Lustful Bride

Been hit with a Star Wars craving since seeing the new E3 footage of Battlefront 2. Then I went looking for the original Battlefronts and got an idea when I saw their Galactic Conquest modes.

What about a Star Wars game where the players are a rebel unit, fighting against the empire at the height of actual combat between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. When the Rebels were more than just some band constantly on the run. But were an effective fighting force capable of striking the Empire and taking territory from them.

The game could very well have the players losing objectives, planets, even their own lives, if they don't think tactically and use their skills to win the day. The rebels don't have the numbers to beat the empire, so they have to fight harder and smarter. Let their Quality beat the Imperial's quantity.

With every world or outpost or station they take, they will be granted new skills or bonuses for later missions. But if a they lose, they will be denied those advantages, and if they lose a liberated world to an Imperial Counterattack, then the gained bonus is lost.

I am not sure how this would work, if it would be freeform or system or light system. But this would be up to the GM(s) since I know I would ruin this if I tried to run it.

I do know this would have to go by the All Jedi or No Jedi rule. So everyone is either a regular mortal or if they are force sensitive its in a very light way that doesn't make them Jedi. You can be any species you want, just no Jedi/Sith.

The main story itself would start out with the player characters on Hoth, trying to stave off the Imperial advance before being forced to eventually retreat, with the Empire hot on their tail. After barely managing to escape the rebels would met up with the main rebel force at a rendezvous point where after learning that Luke, Leia, and Solo have gone missing, (Due to the events in Episode 5 while they were on Cloud city) Wedge Antilles is recovering in a Bacta Tank, and many of the rebel forces have scattered.

With some of their best heroes missing or out of action, the rebellion needs an edge against the Empire, something to bleed the Imps while the rebels lick their wounds and try to reorganize. So they ask for volunteers to take a few ships and head out to take small worlds, outposts to boost their combat capabilities and numbers.

And that is all I really came up with so far.

Some other story elements could be

-Finding an old, semi functional, droid factory from the Clone Wars and trying to get it active.

-Scavenging fuel or resources from a wrecked ship or station or trying to steal it.

-Putting to a vote what the ship's engineers and other crews could research and what bonuses we could get from it. We are trying to bring back Democracy after all. :P

-showing that the rebellion can be trusted to keep its promises, by defending a small settlement or colony from a Pirate/Slaver attack.

-Raiding a pirate stronghold for resources and to make the region more stable for civilians.

-Fighting Rebel Defectors.

-Any kind of storyline or mission from the various SW games that could be adapted for this.

That's really all I have. So I hope someone else takes this idea off my hands and runs it :P I am not a good GM.

what would the sexual content be like ?

Well when you're marching through terrible storms, freezing in a foxhole late at night or hoping the ship doesn't implode, it doesn't really foster a romantic setting. If there would be sex it would be quick lustful romps. But it would be unfair to other players in the main game to bring everything to a halt for sex. So the sexual content would be the players in the main thread going offsscreen and doing it in their own oneshot thread then coming back when they are done.

But this also depends on whatever GM picks up the game instead since I don't want to run it.

*Smiles*  A friend of mine had a quintent of star wars story-games (using Star Wars Saga Edition for the game mechanics.)

This is exactly where the story Rebel started.

I would like to join in on this game, if there is still room for another player.

The game has not started. I jus tput the idea out there in hopes someone else will take it since I am terrible at running games.

I would GM if I had more experience with forum RP. If no one wants to GM, then after I get more experience, I could. I can always think of ideas for Star Wars!

Well, I'm  packed this month.

If you don't have a GM in nineteen days, though, and you're willing to use the Star Wars Saga Edition rules to add some richness and internal consistency to the story, I'll take careful stock and see if I can do justice tot his tale for you guys and gals.
