Year One: Superheroic Beginnings (M for f)

For a while now, I've been really craving a "Year One" style superhero story. Everybody knows who Batman and Superman become, but finding out how they established themselves is a fascination of mine. Effectively, I'm looking to play a year one story for a hero who is unknown, someone who is trying to establish himself and who realizes he can't do everything alone. Maybe he's strong, but not a skilled investigator yet. Or maybe he's skilled, but lacks the technological knowledge to hack into computer systems. He would need to make a connection with the right civilian (think Lois Lane or Felicity Smoak) in order to be effective.  Or perhaps your character is another up and coming hero, someone who is also trying to establish herself.

This would be a story with some combined world building, romance, and action. Depending on my partner's interests, it might include some damsel in distress elements as well.
