Changeling the Dreaming: 20th anniversary edition.

For those unaware, this is a system game using these (legal) rules. I've always wanted to try playing Changeling, and buying the very lovely 20th anniversary book definitely just makes me want to try it all the more. I don't know if there's any GM out there that would be willing to run such a game, but if so, I'd certainly love to be a player in it. I'm generally quite open to various types of adult content, from L to EX.

Generally speaking, when I think up a character to play, I design it to go along with the story a GM wants to tell. But ideally I'd love to play a Troll, Slaugh, Satyr, or (Autumn) Sidhe. : )

I figured it couldn't hurt to put a feeler out there on the off chance there might be a GM out there who wants to run something like this! But as a heads up, I've never properly gotten to play Dreaming before and am shaky on metaplot, so a GM who'd be understanding of someone who's played other World of Darkness games but never got a proper game of Changeling! ^^

I have been reasonably prompt posting to group games as of late, if that helps to know!

It's a very beautiful book, and it looks very streamlined. I can highly recommend it. I strongly hope that a GM will want to run it, though I know that unlike the other 20th anniversary books, this one got a bit less attention. Still, fingers crossed!

Yes, it's a rare Oni sighting in the Groups board.  I actually have a good number of the original Changeling: the Dreaming books - hard copy - but I am seriously crap at GMing.  >_>

I adore this game.  I'm booked up on GMing right now, but would love to play. 

That said, if they're still using the basic mechanicso f the storyteller system, there's a lot of oposed rolls.  Usualy when i use the original storyteller system on line it's with people i can skype too for oposed rolls and such.  Hm...

I'm generally a Discord sort of fella, if only because I like the built-in dice-rollers that can be installed in a channel.

Ideally, I'd prefer a game to mostly take place on-site, though, much as I'm warming to the occasional off-site method of managing group game info.

I came /this close/ to backing the C20 kickstarter... still a little sorry I didn't, there was a lot of shiny stuff that went with it.

This is my favourite games of them all. There are just so many possibilities...if you want your baddie to be a giant blue dragon you can make it...want to have them jump into the dreaming and fight anthropomorphic trees? Done..lol and you get to have magic. And in peoples dreams anything can happen.

Vampire being a close second but...I was always bad with the politics Fairies are much more fun lol But then it works more like royal politics which I always liked. But I prefer Dreaming to Lost.

Yes, yes a thousand times yes, I would play in a game of this.  I was just messing around with a Leanhaun Sidhe concept that I think would be fun.

I mean, hypothetically, if people were okay with a total newb like myself running a game, I could give it a go! I was looking as a player since I was a little concerned about trying to leap into the GMing pool, but....if people were okay with being patient with me as I learned, I could run a game like this.

I do have a setting. Not sure if it would be everyone's cup of tea but since I'm so generally new to Changeling I wrote up something for an area I simply happen to know better than other places! I know it's not very exotic or anything, but the game would very much be about protecting a freehold, fighting off Thallain, bargaining with Garou, and the intricate relationship between the Kithain and Nunnehi, as well as the intricate relationship the Duchy of Storms has with those not originally from there. ^^

Every GM was a newb once, and we still are when we run something new :) If you're comfortable with the idea of stepping up, then go for it :)

Have a look around, there might be a quickstart set available. A lot of games do them these days.

Do you know if they've changed much from the original release?  'Cause - uh - I might have a hard copy upstairs...

I'm not sure how similar the original edition is, but I know 2nd edition is just similar enough to where I could probably walk someone through chargen if they didn't own the 20th book. (For clarity's sake: I have a copy of the 2nd ed. core book, but not the original edition's core rulebook, so that means at minimum I can at least cross-check 2nd & 20th against each other >_<  )

I'm fairly familiar with oWoD chargen, and I have located said hard-copy.  (I tend to be a 'concept' player and definitely not a 'rules lawyer', so if tweaking needs to be done for actual numbers, so be it.)
