society.

I like the idea of being zeros to heroes, so to speak.

IN A CITY DOMINATED BY AN EVIL TYRANT, WHO RUTHLESSLY EXPLOITS THOSE BENEATH HIS CRUEL REGIME...

"Noooooooo! My spleeeeeeeeeen!!!"

...THERE IS A NEED FOR HEROES...

"Hey Mikey, I think we might be able to get around unseen through these tiny little air ducts and drainage pipes. Good thing no one ever thinks about using those for infiltration!"

...ANY HEROES.

"Wait, don't these lead to the tentacle pits?"

Conundrum

Is Chanti going to be the DM for you guys or do you still need one?
If I have not responded to a post in 4 days, send me a PM as I may have missed it.

Roleplay Frog

I am under the impression that Chanti was just posting bemusing inspirations and anyone interested in DMing should feel encouraged to step forth. ^^

Conundrum

Ah, well, I gave it a week in case anyone else wanted to step up because I have a bit of a dumb idea for a setting but am still working on the campaign.  There are two empires ruled by dragons, they form most of the highest ranked nobility with chromatic and metallic generally opposing one another but some do cross sides.  In recent years a new empire has made itself known, the goblin empire.  From below the mountains they have begun to wage their war of conquest on both dragon nations.  Nobody is particularly winning, in part because the dragons cannot launch effective counter-attacks into the small goblin tunnels they strike from.

As a result kobolds have been doing much of the heavy fighting against the goblins as they are able to meet them on their own terms.  The goblins have make sure their tunnels are too small for others to effectively fight in and litter them with traps and ambushes.  When others attempt to dig into goblin controlled areas they often find ambushes waiting for them.

I figure I could spin this into a campaign of some type though it will take time and just wanted to put this idea forward, I feel it is a bit silly mixed with the cliche but opens possibilities for a small focused campaign.

Clichee is a synonym for reliable and stable, which is not innately a problem. You just gotta make sure it stays interesting. (by including dark tentacle mistresses, for example!)

Should also find an in for other small races.

OyabunKobold

As far as I know Conundrum nope there was no Gms yet I would be interested in seeing that idea though come to fruition :D. We would just need some way for all of our characters to know each other. My kobold probably in that world being Lawful Neutral and Silver scaled on the metallic side of things. :D

Chant's fine. I was just posting ideas because people suggested posting ideas. I'm not married to any of them, nor planning to elope, so if you have some different idea you'd like to GM, I'm all ears.

Just remember they're closer to the ground than usual.

Yes, this, exactly.

As has been mentioned, tropes/cliches exist for a reason. THEY WORK. I am pretty sure that most RPGers on E would rather have a somewhat silly cliched game which actually ran and kept running to something too artsy and too different which players and GM lost interest in because it was convoluted and too different from their expectations.

And yes, we'd need some ways for other small races to be involved, unless everyone here actually does want to play a tiny swarm of kobolds.

Which'd be cool as far as I'm concerned, I find them adorable. But might not suit everyone else who has expressed interest.

I think we had a goblin grippli kobold or 2 gnomes and a kobold atm
