Basically it takes place in the distant future. Thanks to technology and gene splicing humans were able to cure all the aliments that inflicted them by using genetic engineering in insert animal D.N.A into humans that suffered from particular disease ( i.g. shark DNA for families that have a strong history of cancer). The first attempts failed miserably resulting in Khepers humans who had adverse reactions to the D.N.A. Out of those Khepers only those with mammalian D.N.A were able to transform into their animal forms. the ability to transform is the only difference between humans and Khepers.
Humans: Looks - Normal, no super human abilities, can mate/marry other humans, Khepers, and/or Khered.
Weavers: Humans born to non weaver Human parents with a genetic adaption that allows humans to be able to affect particular aspects of a another creature without the use of medical technologies. Their powers usually manifest in the early years of their life especially dream weavers but can appear as late as 20 years of age. they are recognized by a tattoo like birth marks (in their corresponding color) located somewhere on their body depending on which zodiac sign they are born under:

Blood Weavers: Can use their powers to affect the blood of another creature weather human, Kheper or Khered. They use their powers to hunt down and kill rogue Khepers usually in a gruesome fashion.
Dream Weavers: Can use their powers to go into other's dreams and shape them any way they wish, tell fortunes and sometimes predict the future of a human, kheper or khered.. Dream weavers are extremely rare and are highly feared because of their powers to influence others.
Kheper: direct descendants of the first humans to receive animal D.N.A. Mammals can transform into their animal counterparts. Have the ability to heighten any of there senses (eg taste, touch, smell...ect).
Mating: other khepers and offspring will be khepers
with humans and offspring will be Khered (this is generally frowned upon but isn't a huge deal)
with Khereds and offspring will be Khepers
Khered: children of humans and Khepers. Have animal features of the Kheper parent ( I.g. A cat kheper and a human would have a khered with cat ears and a tail). Generally looked down upon because of the interspecies mating by both Khepers and Humans. Has permanently hightned senses and abilities unique to the animal of their Kheper parent.
Mating: with other Khereds offspring will be either human or kheper
with Khepers offspring will be Khepers
with Humans offspring will be Human
General rule with children/births: Single births are extremely common. Twins are uncommon but do happen and are always either both Khepers, both Humans, both Khered or one Kheper and one Human. Any births higher than that (triplets, quads ect...) are extremely rare and usually result in the death of the mother. Just like with the twins the children will be either Khepers, Humans or (unlike with the twins) Khered.
Rogue Khepers: Khepers who have killed other Khepers, Humans or Khereds needlessly in their bestial state (if they have one). For Reptilian Khepers though they do not transform their animalistic side become dominate after their first kill. Once the first kill in this state has been made they cannot return to their human form. A Kheper becomes a rogue when they contract the Wasserchu virus.
Wasserchu Virus: A virus that adversely affects Khepers only. Symptoms include subtle abnormal behavior before the “snap” occurs in which the Kheper goes into a berserker mode (if mammalian they transform for this berserker mode) killing every and anything that comes close. There have been no discoveries as to how the virus is being spread although it is speculated that the virus is being implanted into Khepers by an underground society.
