@TSB:

Serra's a former Sacred Prostitute of Calistria from the River Kingdoms seeking the wealth and power to found a new temple to her Goddess and find new adherents (whores) to serve in the House of Joy (brothel portion of the temple).

She's also a follower of Calistria's Paladin Code (She's only an Oracle since antipaladins are so much weaker then normal paladins it's not even funny and none of the paladin archtypes really work for someone who's CN even though they removed the alignment restriction. :P):

My life is my path, and none will sway me from it.
I devote myself to the pursuit of my passions.
I take what I desire, by trick or by force. If others resent my actions, they may attempt to take vengeance against me.
All slights against me will be repaid tenfold.
I am the instrument of my own justice. If I am wronged, I will take vengeance with my own hands.

In my part I am happy with party composition, albeit Vergil told his issues and not sure will NG halfling bard fit in either :P. Albeit he is a noble and can understand ambition of other noble born/related folks, but we go with quite harsh hand (evil aligned/harsh lawful manner).

TheScarletBlade

I think both good people in your party are gonna be shuffled out, so that your party can be as harsh as they want. :D

So we basically got .. Evil Kingmakers kingdom of tyranny, tragic backstory folks kingdom of proving oneself, and the slimy bog-kingdom..
Who'd want to be a citizen where? :P

TheScarletBlade

Your not far off the mark Deva!

Parties were revised, check back to the listing to see changes?

Also feel free to  get me to revise them again if there are any issues?

Huehue, I'm glad Alni can work interchangeably between an outcast or a tragic backstory person. I'm fine with the changes though, I think the new group can certainly be fun as well. Though I must admit that I'm a little sad that Alni didn't get a cute little reason for joining in the new group. :p

Lol actually Alni was originally an outcast and had a cute reason for being with them. Forgot to copy and paste it in lol.

Still here, sorry had a busy weekend, seems I missed a bunch! @__@

Anyways, to briefly add in... ScarletBlade; yeah, having Serpico skip out on his adopted family sounds fine to me! I'm kinda wavey still on how things were for him under his House's banner. I'm getting a feel of doing a lot of in-game character development with him, which tends to work well with me usually. I can hammer out some basics if needed however. Just lemme know.

Miroque

For me, the "team Tragic Past" seems pretty suitable for Kingmakery and even we do not have "frontline PC" it can be remedied with few henchmen (and/or druid's and Hunter's companions)

@TheScarletBlade:
Any change of putting the list of characters and their groupings on the first post or something (or better yet, make new threads for them) It starts to become an job to seek through this thread form anything.

As long as your fine with Serpico having a "tragic past" of some sort your development is your own.

I think I'll just stick with the tiger companion for my Druid. For some reason, though, I used a different sheet for her. lol

Looks good to me; I'll be swapping Luckums up a bit to make her a little more skill-heavy and "Party Face"-ish.

Huh...

Apparently Serra is on the fast track to being an Oracle Queen... (Unless the 'Skill Monkey' has a Cha of 18+) This is going to be an interesting kingdom!

That reminds me. @TSB You said no Homebrew but are we still allowed to invent things? Like new spells, special buildings for our settlements and kingdom hexs, or the like? Also are we using the District rules for settlement building? And if we make personal 'businesses' and/or 'organizations' will those count as new buildings in our settlement or will we still need to buy them for BP? Or possibly will we get a discount? (Ex: Serra builds a temple to her goddess, does it count as a 'temple' settlement building? or will it still cost BP? If so will is still cost the full 32BP or only 16?)

I've got Celeste mostly done. Just transferred her stats from the older version of the sheet to the newer one. Though there's still things I think I need to add. Like a feat for her, and...a trick?

Now I'm wondering if I allocated skill points wrong for Aurora... *purses lips in thought*

One of the best book series ever ended up with a rogue as king. I digress though, I think your teams warpriest might have an issue with you as queen? Though a male warpriest king and Oracle queen making a theocracy would be very interesting.

As for a temple, the kingdom building section in the third adventure has specific rules for kingdom building as it pertains to kingmaker, when the time comes, I am sure we can sort out the Oracle getting her brothel.....I mean temple!

Vergil Tanner

Quote from: TheScarletBlade on April 08, 2018, 01:01:52 PM
@Vergil: You just gotta ruin a perfectly good party motif! I figured Drazzek's past of killing assholes would pair well with Linde's background of hunting bandits. I guess Drazzek could fit well with team tragic past, though I would have to maybe shuffle some other people around. I guess if Drazzek joins team tragic past they will be the nature loving group lol.

He could fit well into either of the two parties, though personally I would say he fits better into "Tragic Past" than "Outcasts," since he's more of an outcast by choice than by necessity.

Quote from: TheScarletBlade on April 08, 2018, 01:09:58 PM
Also @Vergil: How mutated of a fighter are you?

It's not a Mutated fighter, it's a Mutation Fighter. He - at level 3 - can imbibe an Alchemists Mutagen with basically pushes him past normal limitations. At level 3, it's basically like roiding up. It's only at level 7 where the potentially weird stuff happens :P

*looks at the party composition*

Damnit, I was hoping for "Team Tragic Past" since I think the theme fits Drazzek better, but he can work with The Outcasts as well, so long as the frog keeps her Evil on the sly. :P

Men in general judge more by the sense of sight than by that of touch, because everyone can see but few can test by feeling. Everyone sees what you seem to be, few know what you really are; and those few do not dare take a stand against the general opinion. Therefore it is unnecessary to have all the qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them. And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite.

I was basing that statement mostly on the mechanics, you need a high Cha to be the Ruler and no other stat will do. Since Serra has the highest Cha in the party by a significant lead, and it's only going to get higher, she's the obvious choice. Also his backstory does mention wanting to be the power behind the throne if he doesn't sit on it himself. So we'll just have to make him the High Priest or the Marshal, Trisiel is the obvious choice for Magister or Treasurer, and Linde would be the Spymaster

There is also taking the leadership feat and being the power behind the throne with a cohort on the throne.

That works for other positions but the Ruler gets to add their Leadership feat bonus to their Cha for their bonus, and most DM's don't allow cohorts to take Leadership as well... it starts getting too recursive. :P

I part ways I invested on charisma with mind that my warpriest could fill role of a ruler. Even if king is 'main' ruler, queen's charisma gets added up fully and so there is benefit for having both a king and queen sitting on the throne. However head priest role is something which needs filled (it gives vacancy penalty to two stats and creates constant growing unrest so long position remains unfilled). So my char can settle on idea that he is power behind the throne situation so long he gets recognized as true noble than just as 'bastard' and eventually get own city to run.

Another important role is Spymaster as without economy you cannot buy or expand kingdom. As are treasurer and warden (but again any necessary kingdom roles can be covered by cohorts so long the role is not a ruler). Example my char could be ruler but then via leadership pick a cohort which will be a queen and adds her charisma modifier to mine and gets big boost. Or apply my cohort as warden or any other missing kingdom role (as I imagine we are 5th level by time we starts establish kingdom and such so leadership is must take for everyone).

Also if my char is ruler he could marry and pick high charisma NPC as his queen (as form of political alliance to important party or faction).

persephone325

So, can anyone tell me what all the humanoid subtypes are? I need to pick one for my feat. I also don't know which would be a good one to pick. Or if I should just pick a different feat all together.

All of that is true but applies to my character just as much as yours. I say lets table the idea until we've started playing... we still need to reach the third book before it's even relevant. :P

Which feat and what does it do? That rather changes which subtype would be 'good'. :P

So... going full Evil then? Should probably just pick Humanoid (Human) then.

No...? I don't see the act of drinking blood from foes as evil.

The original backstory was that I had taken the feat so she could drink from her adopted sister when she needed.
