Where do I put this?

I want to do a thread that is like a diary but others can put their entries in as well and possibly turn it into an rp at a later date? I know this sounds really odd but I saw someone else do it on an old site I used to go on years ago and I'm kinda interested in doing it.

You could try the Storytelling Forum, though you might have to include a little bit of an explanation in your opening post to clarify how it works.

I would agree with Caeli. You can always request it to be moved into a RP section should you turn it into a thread at a later date. :>
