Her mansuetude nature was seen by many as worthy of being exploited and they took advantage of it all through her time here in the small village. It was something her mother vehemently disapproved of but Lyla was unfazed by it all up until that one day - the day she met the King.

Now as she walks down the narrow cobbled streets, a constant contrite expression plastered over her face, she finds herself wishing she never met him. Her reputation was damaged in her opinion but if you ask me and I am sure her mother would have agreed with me too, it was exactly what she had needed. The villagers now feared her - and fear my dear is a very powerful tool.

You're doing great, Maeze.  :-)

Using current economic models to explain why the market crashed in the past can be dangerous. If our alien overlords knew we were trying to retrodict what happened, go back in time and change it, so as to lead to their downfall, they would have our heads. But it was a risk we had to take.

The blood hadn’t even dried yet.

With quivering hands she pulled the officer’s jacket more tightly around herself, stammering hushed responses to his questions. She still couldn’t even believe that this had happened to her, to him. This was the sort of thing you read about in the paper, heard on the news, not something you ever had to experience yourself. The perfect face she had painted in varied hues of makeup was ruined by her tears, leaving her looking hardly better off than the victim, her husband.

The officer squeezed the side of her arm and closed his notebook as he gave her a sympathetic dismissal, allowing another on the scene to escort her back home. Once she was gone his partner approached and watched her get lowered into the back of a squad car. “She give us the guy that did this?” He asked, his attention turning the body bag being hoisted onto a stretcher.

“Nah,” The first cop relied, slapping his notebook against his other palm, “She’s too shaken. What she gave me was nebulous at best. We’ll need to find another way to find whomever did this.”

She already got a nebulous idea where to find genuine truth, when she met Sylvestrine Sombergera with her third year at Hogwarts. Together the gifted young witches retrodict their modern times witchcrafts on the sayings of immemorial Hermes Trimegistos.

There was something nebulous about the plan and as number eleven looked up, her gaze flitting over to study the circle, she sensed that the others felt more or less the same way. They would never be able to break out of here if this was his way of an idea. It wasn’t even an idea, it was just a… Her eyes dropped down over to the makeshift model of their escape then and she let out an exasperated sigh. “This is a bad idea; I don’t think we should do it.” At her words, Maven's eyes had shot up and glared once at her before he ignored her and continued on.

The anthropomorphic plates he sold were in hot demand, since they could tell you if the food you were eating was too hot or cold, too spicy or salty for your tastes. That was until they started to say all food tasted bad so they could eat it themselves.

For some period in the early days of androids they were given anthropomorphic shapes. Their creators thought of them as being just copies of their human role models. But with their further development they found other means of expression, and more and more also their physical bodies diversified.

She applied the tincture to his wounds, hoping it contained the right antidote for the poison he was experiencing. Purple spots appeared on his cheeks, and he went through a high fever before falling into a deep sleep. It took two days and nights before he awoke again. He was alive, but he had lost his sight.

A few days before the eruption of the volcano, a massive surge of ants irrupted into the town, stopping traffic as they swarmed over land to safety. Since then, the townsfolk have used ants to predict natural disasters and even the weather patterns.

His preternatural ability to predict where the dice would fall ensured that his family ate well as he was growing up. However, as more and more people got wind of this, he became scouted by mob bosses and other unsavoury characters. It meant he had to go on the run or develop another skill. Going on the run was easier.

Grandma Wetterwachs was supposed to have preternatural skills of healing and fortune telling. Nevertheless she again and again insists that her standard remedy was raspberry juice ( maybe dosed with some mumbled words ) and common sense in telling what was obvious.

The Queen was divested of her crown as the robbers pulled her from the carriage. At that moment, she regretted not increasing the pay of her guards when they went on strike. Royalty and nobility was a such a fragile thing.

"He's the muppet who made such a tucket!" The baker pointed her rolling pin at the little boy who was tucking into a hot cross bun. "'Ere, he's never had mother, so you can't expect him to turn out well. Only thing the good-fer-nethin' knows how to do is blow that tootin' horn."

At the market place in the middle of the small town a scaffold had been erected, a large crowd of excited, furious citizens awaiting around what to happen. A two-wheeled barrow came up, drawn by a couple of old sordid oxen and escorted by a company of armend servants. The former princess, still dressed in her noble robe and a petty silver crown tucked to her long waving blonde hair, was dragged to the platform and forced down on her knees, facing the crowd. Then with a tucket of trumpets a Herold send by the conquering Black Baron was declaiming her verdict. She was divested first of her crown, then of her robe and all her clothing. While the crowd was yelling and calling her unspeakable naughty names, a delegation of nuns of the nearby priory appeared. With them she would spend her former life being an ordinary sister. The abbess turned to the sergeant of the soldiers and permission was given to hand her a raw tailored penitential garb to cover her body. Then she was allowed to get up and to follow her new mistress towards a doubtful future.
