"What do you mean?" Nicole asked, opening an eye sleepily as Katya turned over in her sleep. "I like the sound of it but I'm not sure what you mean."

"You know what that means," Nicole said. "If I have to release it fully I can't guarantee it'll know when to stop, it's not big on the whole...holding back thing."

"I need more than that," Nicole said, trying to stay calm. "If I'm going to trust you I need proof I can."

"Okay," she said, calming down slightly. "We need to be careful, my...friend can be a little temperamental."

"Worse," she said, trying to smile. "It likes to...feed, if I wasn't its host it'd be snacking on humans like we were going out of fashion."

"I'm hoping not the same kind of hungry," she said as she opened the fridge in the corner of the room. "Otherwise we're ALL in trouble."

"Here," she said, handing her a bag of potato chips. "It's not great, but it's the best option we have unfortunately."

She opened them and ate them almost instantly " why me here?"

"I assume to protect us," Nicole replied. "Katya isn't exactly in any shape to fight if someone decided to attack us."

"Sure," Nicole replied. "I'm sorry we don't have more...comfortable seating to provide, mine isn't much better."

"Want to see a cool trick?" Nicole asked, putting a hand out and moving her fingers for a few moments before a silver-coloured ball appeared above it. "I discovered this by accident when I was a kid, I have no idea how this power works."

"Beyond the fact it looks pretty?" Nicole asked, laughing. "I can't imagine a fight where this power could be remotely useful."
