How do I refer people?  Is there any specific system I should use to tell them to join, like a link or anything?

You can use a referral link. It looks like this:

https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?referredby=23998

That number at the end is your user ID. You can find that by viewing your own profile & taking a look at the address bar. In your case it'll look like this:

https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=23998
