Hello there, everyone who graces my thread with a read. If you couldn't tell by the title, I'm specifically looking for a roleplay centered in the universe of ASOIAF, and will be willing to also write with non-book readers who have only seen the show. I'm going to list a couple of things to keep in mind here - I'd call them "rules" but they're really just courtesies.
-I reserve the right to be picky about the people with whom I write. This universe is very involved and our writing has to be up around the same standard.
-Plot > smut. I, of course, enjoy writing smut. But it's never the focus of my stories. I'm entirely fine writing plots with no smut at all, and will only write sex scenes if the timing is appropriate. I love violence, I love fighting, I love character development, so come at me with all of those and I'm sure we'll develop a good relationship to move into the sexier scenes. This is a world in turmoil. Not everyone has time to take off their clothes.
-I write a LOT. I'm never ever looking for someone who will "match length;" sometimes I write way too much. However, if I write you a thousand-plus word response and you hit me with one paragraph in reply, it won't work out. Quality is more important than quality, but I have to have something to work with.
-I'm willing to write canon characters and OCs, and I'm willing to write with either! I love pairings of any genders as well. I can write as male or female,
and I am more than willing to do mxm, mxf, and fxf, and honestly anything in between.
-Please be willing to work with me as far as reply frequency goes. My life is a little hectic sometimes, so some days I'll be able to do multiple replies in a day, but sometimes it might be a few days before I can respond. I'll never harass you for not replying; however, if I'm ever gone for a few days, I don't mind at all if you drop me a line to remind me to respond!
-If we're doing any relationships with power imbalances I prefer to play the sub/bottom role. However, all my sub or bottom characters will have a feisty side - you've been warned. Specific kinks will be discussed :)
-I prefer to roleplay via thread, but I do have a discord that is available as well, and am totally comfortable writing there. No PM, email, IM, etc. I also prefer to write in the extreme category; it leaves room for any violence that may happen, etc. It doesn't necessarily have to be extreme but I like having the option - in a world where everyone's getting beheaded, we need to have some wiggle room, if only for NPCs.

plots.

I don't have many plots that are fully fleshed out (for now) so I'll put some scenarios in here. If I flesh any more out in my head I'll make sure to update and explain the finer details; however, as I said above, I really love plotting WITH people so that we've put in equal work and are equally invested in the universe!

I love the idea of a man of the Night's Watch traveling north of the wall and becoming stranded. A wildling man/woman discovers him, and instead of killing him on sight like they normally would, the wildling takes him in and nurses him back to health. The wildling desperately wants to come south of the wall, so the crow has to make a choice: abandon his post for love and risk losing his head, or betray the person he's fallen for in the name of honor?

Basically anything beyond the wall! I love the relentless perennial winter in which the far north exists. We have wargs, giants, some leftover children of the forest... There's so much to work with and I truly love gritty, dark, harsh plots and settings. Give me those paragraphs-long GRRM descriptions of miles upon miles of snow. We could write about Mance Rayder and how he united the free folk and the giants. We can write anything.

I definitely want to explore pre-book / show stuff. Young Robert and Ned during the rebellion. Or even further back, during the reigns of the Targaryens.
I love the idea of writing some unimportant family and their trials and tribulations, or of royalty, or even of Westerosi men looking up in awe and fear at Balerion the dread above them, a man with silver hair commanding the power of that great black beast, gazing down upon them with amethyst eyes and a conqueror's spirit. I love the history of Westeros. Let's go back in time.

Other than that, I would love to explore the other countries we don't know as much about. Astapor, Asshai, Myr, Volantis, Old Valyria, Braavos: we know some history of these countries, but I would love to create characters who grew up in these places and are unaffected by the goings-on in Westeros.

So what have we learned here? I want to write everything. I promise, as soon as I get some actual plots in my head, I'll update this. But basically give me gritty, violent, harsh writing/settings and I'm yours!

For fans of the books: we have so much we can work with, fun pairings to explore, and plots to develop that were either royally screwed in the show or left out entirely!

Updated quite a bit today! Added & removed several characters / pairings. And yes, this is also a small bump since I plan to be active here again and I haven't been on in quite some time. Hoping to find some fun people to write with!
