Premise

Malcom Cane has reached an agreement with Elliquiy Entertainment Network to air his new wrestling federation, Midnight Championship Wrestling. MCW is branded as raw, violent and sexy, able to push boundaries that other basic cable wrestling programs cannot.  Malcom Cane has been combing the smaller wrestling federations looking for new talent to build his Midnight Wrestling brand. Midnight Championship Wrestling has promised a block buster opening night like nothing wrestling fans have ever seen.

MCW Wrestling follows its wrestlers inside the ring and out.  There are cameras everywhere (including the showers) so as soon as the wrestlers are in the studio or at the arena they are on camera.  Cane Enterprises pays there wrestlers very well for this.  Along with the usual wrestling stipulations and matches, MCW specializes in erotica too.  Bondage themed matches, matches with sex toys in play, full on backstage gang bangs, they are all possible and encouraged be management.  Malcom Cane keeps match booking varied and leaves a lot of the titillating match stipulations for the pay-per-views.

(OOC: If you do not wish your character to be booked in these matches that is fine, let me know.)

This is an alternate word were Kayfabe is real.  Wrestling is real.  Wrestlers don’t go backstage and drop their persona. They really dislike each other or fall in love.  They really bust each other open in hardcore or hell in a cell matches.  There really act as wild and crazy as their gimmick says they do.

There are two shows during the week  MCW Unleashed and MCW Nightmare.  MCW Unleashed is the flag ship show.  It has more of your typical wrestling fair ranging from PG to softcore content depending on what is going on backstage or how good ratings have been in the preceding weeks.  The Unleashed set is bright with reds and golds dominating.  Pyrotechnics are in abundance and the entire production screams up tempo and furious energy.  MCW Nightmare is more hardcore in both its wrestling and erotic content.  Purple, blue and silver are the dominant colors and the lighting focused more on the ring, giving it a dark and ominous feel.  Pyrotechnics are more muted and thematic.  Grim determination and survival are the themes Nightmare employs.

The Game and the Rules

Matches start out with one player in control (notice I said player and not wrestler).  This player is the one that posts.  The player should post all aspects of the match in their post.  Yes, this is god-moding, but necessary to keep the flow.  Remember to make your opponent look as good as you make your wrestler.  If you do not, I reserve the right to have you lose the match and possibly kicked from the game if players grief (anything sexual will have to be approved by the player of the character having the act preformed on them).

MATCH RESULTS:  Each show will use one statistic to determine the result of the match.  This will be posted in the Show Thread for the week.  You will subtract your opponents stat from yours and add any momentum you have, then take that result and add or subtract it from your roll. The higher ranked player (or whoever the players in the match decide) will make the roll for their finishing move and consult the table below for the results.

FINISHING MOVE ROLL
When you’re booked in a match, roll 2d6.

On a 10+, you hit your Finisher clean. Choose whether you gain +1 Audience, or whether your opponent does. (You cannot use the same choice twice in a row).

On a 7-9, Your opponent makes you work for it. Chose: you win clean, and you both gain +1 Momentum, or win via count out, disqualification or interference, and gain +1 Heat with your opponent.

On a botch {2-6) , choose: you lose -1 Audience (but get the win) or you lose.

Heat:  This is a measure of how popular your feud is with the crowd.  Heat resets to 0 with after each Pay-Per-View.

Momentum: Momentum can be used to modify your next finishing move roll.  It resets after you use it.

Audience: Determines your ranking.  The more Audience the better ranking.  Audience can only reach 10.  Losing a title drops your ranking 5 points.  Tag Teams Audience is separate from Single Wrestler Audience.
1-4 – Low Card
5-7 – Mid Card
8-10 – Upper Card

FAQ
Will there be a separate Women’s Division?  No. Titles are genderless and open to men or women.

Can I have more than one characters?  Yes.  The only stipulation to this is that your additional character must be the opposite role of your previous character.  If your previous character was a FACE, your next character should be a HEEL.  The only exception to this is if your character is part of a tag team in which case it can be the same Role as their tag team partner.

Can I play a manager?  Yes, but…. If we do not have a lot of players you may need to create a wrestler too.  There is no point in having managers if we don’t have enough wrestlers to get the game going. If you are interested in the game but don’t know anything about wrestling then being a manager may be perfect for you.

Can I have a manager NPC?  Yes, They will be like any other npc in game and just used for flavor.

Can I play Triple H…AJ Styles…Asuka…insert wrestler here….?  See post below.

Mace "The Highland Park Strangler" Hunley

Gimmick: Mean Street Anti-Hero
Role: Heel
Hails From: Mean Streets of Detroit, Michigan
Entrance Music: Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine
Entrance & Ring Attire: Gritty montage of the Highland Park Projects with flashes of Mace chocking out opponents.  Highland Park Strangler flashes across the titantron in jagged lettering while Bulls on Parade plays.  Mace strides to the ring to a mixed reaction of boos and cheers while he ignores the fans his title belt slung over his shoulder. When he hits the ring he

Personality & Background: Unpredictable, manipulative and brutal.  Mace has no time for authority telling him what to do.  No one tells Mace what to do.  He is not at all above using underhanded tactics to get ahead as the only goal is to be the top dog, nothing else matters. Life on the streets at a young age made Mace a survivor.  He earned the nickname the Highland Park Strangler in illegal cage fights where he nearly killed a guy with a choke hold.  Mace's time at Can-Am gave him enough discipline to keep him out of jail and a sense of direction for the first time in his life.  That said the street tough is still there and he brings that with him to the ring night in and night out.

Raising on the mean streets of Highland Park in Detroit, Michigan, Mace has run a foul of the law many throughout his youth.  It grew up fighting and was saved from a life in jail by joining CAN-AM Wrestling school.  The streets of Highland Park taught Mace to survive and thrive in a dog eat dog world where being strong wasn't enough.  You had to be smart and tough.  He has been shoot, stabbed, beaten and still he comes out on top.  A true predator on the streets and in the ring.  Mace's wrestling style is brutal, a combination of overwhelming strikes and crippling holds meant to tear down his opponents mentally and physically.  Seen as unpredictable and violent by other wrestling organizations Mace was snatched up by MCW and signed quickly knowing that his attitude and skill would put him in line for a title right away.  Now can Malcom Cane keep the angry pitbull on a tight lease or will his vicious animal get loose and wreak havoc on his organization.  Either way it will make for good ratings.

Stats:
Power: +1
Agile: -1
Aerial: -2
Technical: +2
Rough: +3
Savvy: 0

Heat:
Jack Diamond: 2
Heather Magnus: 1

Moves:

Move Set:  Mace combines brutal strikes and dirty tricks to wear down opponents.  His cold rage sometimes overcomes his ring talent, but everything he does is to set up his opponent for his finisher the Highland Park Strangler

Signature Moves:  Hangman’s Noose and Throat Crusher Lariat

Finishing Move:  Highland Park Strangler (Crippler Crossface)

I'll plant a flag for interest.

I myself would prefer to write original characters. But I'd be up for a mix of original and real

I'll express my interest as well.

I have a vague concept in mind of an old-school style Russian Communist heel like you had with the Volkovs.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Untamed Skies

So what would Savy mean in terms of a wrestling match? Like knowing to roll out of the ring when hit by a big move not to get pinned or where the rope is for a rope break?

Dirty tricks, backstage politics...etc,,etc...Savy is knowing the rules so you can break them.

I am not using the full system just borrowed and modified a bit of it to help add some randomness into match resolution.  Most of this is free form.

What does Rough measure?

Rough moves: Stiff strikes, Hardcore Moves like chair shots, Clothesline’s, bear hugs...etc.  Think of them all in terms of moves types your wrestlers are good at.

Batista would have a high Power
John Bradshaw would have a high Rough.
Rick Flair a high Savvy
Rey Mysterio a high Aerial
Kurt Angle a high Technical
Shawn Micheals a high Agile

Cold Heritage

Alrighty, thanks. Here's a first draft of my character. I've left the heat part unfinished for potentially distributing it to other player's wrestlers. Hopefully that's an okay move.

Anton "General Winter" Medvedev

Gimmick: The Red Menace, an unstoppable Russian monster out to destroy America!
Role: Heel
Hails From: The frozen tundras of Smolensk, Russia
Entrance Music: The Red Army Is the Strongest by the Red Army Choir
Entrance: The lights go out. After about a few seconds they come back on, all in red, and Anton makes his way purposefully to the ring. He strides up the ring steps with confidence and purpose, mounts the middle ropes and faces out towards the audience, staring coldly.

Personality & Background: Anton is cold like the Russian winter. He is ungiving and harsh like the frozen tundras of Mother Russia. His heart is strong and proud and it is for the People! Anton believes in the great message of Socialism and seeks to destroy capitalism and its evils with his own two hands! His approach to his match is one of stolid endurance. He can take anything that anyone has to give, and when their pathetic attacks are spent he will take them apart with cold, remote disdain. That is how he earned his moniker of General Winter: cold, icy determination in the face of the most grueling punishment has always been his path to victory. However, there is a certain honour that Anton holds himself to! He fights like a man! Whereas others are all too happy to live a life ruined by corruption and underhandedness, Anton does not stoop to avaricious capitalism shortcuts and skullduggery! No lowblows! No shenanigans!

Anton was born in Smolensk and grew up in the last days of the USSR. Those were not the proudest days for the Soviets, but decades of American intervention and undermining had resulted in the glorious edifice constructed by Lenin, Stalin, and so many other great comrades being transformed into a rotting shell ready to fall at any time. They were hard times and there was much danger as corrupt officials abused their powers to oppress the workers. Anton was drafted as all males were into the Red Army, and there he endured brutal hazing by his superior officers and those senior to him. But Anton endured and took his revenge where he could. It was a dish served ice cold. In his time in the Red Army, Anton was shot, stabbed, poisoned, set on fire, left naked in sub-zero temperatures, electrocuted, and made to fight a bear on three non-consecutive occasions (they were also different bears each time). He also saw action in Chechnya and engaged enemy combatants.

But all great things come to an end. The USSR collapsed, and Anton's term of service in the Red Army ended. He returned to Smolensk and turned to honest labour to earn an honest living, but the new Russia was flooded with gangsters and bankers and men who were both with the newly deregulated free markets. Unchecked avarice and greed saw the people set to starving and labour completely devalued. Anton was forced on more than one occasion to fight for his life to protect a loaf of bread that was his day's wages from thieves. His ability to fight ultimately won him attention from gangsters, who threatened Anton's family if Anton did not participate in underground death matches. To protect his family, he did. When there was no one in Russia left who could challenge Anton, he was forced to fight in Japan in Yakuza sanctioned matches, and some of these made it to television through 'legitimate' Japanese wrestling federations. Anton's family had, meanwhile, passed away from illness, unable to afford doctors or medicine due to rampant capitalism and the dismantling of state medical care in the post-Soviet Russia. Freed from any control, Anton fought for himself and became a free agent in Japan, working high profile matches there against the likes of the Rainmaker and other noted Aces.

Such matches brought Anton to the attention of MCW talent scouts and eventually tapes were shown to Malcolm Cane. The decision was made to bring General Winter to America. The Russian Invasion begins!

Stats:
Power: +3
Agile: -1
Aerial: 0
Technical: +1
Rough: +2
Savvy: -2

Audience:  6

Heat: <You have 3 heat to distribute to any wrestlers (minimum of two).  This is just a level of how into your feud with someone the crowd is.  It will help with booking an likely change depending on the outcome of the match.>

Moves:

Move Set: Anton's style is a simple, straight forward big man style. He weathers the punishment his opponent doles out and fights back with strikes to the midsection and slams that punish the opponent's back. He frequently uses holds like a bearhug or an abdominal stretch to weaken his opponent or capitalize on damage already inflicted to build towards his signature moves and finisher.

Signature Move:  The Prolelariat: A clothesline from hell. The Voroshilov slam: a 360 degree spinning spinebuster, with the opponent elevated by Anton's arms grasping the opponent's midsection in bearhug style.

Finishing Move:  The Iron Curtain: a delayed vertical suplex off the top rope. Often into the ring . . . but sometimes to the ring apron.

Nice!  And yes saving heat until we have some other wrestlers is fine.  You can also pick and npc wrestler to have heat with too.

Absolutely.  Promos, skits, feuds, interviews, run-ins all that stuff.  If you and your opponent have an ending you want for a match go for it.  The roll is more for resolution if you can’t come to one yourselves.
