Hello there! I know there have been a few games in this vein (Disney characters reinvented or reincarnated in various alternate realities) but I think this one might be an interesting twist on it, with the way I've got this idea formed.

Good always inevitably triumphs in these stories. Rarely do the evil characters remain among the living, but those that have departed from the mortal realm have made an unnaturally high concentration of darkness and it is throwing the natural order out of balance. Those who stand for good, in the interest of preventing a massive outburst and return of these even more evil villains from the underworld, as well as preserving the harmony of their dearly departed loved ones in their eternal rest, have banded together and created a means of quelling this impending crisis before it becomes unmanageable.

A new world was constructed, a nexus point between each one in which its creators reside, and of course, the afterlife. Pulling the restless souls of their villains out of their deathly imprisonment and capturing them within new mortal vessels, they managed to make them into weaker versions of themselves, and implant false memories in the hopes that they can be steered onto the right path and diminish the darkness within them so that if they die again, they will be more at peace and the darkness will not overwhelm the underworld and spill over into the land of the living and threaten to obliterate the natural order altogether. This synthetic world in which the reincarnated villains are being relocated resembles a small town with a large boarding school at its outskirts, designed to be a prison of sorts for these wayward souls, with an emphasis on rehabilitation rather than punishment. No matter what universe or time period the characters are from, they are all as aware of this nexus as the characters from Enchanted are about there being 'other worlds', in spite of whether they ever have or ever will ever interact with any of the others.

It has been agreed upon that whatever universe, time period or species someone comes from or is, this prison dimension will resemble a 1970's era America (available technology being mainly cars and landline phones but no cellphones or internet), and everyone will be a human, though if they had any extraordinary abilities, those will be maintained although in a significantly weakened form. Or they may possess certain objects of significance if those were a source of power or something on their non-human body was needed for it. Every villain is molded into a teenage version of themselves, between 16 and 19, with a few liberties in their appearance to avoid reminding them of their true selves, especially those who were not human in their previous life. Most importantly, these young villains do not know that they are actually the baddies of legend, but rather have been manipulated to believe that they are actually the children of their villainous former selves rather than actual reincarnations. Old grudges therefore become forgotten or diminished because none of them will have reason to feel that their nemeses were actually responsible for their downfall personally, at worst it would be considered an old family vendetta.

That's not to say they won't still be resentful of the enemies of their 'parents', who are now their teachers and other administrators. Or, some of them, in order to keep a closer eye on these young villains and to try more strongly and frequently to influence them in a positive way, volunteer to become young students themselves, posing as the children of their former selves as well. In this way, a teenage Snow White posing as her own daughter could arrange to become roommates with the Evil Queen's teenage 'daughter/self', and use the opportunity to try to befriend her and turn her more to a good alignment since they'll be around each other far more often than otherwise. Of course, influence can go both ways...and with a younger body comes a different personality, so who's to say an impulsive young hero-in-the-making can't become a bit of a bully or aspiring villain? Or maybe just becoming a submissive sex pet rather than an assertive, strong-hearted hero...the sky's the limit!

So, who wants to give this a go? We can mix and match, so that if a player wants their character to be another character's sibling even though there's no real connection, we can make it so that the characters THINK that they have the same parents. Also, this reincarnation theme allows for there to be anatomical male characters to be reborn as females and vice versa, or simply to have their established gender identities or orientations switched. A side effect of a hero character becoming younger can also have that happen as a side effect, or simply as a result of leaving their natural environment for this artificial school. Disney animated films, Pixar, even some of the TV programs, let them all be drawn upon for characters and inspiration. Excluded are newly acquired properties like Marvel and Star Wars, as are shared properties like Kingdom Hearts. Sorry!

Given the nature of the school's creation, Hades is an exception to the villain rule and is positioned as the Headmaster in exchange for allowing so many souls to be extracted from his domain. I will be NPC-ing as him if no one else wants the role. He can be made co-Headmaster if another character wishes to be in charge of the school as well, but I'm only allowing 2 of them to be Headmasters and no more.

If you would like to reserve a character and submit a profile, here's the template sheet:

[float=left][img height=250]Apperance (Should be able to use this image tag to minimize size to appropriate proportions)[/img][/float]

[b]Name:[/b] Character in this game first, then name of their previous identity (if applicable)

[b]Age:[/b] Youngest students are 17

[b]Role:[/b] Student? Teacher? Headmaster? Other?

[b]All-Inclusive Sexual Identity Characteristics:[/b] Physically what you are (anatomical changes are permitted for those that want to play a reversed-sex version of an established character) and also what sex you identify as, and also what you are attracted to

[b]Personality:[/b] Whether or not it deviates from their previous incarnation and by how much, there's lots of leeway here

[b]Background:[/b] Where relevant, if they didn't die in the movies, just kind of explain what ended up happening to have them wind up in the underworld, like suicidal depression or old age or whatever

[b]Other:[/b] (Any other tidbits you'd like to add)

Interesting. I'd be up for giving it a go. Especially if I could write the alternate version of Ursula xD

Hmm, I like this...I wonder how far we can go, and just how loose the 'Disney' thing is applied (because holy fucking shit Disney owns goddamn everything). Mathim, you still alive?

How the hell did I never notice this getting bumped back to the first page? Oh, wait, nobody responded for over 2 weeks since I created it...yep, that'll do it. LOL. I was too afraid to bump this without permission so I guess it just slipped off the first page before anyone really noticed it.

I'm so sorry it took me this long to notice, but I'm still interested in GMing this if everyone is still around. I'll go ahead and post a sample character sheet so everyone can submit a profile if they are still itching to give this a go.

Um...I'm not sure what you'd do with it either. Is there anything I can do to clarify stuff that might help?

Although I would say, I think the perfect dichotomy would be having a young Maleficent being roommates with a young Aurora and the latter trying to steer the former onto a better path than being Mistress of All Evil like her 'mother'. If we could get those two to be played, that would be a pretty good foundation.

I don't know who Aurora is, unfortunately, and the only version of Meleficent that I've seen was in Once Upon a Time, but mostly my wondering what I would do was wondering about coming up with a good Disney character to play. I'm not well-versed in some of the old-school Disney characters, unfortunately, but I'm thinking... I might do a punk-rock Simba! Because who wouldn't love that?

That's a good point to bring up-what all is allowed to be played? I assume the focus would be on the children of the damned (pardon me for throwing out the metal references), but would "good" characters be thrown in? Is this all just a ploy by some incredibly smart headmaster to put evil with good and watch as the goodness of human spirit wins out?

I may be slightly optimistic with that last point.

Well like I said, there's the TV shows and live-action stuff besides the animation that might be possible to draw from, so no need to tap the well of classic characters exclusively. But with Simba being there, is he an instructor or a student, and if so, is he there to keep an eye on Scar or someone else?

Because the underworld is overflowing with darkness and threatening to burst its seams, Hades cuts a deal with the good guys among the living; reincarnate the villains in younger, less powerful bodies with altered memories (them believing they are the children of their former selves rather than actually them) in a central nexus point between all their worlds resembling a small boarding school and surrounding town. Heroes, no longer viewed as being the enemies of these reincarnated villains (unless the personality of the villain-teen is to hold grudges against their parents' enemies too) assume the roles of instructors to help keep them in line and steer them onto better paths, but some of the heroes volunteer to go undercover as students themselves, so that they can become the roommates and peers of the villain-teens. Hades assumes the role of Headmaster as the whole thing hinges on his power. So there's not too many different possibilities for the roles they can be, but their personalities and relationships are all up to whoever chooses which character.

In that case, I'm vaguely curious if Hades will be hewing closer to his movie personality where he wanted to rule Olympus, or his mythology personality where he could not give a single solitary FUCK about Olympus, because he had his own paradise (the isles of Elysium) that he didn't have to share with any of the other gods.

I do really want to work me playing Elsa in here somehow, but I have no idea how I might fit it in. She might be coming as a 'student' seeking to learn more about how to control her powers and perhaps even amplify them so she can better protect her own kingdom, and also not pull a repeat of Fimbulwinter. I don't really buy that she's in total control at the end of the movie. I'm really tired right now and I'm not thinking super clearly, but if Elsa won't work out, well, I got plenty of others to draw on. Maybe Mulan-I keep thinking Mulan for some reason.

Yes I wanna play a goodie. Evil is haaaaaaaaaaaaarddddddddddddddddddddd.

Well his existence is tied to the underworld's stability so it's out of self-preservation that he's doing this, although yes, he's still irked about his defeat in the movie and isn't actually going to be on friendly terms with any of the heroes. This is purely a business transaction to him and he's not going to be going out of his way to be nice to them and do them favors or anything that aren't directly related to keeping the plan successful. But he doesn't owe the villains anything either, so they also don't get any special treatment from him. He's not grooming them to be his successors or vassals or anything like that, no ulterior motive on his behalf.

I'm still intending to play Ursula, the ultimate con-woman supplier extraordinaire.

Not gonna lie, I'd love to see Beast or Gaston here too. Especially if either one wants to go up against a teen Ursula xD

Might also be interested in a Ruby/Wolf (OUAT) who sorta goes bad if that's possible.

I've been looking to play a character like Shan Yu.  I don't tend to play young characters but I would to be able to play him.

Angie

I can so see Shan-Yu being the big bully on campus, always looking for a fight and not caring where it comes from. He might try to punch Hades in the face, being a Blood Knight Berserker and all.

Gaston just has to be Captain of the Football Team. No other position can allow him to be that damn narcissistic. No one gets sacked like Gaston, no one goes to 4th down like Gaston...

Since Disney was involved with Kingdom Hearts, I wonder if Cloud or Auron will show up as people who watch over campus, as people like that are the only ones Hades knows can handle people with all these incredible powers. Auron nearly managed to kill Hercules with nothing more then a big fucking sword and a huge jug of booze.

But I'm probably getting a little far afield of what this is focusing on. Come on in people, the world is fine!

Ah, Sleeping Beauty!

Anyone know of an exhaustive list of the Disney characters? I always have such trouble remembering what are Disney before or after the brief period between Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story.

For instance... Jedi, technically Disney characters now, right? I'm not saying I'm about to pick up teenage Sidious, I'm just using an example of why this could get complicated.

If I was going to play Simba, probably make him... I dunno, teenage Simba could be fun, but I'd want to explore more than just his interactions with people already in his story. I'd want to see him interact more with people outside of that, to explore more. But I also think I'd want to do the witch from Rapunzel, can't remember her name. The.... Tangled version, I think, unless I'm mixing them up.

Man,  I struggle with Western fairy tales... :/

Oh I just explained how this gets complicated. We could St. Elsewhere this game, and if you get that reference, you are a fine nerd.

You're thinking of "Mother Gothel" by the way. You can easily find the villain by googling the name of the movie with "villain" after it.

It kind of comes down to how straight we play the Disney thing. Is it "only Disney animation/live-action", "anything that appeared with a Disney character" (which includes the Kingdom Hearts stuff I mentioned before), or "anything that's a Disney property" (which includes Marvel, Star Wars, etc). Most Honorable GM Mathim, just how big is the scope of this game?

As someone who played a lot of Kingdom Hearts and has therefore killed most of the older villains, don't worry, I know more then enough to cover for people who don't know.
