Anyone had luck with Yahoo messenger since the changes made back when, or is it kaput?

Trying to see if I just need to uninstall the thing or if there is a way to salvage it. :)

I've found it to be totally useless since it switched over to...whatever it is that's happening with it now.

I use it on my laptop sometimes.  It is very ...meh the new version.  Very meh.

It is meant to be like more .. phone IMing, there are no contact lists, no real convenient way to view logs,  and just generally not the chat of old (one could argue that was true even before this update debacle, but eh, coffin has been nailed shut, dirt is being loaded on ...) and since it isn't compatible with any OTHER chat program *shrugs* unless you have a friend like mine who refuses to use anything else bail now while you can

Stick a fork in it, it's done.

All my contacts except one (damn her stubbornness) moved to other protocols.  Currently using Pidgin to keep everything in one place.
