Highschool of the dead or alternative [M seeking F character]

As it is one of my personal favorite anime/manags that is sadly being put aside... I would like to try something with it. I would like to play our lovable otaku, Kohta Hirano, but I would like to change up the story a bit. If you chose, let's say, Rei. The path were she goes with Hisashi and Takashi could deviate. As, she does not simply cling to Takashi, but ends up not forgiving him; eventually causing the two to escape on a different route and Hirano gets separated from Takagi for a time. Eventually, it is Hirano and Miyamoto who meet and team up. Which would lead to the story about them coming together. Though, we can start at any point along the series and deviate it.

The alternative is with OC characters. Mine would be hirano based, but he would be an American transfer student and you would be a Japanese Student or teacher.
