Also, I don't think this will be a problem, but you can only have twice as many threads as there are players.

Just a little bit of info that not everybody knows in regards to small group games. ^^
This doesn't have to end in a fight, Buck.
It always ends in a fight.
You pulled me from the river. Why?
I don't know.

Hmmm....yeah, I think Drazzek would fit better in "Team Tragic Past," overall. Partly because of the theme being a better fit, and partly to help with their squishiness problem :P

Men in general judge more by the sense of sight than by that of touch, because everyone can see but few can test by feeling. Everyone sees what you seem to be, few know what you really are; and those few do not dare take a stand against the general opinion. Therefore it is unnecessary to have all the qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them. And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite.

and yeah, those threads look ok. You can only have double as many ythreads as you have players though, so choose the threads wisely ;)

TSB and I have been in communication. I have sent him a portrait and character sheet for Tsabo Vercek, the LE male tiefling Unchained Rogue.

I will be doing a full write-up tonight.

So just to clarify so I make the right number of threads:

1. Main Thread(combat and general rp)
2. OOC
3. General Information Tracker- Can keep kingdom maps and the exploration map there?
4. Character Sheet Thread
5. Sex Thread

So 5 threads per party?

1. Main IC thread (Per Party)
2. OOC thread (per party); first post by the GM for important info, maybe a couple "spacer" posts, followed by the group's character sheets on hte first page. Maps would go in OOC
3. I've always been baffled by the want for a persistent "sex thread" - especially if you end up with multiple scenes jumbling together in there! I think it's better to handle it either in the IC thread, or to create a 1-on-1 (or however many) thread as per need, and link it in the OOC (if you want to show off, of course)

Saves on clutter, and I dunno if it's just me but I get annoyed by having liek seven threads for one game in my bookmarks  ;D

Name: Tsabo Vercek

Gender: Male

Age: 67

Race: Tiefling (base)

Class: Unchained Rogue (no archetype)

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Description:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Tall and lean, Tsabo stands out by virtue of his height and the simple fact that he is red, has horns, and sports a long, active tail. His eyes glow with inner light, adding interest to an otherwise hard, inexpressive face. Clothing is never a concern, as Tsabo seeks to blend in at all times, choosing unobtrusive garments and often concealing his dagger in a hidden wrist sheath. The sword at his hip is plain, riding on a simple leather belt. If his tunic is removed, a large, intricate tattoo is spread across his entire back, a chained devil seemingly struggling against his bonds, while a succubus graces his right bicep and an imp his left bicep.

Personality:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Tsabo desires power and influence, and everything else about the man stems from this fact. While others might seek to force their way up the ladder of success, he plays the long game, watching and learning, turning his observations into advantage. While fully capable of violence or theft, Tsabo prefers to avoid them, only employing such tactics when pushed into it. He will defend himself, and with cunning, but does not like to murder in cold blood. An enemy warrior knows their life is forfeit the moment they take their post. An unarmed civilian is not a target. And children never are. Tsabo never got a full childhood, and his heart goes out to kids everywhere.

Fear is strong in Tsabo, especially when it comes to loss of freedom. Each time he was caught in some minor crime in New Stetven, the manacles of the guardsmen taught him more and more the terror of being bound. While his ego is larger than life, Tsabo seeks to show his capability through actions to earn the admiration of others rather than boasting of his exploits. He wants others to know him by reputation, not by his own mouth. Tsabo stays quiet unless he feels his words absolutely relevant, and then will speak and insist on his point of view against all comers. The tiefling has never been drunk, but will drink moderately any time he gets the chance.

Background:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
While a nostalgic family might consider themselves “Issian” or the average man now might say “Brevan”, Tsabo has never really identified with anything more than himself. When he was born, it was immediately evident that he wasn’t human. The horn buds at the top of his brow were nothing compared to the full-blown tail that sprouted from his rear. The scuttlebutt around town was already rampant that Illya Vercek was pregnant without a father anywhere in sight, but the fact that her spawn was an abomination in the sight of the gods cemented her dishonor. Tales flew this way and that of the dark predilections the young woman must hold to consort with the sorts of fiends that gave rise to this ilk. That she swore that the only man she had been with was bona fide nobility was disregarded, and mother and son were swiftly expelled from town to eke out an existence on the streets of the capital of New Stetven.

The first thing young Illya discovered was that her son was not developing as fast as a human boy would. He needed more care, and while she loved him dearly and whispered of the beautiful man who had given him to her, her heart slowly hardened until every day was one of pure regret. Regret for how easily she had been seduced. Regret for birthing Tsabo. Regret for not abandoning him in the years after. The crews of the riverboats hauling Brevoy’s bounty away for sale were far from the comforts of home, and the gold they earned burned through their pouches, trickling into those of the likes of Illya. Nobody wanted to marry the woman with the hellspawn bastard, but they’d pay to sleep with her.

Beauty fades, and in the two decades where his mother could continue to earn decent money, Tsabo grew into an inquisitive child. He learned to stalk the streets of New Stetven, hiding from those who would kick him and spit at his feet. He saw how the city ran. Nobody cared where he was as long as he wasn’t causing trouble, so the youth learned to act through proxies. A copper in the hands of the right child could spark trouble on a grand scale. Two coppers could get almost anything. It wasn’t until Tsabo’s twenty-sixth winter that the other shoe dropped. While his heritage had held him back both physically and socially, the loss of his mother to the wasting disease broke him. Alone and afraid, he turned to the only people who would take him in: a gang of young ne’er-do-wells.

This was exactly what Tsabo needed, as much as he would never admit it. Tsabo had no wish to be a doer, but the experience of doing only reinforced his values. He learned to skulk, to watch, to take. Due to the circumstances of his birth, he still had nigh on four decades of learning in front of him, and he put them to good use. By the time rumors spread that the swordlords were looking for willing bodies to lay claim to the Stolen Lands, Tsabo had risen through the ranks enough to itch for more. The drive to leave New Stetven behind and create a real life for himself. More than just cutting purses and swindling old ladies. Tsabo had one last bit of business to attend to, though.

The morning after Tsabo disappeared, hidden in one of the wagon trains departing New Stetven for points far and wide, a body was discovered with a knife through its back, pinning a hand-scrawled note in place. The suspected child-peddler, Darriq Lumpa lay in a pool of his own blood with the words “For the children” scrawled on the parchment on his back. Tsabo would never see the fruits of his small deed of nobility, as he had ambitious plans for the Stolen Lands. He held no love for what was once Issia, and the Rostlanders’ gold was perfectly fine with him. It was time to secure a charter and go teach the untamed wilds that Tsabo Vercek was their master.

Just have information all together in one thread for that and battles should be taking place in the main IC thread anyways. You could potentially also put the character sheets for the group in the information thread.

So you should have;

1) OOC Thread
2) IC Thread
3) Information Thread (includes character sheets and book-keeping).

Then if anyone wants sexy times, they can make their own one-shot threads for that seperate to the main games.

Oh hell no, no no no, no no no.

You keep the World Building and the Character Sheets separate, otherwise you end up having to scroll through pages of information before you get to the bio you're looking for, and if you want to ADD anything after the fact and run out of room? You're screwed. You need to keep the Bios separate from the Information. Besides, keeping the bios with the battle tracker with the world information is just plain messy.

As for sexytimes, no. You do NOT have players create their own threads because then A) you don't have it bookmarked easily, and B) they're still part of the game so they still count towards the total number of threads. You have one unified Sexytime thread for the game that people go into to play that, so it doesn't add up your own thread counter and it's easily moved in the event you get a Big Game.

By "Battle Tracker," I don't mean the battle thread. I mean a thread where you keep the map, the initiative order, the feed (who damaged who, the status of each player and enemy, etc etc) and everything else. Otherwise people lose track of what's going on and who's where, they can't plan out their moves properly because they don't have any maps, etc etc. Having a specific thread where that information is easily accessible? Cuts down a LOT of work for everybody involved.

For this kind of game, three threads is way too low and it just jumbles information together too much. And the "History Thread" is for people who want to play out in-canon encounters in the past, or who had side scenes in the main thread that didn't get completed in time for whatever reason.

Either way, speaking as an experienced GM (both System Based and Freeform) for this kind of game...three threads is way too low.

Okay, I agree on the character sheets and information thread being seperate, that's fine.

I didn't think if a person wanted to set up a thread and do their sex-times in it that it counted as a thread for the game. I figured, sure it has characters from the game in it, though is seperate in that it's just smuttery involving those characters. Also, it'd be for sex-times only. Once they were done, they'd be back posting in the IC thread, so the only things others are missing is smut, not game-chatter. If that makes sense. So no need to Bookmark and follow a thread if you don't want to.

Otherwise, sure I concede to your post.

Vergil Tanner

The problem is that the thread count applies to everything to do with that game. It's my understanding that if the characters are in that game, and that side scene is Canon to the game itself, then it qualifies as part of the game and therefore counts towards the thread count. much easier to have it in one unified place, so people don't have to start creating and keeping track of dozens of threads that also negatively impact how many threads the game itself is allowed.

This is an issue I'd never encountered before. I've never played PbP in a location where the GM was limited as to how many threads they can make.

My 2cp is that one big sexytimes thread can be rather awkward. I don't have a fix for it, and as I'm unlikely to actually use such a thread, it won't affect me one way or the other. I just realize that it can easily get cluttered, just as an active RLD threadmight.

Also, if anyone is especially good at explaining how E's tables are coded, or has a link to an in-depth post explaining it, I'd be greatly appreciative. I'm a fan of highly detailed character sheets, and I'd rather have something solid in E's BBCode than rely on an offsite sheet.

Thanks, and I look forward to working with you folks!

I've been thinking and I don't really want to play in this game anymore. I'm not liking the atmosphere of confrontation in the OOC chatter atop of my own realisation that my own posts are going to be shit, plus my character is underpowered compared to everyone else.

Good gaming everyone.

This is not your first time backing off from a game because you felt your char being underpowered wander (just wanted to say your char is not underpowered). But if feel otherwise not want join the game or feel atmosphere being bad (nor want to try discuss or fix it), then good luck and hopefully you find game which to join :)

Last minute tag that I've been discussing with TSB elsewhere as a possible frontliner:

Aaleyah, and

Aaleyah as an Eidolon.

I think I got most everything sorted out, but by all means drop me a note if something's screwy. I haven't played a synthesist before.

Background
While House Orlovsky may have a reputation for avoiding conflicts, it's sometimes difficult to avoid internal struggle, particularly when it comes to the offspring of wayward scions. When said offspring is clearly the product of an illegitimate affair with a Jann, the conflict is apt to be quiet where outsiders are concerned, but intense within the immediate family. Bastards (male or female) will be bastards, but even so, a certain amount of decorum is expected.

The upshot of Aaleyah's birth and subsequent handing-off to her father when he arrived to see his offspring is that she's not considered anything to do with the lineage (after all, her mother, a younger daughter of a by-blow of one of the Orlovsky boys, wouldn't truly qualify, either). Her father found raising her difficult (children don't come with manuals, hybrid children with elemental lineages don't even come with good advice from the neighbors), and cut a deal with a human couple trying to scratch a living out of a stony mountainside. They raised his daughter until she could fend for herself, and he cleared rock for fertile dirt and ensured that it stayed that way in perpetuity.

Aaleyah has met and knows her Jann father (who goes by Abbas) but finds herself far more attached to her human foster-father and mother. Unfortunately, the older she grew, the stranger she grew, manifesting powers which were as difficult to hide as they were to explain. When the other farming folk of the region took matters into their own hands and killed her foster-father, she hugged her foster-mother goodbye and hit the road. Aaleyah has since left the vicinity of Stoneclimb and wandered southward, making her way as an adventuress, since there aren't many other paths open to a young woman who occasionally transforms into a stone-and-crystal gryphon-thing.

The opening of expeditions into the Stolen Lands has drawn her further southward, in search of companions and opportunities.

Personality
Aaleyah is something of an optimist, and suffers the unfortunate combination of wanting to trust everyone and being too easily hurt. Her upbringing was hopelessly provincial, and while she can talk at length about farming, and (surprisingly) about the noble bloodlines of northeast Brevoy, otherwise she seems a touch unworldly...In all senses of the word.

Description
A short, slender waif of a young woman with earth-toned skin and eyes and hair that are inhumanly emerald, Aaleyah is hard put to convince anyone that she's anything other than what she looks like: some kind of strange, magical crossbreed. In this case, one of the Suli, although they are uncommon in these lands.

Hate to see you go Wander!

Things are moving on though. I'll probably make a Character to fit the Skill Monkey roll on the Second Chance team unless there is some shuffling.

Aside from that unpleasantness......we are actually moving on. Next Post will have the threads for the The Divine Mandate Team.

I have decided for this format.

Battle Information Thread: Thread with update battle info maintain by GM
General Information Thread: Thread with general information maintained by Both GM and PCs. Kingdom Building and Exploration Info goes here.
OOC Thread: Obvious the intent
Main Thread: Main rp thread for roleplaying and noncombat exploration/reactions
Character Roster: obvious as well
