What we see as bees, butterflies, ants, spiders, etc, are not what they appear to be from human eyes, their visage to the human eye is just a glamour to hide the truth. The insects truly look like tiny people with details on them that they play off of when projecting to the humans what they want them to see. They are cousins of the fey.

The insect world is divided between two rulers, the kind and benevolent butterfly queen, Seraphina, and the wicked spider king whom wishes to expand and absorb the Butterfly kingdom lands... the fulfillment of his desire for Serphina just a delicious bonus to his inevitable victory.
For what seems forever, the butterfly kingdom has been exhausting their troops and resources just to hold the Spider king's venomous foot soldiers at bay, though Seraphina knows that unless something changes... their time is limited before the brute force of the Spider kingdom overwhelms them and spills into their beautiful flower speckled lands...

When all hope seems lost, a legend bears fruit at last as a hero steps forward as dictated by a prophecy given by an aging grasshopper seer... it is this hero's destiny to clash with the Spider King himself and eventually defeat him.

However... this hero? A fumbling human warlock shrunk down to their size by a spell gone terribly wrong... is this it for the Butterfly kingdom?

This can go a couple ways, depending upon how my partner and I wish to do it. I do however wish my partner to play the Spider King for sure, possibly the hero as well if we choose for the hero to be the one winding up with Seraphina.

Otherwise, we can go a little darker and have the Spider King the victor and plan for the hero to die...

There are options, we just have to discuss them ^.^

Praise to Majere Dreavan for helping me with putting monarch butterfly wings on the queen's photo! Thank you, you rock!
